Nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mtns, The 1927 Lake Lure Inn and Spa is a haven of peace and tranquility. Our spectacular setting has long been a favorite for weddings, banquets, conferences and retreats.
We always stay at the Inn and everything is great. This weekend was not bad but could have done better. It was Mother's Day plus had a wedding so they were busy. We went for brunch on Sunday morning. The food was good and the service was good. When we went to pay for the brunch went up to the lobby desk to pay, as was done in the past. Was told that they did not make the payment there but was to be given to the waiter/waitress. Had trouble finding the waiter/waitress. Monday morning to check out were told we were never checked in on Saturday when we arrived but had keys for room 417. Where then told we charged for only one night when the deposit we gave for the whole weekend. They need to take a look at their employees and give more training to take care of the customers and give info correctly.

UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP! Geneva Riverside provides a unique place to bring your family. Enjoy the relaxing atmosphere. Fish from the shore while your spouse snoozes in a hammock just a few feet away. Watch your children on the playground as you read a book. Eat lunch & enjoy your favorite beverage at our Tiki Bar & Grill. Throw a game of horse shoes, hit a round of badminton, roast marshmallows over a bon-fire, skip rocks in the river, or just relax. Centrally located close to Chimney Rock, downtown restaurants, hiking, bat caves, and the world-famous Lake.
Older motel that is currently being renovated. We had a renovated king room on the back side near the pool and Tiki Bar. Biker friendly but also saw families with kids. Great people watching. Tiki Bar has good food and great drinks. Our room was clean and comfortable. If you want a five star fancy place look elsewhere. If you enjoy a casual, fun vibe, give this place a shot.

Willowbrook Inn is just outside of Lake Lure beach area & very convenient to the Ingles grocery store & good restaurants. The manager Beth is very helpful and friendly. My husband has mobility needs and she discussed them with us in detail at booking and the room & accessibility were exactly as she described. We had room 3, which is on the first floor & very spacious, with a walk-in shower, separate jetted tub, two comfortable queen beds with very cozy linens, a sitting area within a very cute bay window & a kitchenette with microwave, sink, mini fridge & plenty of counter space. The kitchenette also was supplied with paper towels, drip coffee pot, toaster, dinnerware with a couple of sharp knives & a variety of drink ware. The room has a deck with patio furniture. The room was so spacious & my husband had no problem navigating around with his rollator walker. The room is right off of the main road, so you have traffic noise. You will also hear the folks in the room above, but that is always the case on the first floor. Any noise is easily drowned out by the TV. There is plenty of free & convenient parking. Pets are not allowed. I. highly recommend this inn for couples and families.

The Lodge on Lake Lure is a wonderful combination of an elegant country inn and a casual bed and breakfast - an intimate environment with all the privacy you want, furnished with art, antiques and collectibles. A large, rambling structure, the Lodge is situated high on the hillside to afford a sweeping view of the lake and beyond.Built in 1938, The Lodge was originally used as a retreat for the NC State Highway Patrol and operated by them until 1968.
Visited Lake Lure on personal vacation for my first time together with my girlfriend. I would HIGHLY recommend the Lodge at Lake Lure. The Lodge at Lake Lure was the absolute best place to experience this scenic area. Even though at the time of this review, it was during Covid, the overall experience was superb. The lodge staff was great from booking-to-departure. The welcome upon arrival was hospitable, friendly and personable. The staff were very responsive to any questions or requests. The Lodge grounds were manicured, clean and well maintained. The scenic view of Lake Lure is best experienced from one of their Lakeview rooms. If not, there is a beautiful outside deck with ample space for sitting and viewing the picturesque landscape. Grab a drink and take in the views. The rooms are outstanding. Great use of space. We stayed in the "Roman-room". Huge bed. Mini-fridge, balcony deck for viewing the stars at night and huge bathroom w/ panoramic views. The daily hot breakfast and coffee was an included, unexpected treat. More than a continental fare, served by attentive and friendly staff. Everything is available within < 10-minutes drive to Chimney Rock, Restaurants, downtown, grocery store, golf, hiking and more. The Lodge at Lake Lure is the perfect spot for individuals, couples or families. It's great retreat and place for small group events, parties and get-togethers. I look forward to my return to the area and staying at The Lodge at Lake Lure.

Dated interior with a late 70's/early 80's style -Safety hazards on deck rails where if the right bumped adult or kids horse playing hit the rail it would be a death drop as there was a huge crack and spindles separating from the railing-If you have children and want fun don't bring them here unless they only golf that is-this was strictly a golfing enthusiasts haven and if you didn't do that you were not welcome-although the units accommodate a large family you did not see families here-we literally saw 3 children the entire time and they were likely there due to the wedding that happened otherwise it was all 45+ community and I am being kind lowering it to 45-we thought there would be lots of nice sights nearby to enjoy and roads to ride however after 5 days on the property we were told we couldn't have our bike parked on it we offered to load it into the back of our truck for our remaining day and half but the Security would not hear of it and although there were enclosed cargo trailers on the property and loud exhaust pickup trucks we were told no you will have to leave-Security came at 1:50 expecting us to leave by 2:30- I literally had just taken a pizza from the oven was still in pajamas just relaxing for the day So lunch went into the trash we began the process of packing and what not Security proceeded to return at 2:30 w/not 1 but 2 police officers who I may add were much more accommodating than Staff was when I explained the issue that we were here for a week with clothes-groceries and the expectations of departure cleaning or the almighty Fees, so we could take our time to do a proper departure with money lost on groceries we had to dispose of, and a lunch we didn't get to eat over a petty issue to say the least-the children we did see there had no toys of fun as they're not allowed-no scooters, roller skates etc. The area in general for sights is limited and all require travel time to get to anything worth seeing and enjoying-People were not friendly at all in this Lake Lure area like we have had in past visits to NC on the coastal side New Bern area and Atlantic Beach also the interior around Charlotte. Definitely not a vacation to look back on and say what a great time-only to just laugh because it definitely was not something one would ever expect-sad part is apparently someone tried calling in the morning and had I had a Message I could of returned a call and MAYBE worked out a better solution than a Resort Security Overinflated Power Trip

Given the mixed reviews we were a bit apprehensive, however we found it very enjoyable. Bug free with comfortable furniture and beds. Well equipped kitchen. If you are expecting a traditional five star hotel you might be disappointed, but for a large two-bedroom condo surrounded by the woods it is exceptional. We utilized an Interval timeshare exchange. One caution, if steps are a problem be sure to make arrangements with customer service for a unit not requiring stairs to enter. Everything but master bedroom and hot tub are on the main floor. One of the units did not properly deal with their garbage and animals spread it over the road and on both sides. I called security and it was very promptly and thoroughly cleaned up.

We stayed in a 1 BR "A" unit at Maple Ridge, and loved it. The unit was amazingly spacious, with a well equipped kitchen and DR facing the view (nice!), huge LR with fireplace. BR very adequate in size. Bath very small and tight, but if worked. The building itself is probably fairly old (80's?), but the decor and upkeep are lovely and I had to look a while to make sure it was as old as I had thought it would be (we stayed in other parts of the resort several times over the years, and this was the nicest unit we'd had). Wonderful staff. Access to good wellness center. Hard to find a flat enough place for walks , but we succeeded. Snow left over from a previous storm made us leery of the day trips we had planned, but it was a wonderful, relaxing week. VERY good bed!
