Famous for its luscious beef and crisp, pure sake, the Japanese port of Kobe is a thriving metropolitan city with an international feel. The sake-brewing season runs from October through April, and that's the best time to take a tour of a kura (the Japanese word for brewery). Visit the Hakutsure Sake Brewery Museum year-round. Naturally, the nightlife here is prime perfection.

Urban resort hotel surrounded by the sea; on site restaurant featuring French & Asian cuisine; theatres & shopping within 1 mile. Parking: 11
Comfortable, pretty-well-appointed bedrooms. Quality soaps which left skin feeling smooth and refreshed. Huge TV with pre-dedicated channels for Netflix and YouTube. Handy variety of charging/hooking-up adapters for various USB/etc dependent gadgets. Room had a nice balcony + chairs looking out over a section of the harbour toward the Harborland Mosaic restaurant and boutique complex. Ample selection of international / Japanese items on breakfast buffet menu in a large set of rooms generally looking out over the harbour. Staff pleasant, courteous and efficient. Not quite as prestigious or ritzy, perhaps, as the nearby Hotel Okura (have been lucky enough to stay at both), but a more lively and cosmopolitan feel. The spacious central atrium also gives it a lighter and airier atmosphere. You can book and take a 2-hour + evening dinner cruise around Kobe 'bay' at the terminal one floor down from the hotel lobby, although you can book a similar type of cruise from the terminal at the Mosaic complex a short walk away. Kobe Port Tower is a very short walk from the hotel entrance. Finally, at any time of year, but especially from late spring through autumn (I would imagine; I visited in early December), the Nunobiki Herb Gardens and Ropeway are really worth a visit -more so, perhaps, than anything else in Kobe. Take the hotel's free shuttle bus up to the shinkansen (bullet-train) station and follow the signs for the cable car (about a five-minute walk). Take the cable car all the way to the top (past the intermediate stop) and stroll down a wonderful winding path past all manner of fragrant herbs and flowers, with mountain views over Kobe, the sea, and beyond... There are plenty of play areas for children (who basically have plenty of fun just running down the slopes), and quite a few hammocks laid out where you can sunbathe and snooze -a treat in the early winter sunshine, before twisting yourself inside out as you try to get out of the hammock and you suddenly find yourself on the ground.

Great experience at the oval club I must say, amazing customer service, delicious food and stunning view. We just had a small issue with the bathroom sink which was clogged but other than that our stay was good.

Spend three nights here to visit Kobe and the environment. Location is great, facing the harbor with a short walk to the city center. The hotel itself is a bit dated, hallway carpets have stains everywhere. Rooms are quiet and somewhat oldstyle. There’s a minibar with hardly anything in it. Bed is rockhard and the draperies must be ages old looking at the stains. Aircon is really quiet and works well. Slippers but no bathrobes in the closet. Biggest disappointment is that they make you pay for all the extras. We wanted to use the outdoor pool for a short swim, but they charge you 1600 ¥ per person (and no one harmony discount, as others claim!). Must be one of the better hotels in Kobe, but will probably try another place next time.

Nestled in the just right between the Kobe train station and the bustling city center is Hotel Monte. As soon as you enter, the friendly staff greet you and check you in expeditiously. The rooms were American style rooms and quite comfortable. The bathrooms were a bit small but that is normal in Japan. Additionally, the breakfast buffet was better than most hotels we stayed in Japan. They had a good selection to choose from and everything was fresh. As you can see from the map, the hotel is less than 100 meters from a shrine and about a 15 minute walk to the shopping district area. Good location, decent price and amenities. Enjoy!

Found a good deal for this hotel to include New Years Eve. Very easy walk from Sannomiya east exit.Look for McDonalds…walk in front of it and turn right.Walk straight until you see Family Mart on the corner…the hotel is next door! There are 3 convenience stores within 50 meters of the hotel.Double room was small for 2 with the bed against the wall but comfortable. The restaurant attached to the hotel has closed so no breakfast plan. Would stay again if the price were right!

Stayed with my family for vacation. The room is in the annex renovated in 2013, with the Akashi Ohashi Bridge view. We had a breakfast buffet with many local cuisines and found many foreign visitors there.

Rebuilt from the ground up in 2010, Oriental Hotel stands proudly in the beautiful coastal city of Kobe. With a history of over 145 years, Oriental Hotel is widely recognized as Japan's first Western style hotel. Modeled after its predecessors, the hotel's interior features rich wood tones as well as vivid marine colors to represent its unique location between the Rokko Mountain range and Osaka Bay inlet.
I recently spent over a week in this superb hotel. The room was first class. An extremely comfortable bed. The service was faultless, with warmth. The hotel has a fascinating history which you can feel. It is beautifully appointed. Highly recommended. I look forward to returning!

Hotel Crown Palais Kobe, located in Harborland - new urban waterfront center - is conveniently close to JR Kobe station. The international city of Kobe delivers exotic flavor. Our rooms confort you, while offering beautiful views of Mount Rokko. Experience uniquness at our rentaurants and spa.
It was a trip to my father and an 8-year-old child who loved railways. I chose this hotel because it is a superior hotel, but the price is almost the same as a budget-friendly hotel. I felt it was a good hotel for small children. A trip with children is an endless worry. For example, if my child is noisy, if I fall in the rain while holding my child's luggage, if my child dislikes eating at the hotel, if my child gets dirty, and so on. This hotel can ease these worry. First, the rooms are spacious and spacious, with solid walls. If there is not much noise, it seems that there is no need to bother the next room. Second, you can get there from JR Kobe Station and other stations without getting wet. Third, there are some fast food restaurants, buffet restaurants and sweets cafes nearby. And you can buy groceries at supermarket "Gyomu Super". And If you don't have enough children's clothing, you can visit nearby apparel stores such as Nishimatsuya and Shimamura. If you want romantic, this hotel has some disadvantages. For example, there are places where equipment repairs are not perfect. Even on higher floors, the night view is not fantastic. But those shortcomings are not important for us. We used optional spa and were able to spend comfortably.

Located close to the train station and as many have indicated, right next to Chinatown (was concerned that it would be noisy but it wasn't). Actually, love the location! Love being able to stroll Chinatown before bedtime and close enough to the station that rolling our carry-ons to and from wasn't a hassle and it was walking distance to other nearby attractions. Check in at the front desk staff was efficient. Staff was friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the common area (they use for breakfast) for hot drinks and snacks and also to listen to vinyl!!! Really, where else but Japan would you find something like this in a hotel? misc note - one of the few hotels that loans out nail clippers. really useful at this point in our trip. Only place I've ever seen this (usually we purchase an inexpensive one on our travels)
