With depths reaching 700 feet and a length of more than 20 miles, Loch Ness provides plenty of hiding places for its legendary monster. Should you tire of searching for Nessie, this scenic section of the Scottish Highlands also delivers charming villages like Drumnadrochit and Fort Augustus, open-air Shakespearean productions, multiple golf courses and medieval Urquhart Castle. Wildlife of the non-mythological variety and ancient Caledonian pine forests can be found in the Glen Affric nature reserve.

The Loch Ness Inn, conveniently located between Drumnadrochit and Urquhart Castle in the village of Lewiston and only 15 miles from Inverness, is set in the heart of the local community where you will meet hikers, tourists and locals in friendly comfortable surroundings
We stayed as a family of 5 with these guys for 4 nights in the Bunkhouse, we ate twice in the restaurant and had breakfast twice too. The rooms were immaculate and perfect for our needs. The shared kitchen area was an amazing twin commercial kitchen for those wishing to explore the self catering element. The food in the restaurant was amazing and the service great. The staff are friendly and helpful, even printing off little guides with things to do. I would highly recommend this place. Only small issue was the noise from the rooms on the Bunkhouse 1st floor, but this is such a small issue in an otherwise perfect stay. Thank you

Stayed in one of the bear huts at Highland Bear lodge and am very glad that I did. The host had made arriving and checking in a seamless experience with plenty of detail via email beforehand and plenty on arrival. The surroundings are really out of this world, well kept and in tune with the locality. The hut was very comfortable, with everything you could possibly need to hand. I’ll be booking again here without a doubt, I could sit outside at the table for ever and a day. Bed comfy, electric kettle, tv, shower, wc, cooking rings, bbq, fridge, heating… all in a bear hut. Most importantly… nature and peace!

Loch Ness Guest House is a new guest house situated in the heart of Fort Augustus only a few minutes walk from Loch Ness, the Caledonian Canal and the amenities of Fort Augustus. Whether you choose to visit during the summer sightseeing season or in winter skiing or hillwalking you will find all the comfort you need.
Very well presented, clean, modern, well-located and characterful lodge. Little touches such as provision of porridge pots and kettles, Tunnok’s mallows and complimentary imperial mints in the room make you feel thought of and there is lots of comfortable space to relax in the lodge itself. Good showers. The sun of the parts make this a great choice in a lovely village. Free parking, a short walk to the village centre … oh and the small double was certainly not that small. Great value.

Stayed here for two nights as part of our honeymoon. The room was big and the shower was one of the best I’ve seen! Bed and room comfortable. No wardrobe just a few hangers on a rail. It didn’t bother us but it might bother others. Owner was good on communication. A few minutes walk from the village which has lots to see and do. The stay was let down by the breakfast. We were asked could we come at 0915 the first morning as they couldn’t have too many people in the breakfast room at one time. That suited us however when we arrived several tables hadn’t been cleaned, and there was only a small selection of food available. Another couple had been sitting there for over 20 minutes waiting to be served with coffee and for the hot selection to be replenished. They hadn’t seen one member of staff in that time. On our second morning we asked to go down earlier than the usual time as we had an early bus to catch, they accommodated this but again not much selection available and we only saw a member of staff briefly who quickly disappeared. Would consider staying here again if they improved on the breakfast scenario! What we had was ok but only cereal and toast readily available.

Ach-Na-Sidhe was a wonderful place to stay. Marsalie made us welcome from the moment we arrived and the room was spectacular! You are surrounded by wonderful views from every window and it felt like home. Marsalie is very laid back and we could have chatted forever with her. The grounds have lots of family members dogs, a batman cat!, chickens and geese and some lovely goats and of course my Clayton, the gosling! Marsalie's children are wonderful too, a real homely home. Breakfast was amazing and I have to say the best porridge We have ever had! We would not hesitate to recommend staying here. It is amazing, welcoming and warm. Thanks to Marsalie - Wonderful Host!! X

My self and my grown up son spent a night here in separate bedrooms and we both remarked on how comfortable the beds were, the bathrooms were clean. Gillian(the owner) was very welcoming and showed us around the kitchen and the lounge explaining how it was self catering and to feel free to use all the facilities. Next visit is being planned with the hope to use CLUNEBEG Lodge as our base. Very good value for money.

Situated in Drumnadrochit, by Loch Ness, the Benleva is the only hotel in the village which is open all year round. Serving award-winning Highland real ales, malt whiskies & excellent locally sourced food. The Benleva has 9 comfortable en-suite bedrooms which vary from Twins/Doubles/Triples to 3 Family Rooms. The Hanging Tree Brewery situated beside the hotel now serves up ales such as First Light & Hanging Tree IPA. Dogs are not permitted in the guest rooms only in the Public Bar area.
Do not eat in this hotel restaurant!!! Greeted by we presume manager who did not seem to know what he was doing. We asked what soup of day was and had to check. The menu printed on the website is not the menu available in restaurant. Online gives a variety of choice and this was not the case. Was a run down, cramped dining area. Glasses were dirty. Cutlery missing, water bottle grubby and over flowed would spill if attempted to open. We ordered mac and cheese. Came with an over cooked garlic bread slice too burnt and stale to eat. Mac and cheese had no flavour at all, even after adding salt which barely came out of the blocked salt pot!! After a few mouthfuls i noticed a bug, which was a small wasp on my food!! I had to go into the kitchen myself to get someones attention and the manager handed me back the bowl and said its a wasp it must have flown in after been served! Firstly i would notice a wasp flying on my food, and secondly it was dead so how would it fly!!!! There was no apology. We refused to pay for the two mac and cheeses and after seeing a dead insect is put off my husband who couldn't stomach trying his. Waitress had to come and apologise as manager stayed out of the way!! Waitress was very nice and it wasn't her fault. Manager and kitchen staff should be ashamed to work there. There is a serious lack of customer service in the restaurant. Anyone eating there in future should avoid it!

Springburn B & B is located a 2 min walk from village, where you will find shops, restaurants, pubs and the post office. We are situated next to Nessie land. We have 1 Double en-suite , 1 Familyroom en-suite ( 1 x double 1 x single ) , also a twinroom with a private bathroom .
We stayed with Shirley and Stuart at the Springburn B&B - the room was small but very comfortable with a large separate bathroom for our sole use. We were welcomed like family members and could not fault their hospitality, the breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Good parking facilities and easy walking distance to village centre and attractions. We will definitely be staying again.
