Finca Tatin is a hotel in the jungle, unique for it`s surroundings, and the simple and friendly atmosphere within.Owned by argentinian-italian globber trotter Carlos Simonini. Our place is special because we live in harmony with Nature; respect and protect the biodiversity while we work and live in the Rain Forest. How do we respect nature? If you look for a simple, relaxed time, good food, excellent company, wonderful places to explore, “FINCA TATIN IS YOUR DESTINATION”!Where is the Finca Tatin?Finca Tatin is on the Rio Tatin, a branch of the Rio Dulce. We are 20minutos boat from Livingston, the Caribbean Garifuna people, and 45 minutes by boat from Fronteras (Rio Dulce) ..
Hands down BEST eco lodge you can wish for in Rio Dulce. Never seen such a customer service in my life. I lost my phone on the way there and they did everything to get it back to me and they managed. From dealing with corrupt shuttle drivers to picking up the phone for me because they said no one messes with their customers. Ive been blown away by their levels of service, thank you Gaby!!! (On top of this the place is gorgeous, amazing chef and food, great staff and the best tours, we will be back!!)

I have not visited Livingston since the start of the pandemic and was worried things would have ttaken AZ turn for the worse. It is true that many restsurants have closed and hotels look the worse for wear but not Casa Nostra. The rooms are still fresh and clean. The food is still easily the best in Livingston AND they have added a fantastic over the water dining area along with as big dock. Service is great and the friendly owner knows everything about the area. Definitely the best place in Livkngston. Dont miss.

La Casa Rosada has been Livingston's favorite for 50 years. Our family is a great mix of locals and international travelers, some of which have been with us since the start while others have brought new energy. We are located on the river side at just a few minutes walk from the main dock and main street. A beautiful old Caribbean house set right on the water side, with fantastic views of the bay. Our light and spacious dorm is on the second floor of the building with ocean view and ocean breeze. Our bungalows are built around the tropical garden surrounding the main building. Our attractive restaurant is known for its great, local selection of fresh seafood, as well as international and vegetarian options. Our bar offers the best coffee in town, fresh home-made smoothies, ice cold beers and a selection of cocktails. We often have live Garifuna music to give you a taste of this amazing culture that is so different from the rest of Guatemala. Our place is fantastic to relax and enjoy amazing views, either in one of the open air lounges, or in one of the hammocks on our private dock. You can grab a book from our exchange, a game to play with friends or a tube to relax in the water. If you feel more adventurous you can book a tour with us to any of the local attractions such as beaches and waterfalls, or rent a jet-ski, kayak, canoe or paddle board (50% discount for our guests!) to explore the beautiful area on your own. We have free WiFi and a travel and tour desk and are happy to help you enjoy this amazing place as well as help you with your onward travel. We're looking forward to meeting you!
Amazing hotel, we had a beautiful 2 bed bungalow for £11 a night. Food is great and staff are lovely. Cute family vibes. Highly recommend the Tapado for Q100. Only minor issue is the poor wifi. Not everyone goes to Livingston but they absolutely should! Stay here!

This hotel probably has the best amenities on the island. The views from the rooms are fabulous and the pool is great. However, the food is bland, pricey, and undesirable. Most evenings the dining room is empty because guests have probably figured out that they'd be better off eating almost anywhere in Livingston. I spent almost two weeks in Livingston and ate at this hotel's restaurant four times. I kept going back because the food used to be good, and I thought that (perhaps) I had been ordering the wrong items. However, I was disappointed each time. On my first visit, I ordered fried fish and rice and beans. The fish was small and bland, and they topped it with raw onions. The rice was cold. The second time I ordered a shrimp ceviche. Unlike almost everywhere else on the island, the ceviche came on a plate (as opposed to deep dish cup) and had zero flavor. On my third visit, I met a friend for drinks -- thinking that would be hard to mess up. But, the hotel did miss that up. We ordered daiquiris, which were watery and warm. I opted for a hamburger on my last visit, but it was salty and chewy. Again, this hotel has great scenic views and good internet service. I spent some time using the internet on my laptop in the hotel's lobby. During my last night, after eating at the restaurant, I was asked to leave the premises because the lobby, which has tons of seating, apparently is for hotel guests only. This made no sense to me. As a native Garifuna, I was very concerned that the hotel staff was being racist, especially because there were Europeans seated in the lobby most days and they were not all guests.

The property is beautiful. The rooms are basic. Good bed but pillows are small and thin, needs to be replaced. Shower looses the hot water after about 2 minutes. Staff are nice but very slow with assisting. Has 2 nice pools, you can rent kayaks.

Hotel Eco amigable con su propia playa en medio del rio. Y las mejores vistas
We looked hard to find a place surrounded by natural beauty, with really good food, and not too expensive. We found it! They have even accommodated my gluten-free diet and my partner’s vegetarianism, deliciously! Hummingbirds buzz through, toucans visible across the river. Bring your binocs! Plus the family-style dinners have been great for connecting to people we might never have spoken to. Highly recommend.

As of October, 2016, Posada El Delfin has a Thailandese masseur by appointment only. Also, with our in-house staff, we can answer in Spanish, English and Thai languages.
I still don't know what to make of Livingston but if you are staying here Posada El Delfin is not a bad choice. Giovanni the manager is very helpful and knowledgeable and all the staff are very friendly. The hotel was clean, the rooms a decent size, the shower did the job and breakfast was a bonus. The swimming pool is good to cool down in and the hammocks on the boat dock are a great place to relax and watch the Pelicans, Frigate birds and the odd Osprey. The rooms can get pretty hot but the rooms have air-con. I would be a bit dubious about staying in the rooms near the table football!

This was a great place to stay - quiet but near town - short 5 min walk to Main Street - lovely clean bright airy room - helpful staff. Great view from the breakfast area and room. Good breakfast and catered to vegetarian when asked. The comfiest bed we had over our 3 weeks of travel !

Welcome to Catamaran Island Hotel & Marina, a tropical paradise in the Guatemalan Caribbean. Our island, is located between the great Lake Izabal and the Río Dulce Gorge, a five minute boat ride from the Río Dulce bridge. Depending on your preference, adventure tourism or simply relaxing under a palm tree, Hotel Catamaran is the ideal place. We have a bar and restaurant overlooking the river, as well as a pool to enjoy under the Caribbean sun. Our qualified personnel will be at your disposal to help you with anything you need. Thank you for choosing and we hope your stay is unforgettable.
We have been at Catamaran, when in the Rio Dulce, for the past year. While sheltering in place for Covid19 the ownership, staff, and fellow boaters have managed the situation in an outstanding manner. The staff have gone out of their way to make certain everyone is safe, healthy, and happy here. They have kept the restaurant open so we can get great food for carry out. The dockmaster and hotel manager have managed some difficult people very well and are working hard to make sure the hotel and marina are in very good condition. They are using this pause in business to make sure the everything will be in great condition when they reopen. There is no where else we would want to be during this pandemic.

Our beachfront resort offers a variety of comfortable accommodations, a lovely pool to cool off or just sunbathe and a restaurant with high service-standards and delicious cuisine. Livingston Resort Hotel is located just a short walking distance (1.5km) from the centre of town, right on the beach. With brightly coloured buildings and lush tropical gardens this is the perfect place to relax!
