A great find up a quiet side-street with garden & large shaded terrace. Above all the owner, Mr Mangala, is incredibly warm, always cheerful while running the place solo. He cooks brilliantly so don’t miss out on the dinner & breakfast. The backdrop is his grandfathers amazing antique collection. Room was spacious, clean, comfortable bed, with fan & fridge . A/c also available. Perfect stop inland from Negombo on way to cultural triangle

My first night in Sri Lanka is Kurunegala, due to a business trip. Windsor Residence made my night, after a tiresome flight and traffic ride. The hostess is elegant and hospitality. Even we arrived late, she greeted us with a lovely smile, make us felt at home. The place is cozy and neat. The Residence is in a quiet place, which we can have a nice sleep. They have a nice rooftop, which is a great place to have a sun shower or observe the sky. The food was delicious too. It's a pity, to stay just one night. Next time, when I visit Kurunegala, I'll definitely stay here again.

If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city Berry Cove Bungalow is the place. This is an ideal place if you want to have a relaxing holiday. The rooms and the bathrooms are clean and modern. The bungalow is located in the midst of a coconut estate. Enjoyed the pool. Hospitality was great and enjoyed Kumara's home cooked Sri Lankan meals.

The hotel itself is nice, the room was small but comfortable. Everything clean. WiFi was very poor. The yard has many rabbits which are fun to look at, so cute! We had two terrible nights that ruined the whole experience. After a long day of exploring the nearby attractions we got back to the room around 6 pm to find that the whole balcony was turned in to a work site. People were installing the railings, which meant 3 people using circular saws, hammer drills and hammers just meters away from our bed. Staff told us that they should be done in 2-3 hours, so we left the room, parked on a quiet street, waited and came back around 9pm, even more exhausted. Work was continuing, they said 2-3 more hours. Eventually the whole banging and grinding stopped at 1 am. We immediately fell asleep just to be woken up by people banging on the newly installed railing (cleaning it) at 7 am. They ensured us the work was over. Same evening some ridiculously loud music from a huge party nearby kept us awake until 2:30 am. It was some town event that if I understood correctly happens on Saturday. From the loud noises 2 nights in a row we had headaches for days, took us 3 days to catch up on sleeping. They could've warned us that the hotel would be turned into a constriction site until 1 am. Or that there is a super loud music nearby the next night. Hands down, one of the noisest places we've been, just horrible.

Location is ideal for families , nature lovers and group of friends. They serve nice food made out of home grown organic vegetables and fruits. Food is very tasty and they can can arrange BBQ / additional dishes etc as well. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The manager always check about our requirements and make sure that we enjoy our stay. Staff was very humble and open for feedback. The garden is very big and it offers a spectacular view from the pool side. Rooms and the bathrooms are large and clean. I saw some previous comments about the road conditions. But there is nothing to complaint as road is quiet ok and you have got only a 1.5KM of road without tar. That is also not so rough or hard. We would like to visit the place again and guests can easily visit lot of surrounding places like Ridee Vharaya, Mathale from there. Great value for money!!!

As many have said before us, Mrs Richards is a lovely lady but, sadly, the accommodation doesn’t live up to her personality. We arrived early and were given the choice of 3 rooms, all of which were fairly basic and a bit tired. Some had plaster spalling off the wall due to dampness. The bathrooms were particularly tired and worn and could do with starting again. There was a lot of accumulated water staining on the shower fittings and pipework and other people’s soap left in the dish. The timber cupboard unit under the sink and the back of the door were very worn. It all looked a bit dingey. The double bed was huge and very comfortable and the place was very quiet at night. There is a huge communal lounge at your disposal and a large kitchen area but no decent outdoor space. The included breakfast is very good.
