The hotel attracts business, conference, local and International tourism clients. From Moi International Airport in Eldoret it is just 45 minutes drive. First time visiting Kitale town and what a splendid place to spend. Looks magnificent from the outside. The reception and general hospitality is top notch. Very clean rooms and supportive staff. Could have loved to stay there longer but duty called. A promise to do a private trip and enjoy the fresh air.

Check in process was simple as we had made reservations before hand. We made reservations for Executive Suite. The room is spacious and airy though we did notice child finger prints on the wall. The bathroom was clean. Our pet peeve was the limited menu selection. Cranes Suites is located in the bread basket of Kenya and it boggles the mind why they serve canned food for breakfast (beans, pumpkin soup). Fresh fruits are abundant in Kitale other than pineapples and water melons everyday. I ordered tomato soup for starter that had steel wool. The menu could use a lot of tweaking and creativity. The chairs in the main dining area have seen their better days. Most of the staff are aloof. Never acknowledging guests. However we had a member of staff who was very attentive to our needs. We would like to thank the manager for giving us a jump starter. Overall, the Executive Suites is not worth the prize.

This is the best that Kitale town has to offer. Free WiFi at excellent speeds irrespective of your location within the hotel. If traveling further north, then this is the last hotel, before you venture into part of the Wild, Wild North of Kenya.

This is a lovely, calm place, but be very careful how you reserve it. We reserved and paid on hotels.com. Cranes Haven would not honor the reservation and charged us again. The result is a charge of more than 200 USD per night.

The retreat is a simple establishment that gave a warm welcome and Kevin and staff looked after us very well during our stay. The garden and its bird life was peaceful and interesting as we relaxed in the evening on our return from the hustle and bustle of Kitale and other places we visited during the day, really good for recharging our batteries. We enjoyed the meals which were of a definite Kenyan flavour, something we really appreciated.
