Reviewed By Linda RHalkidiki is just lovely, beautiful beaches and swimming in a blue flag beach was just fabulous. The hotel was just so disappointing, this is without a doubt not 4* by any means, as already mentioned 2/3*. The gardens are beautiful and well kept but it was just a bit too lacking everywhere else. Apart from the chap who helped with the cases and the girl serving at the pool bar, and the girl in the restaurant the rest of the hotel staff were possibly the most rude and surly people I have ever encountered in a hotel environment. We even witnessed a set too in the taverna on the Greek night which was the only entertainment provided by the hotel manager dancing himself. My husband went in to settle the bill, we moved table to be with friends then, to our utter embarrassment were accused of not paying, luckily I had the payment evidence at hand on my phone, but leaves a bad taste after. The service wasn’t the best and you get what your given. After ordering, potatoes I was told there was only chips so agreed to that then rice arrived! In the room we waited three days for them to fill the soap dispenser to wash our hands and shower gel, I actually dismantled them and left the empty bottles to get them refilled. The room wasn’t very clean itself and very tired decor. No kettle, no bathrobes, shocking wi-fi and definitely not sound proof by any means, we could hear people in the bathroom on both sides. Around the pool is a sparing amount of sun beds and this is for a reason, they think people are daft, because you have to go to the beach and pay €20 a day, day one we paid, didn’t get a receipt because the paper wasn’t working in the machine (yeah, heard that a few times in town too) and we all know where that went! From that day forward we paid by card. If you like to pay €12 for 2 mediocre coffees €6 a pint while down there, it leaves another bad taste. Don’t rush back upstairs tho as the pool is shut off at 6pm, even the little babies in there were chucked out and chains up. I know it takes a while for the cleaning, filtering but are you sure? 6pm in the summer season? Don’t have any illusions of watching any TV in English either as there is one BBC news channel, the other 30 are German and Greek. Breakfast is interesting too kidney beans and carrots! Could this be leftovers from the evening meal? I am so pleased we were breakfast only, the surly staff and not able to serve yourself, having to ask for salt and pepper as none on the table was a joke. The best thing about this hotel is the efficient taxi service out of there into the nearest town.

Reviewed By EmmaPit76This hotel is the perfect getaway. It has amazing views of the sea and a shuttle bus to take you down the hill to the beach and pick you up again. The pool bar does great food and the beer is chilled ? The cleaners do a fab job, fresh towels and sheets very regular, amazing. The lady who does breakfast is brilliant always ready to chat and have a giggle. All in all this hotel is absolutely fabulous and will definitely be returning ?

The staff was so courteous, the location serene, with a stunning view over the sea and mountains, the newly refurbished rooms a delight to be in, the pillows and bedsheets smelling so nice, the breakfast really delicious. There is a path that leads to the sea and the beach of the hotel is private and this is the good part because you enjoy it and relax more. The staff was very good and pleasant, whenever I needed something someone from the staff was always there to assist me. The room was very clean with a nice and cozy design and with an amazing sea view from our balcony. I brought my dog and he had a lot of space to run and enjoyed it too, when I made the reservation I was informed that the hotel applies an extra charge for the pet but it was total ok for me. You also wake up with the sound of birds. For sure value for money. I highly recommend it.

Brilliant family run Hotel
Reviewed By jcb1961Myself and my daughter had a fantastic week re charging our batteries here at The Pighi Hotel. The hotel is in a perfect spot on the main road, close to all the bars, restaurants and shops. Breakfast was included, which was fine..a small choice of eggs, cheeses, cereal, etc. The room came with complimentary air conditioning, a safe , fridge, kettle and tv. It was cleaned daily and linen and towel changed as well. The pool is small but very clean and refreshing after a day on the Beach and a large bottle of Mythos was only 2.50 eur. The family that run the hotel were so lovely and kind, They go out of their way to ensure you have everything you need. The stroll down to the beach took around 20 min's and was very pleasant .. There is a lovely Beach bar with Deck chairs and nice views, the menu was quite limited, but in general very nice. The sunbeds are 4 eur each, however we walked further along as the beds are very close together and in a lot of shade. The beach bar provides a free bus Back to the hotel from around 4 pm onwards. Kriopigi itself is small but has a friendly charm to it and enough lovely restaurants and bars to keep you occupied. We ate at Balatos...Anthoulas ..Athenas They were all fantastic... We also walked one day to Afytos.... stopping off in Kallithea..the plan was to bus it home..however the bus didn't turn up! A taxi is around 12 EUR. We did visit Afytos at night as well which is recommended. We would thoroughly recommend the Hotel Pighi... And a big thank you to Sakis and his family for making us feel so welcome.

But without car it will be a little difficult because for beach bar you need go down from the hill and later come back up. It can be a little hot ?. Hotel close to all shops and caffe. There is small kitchen with everything what you need.

Unpleasant surprise
Reviewed By valentinarspFirst, we were given a room on ground floor ( i wouldn't call this a hotel, maybe a guesthouse ), so, maybe "floor" isn't exactly the right expression, but, ..it didn't have air-conditioning, for almost four days we managed without it.. they gave us a fan while they were trying to fix the air-con. On the fourth day they gave us a different room. It did have air-cond but it couldn't cool the whole area.. we were fed up with trying to fix things and we had come for a nice vacation so we endured that way, it was not that bad any more but we had already had enough. Should I point out that this, 2021. summer was the hottest in more than a hundred years in Greece. Temperatures were between 40-48 during the day. Food: it's not a buffet at all ! You are simply given what they want and it's the same every single day. It is: salty option-boiled eggs, ham and some vegetables, and sweet-two types of jam, a type of cream like nutella and butter. Juice from a machine. Sth. like coloured water. Dinner, on the other hand, was great! A great variety of dishes every day; with vegetables and usually with meat. It was noisy. The pool is ok, not much of maintenance though; you can see that some parts at edges have come off, and dirt on the bottom. The staff were friendly.. most of them. I wouldn't use that word for the female working at the reception.. just didn't leave that impression overall. All in all, I can't say we hadn't had enough experience prior to this so we allowed ourselves such a minus in our holiday selections..it's just ... we didn't do enough checking.
