It took George H.W. Bush to make Kennebunkport known to most of the country, but New Englanders have enjoyed this quiet coastal Maine town for years. In hot weather, beaches are a major draw, but Kennebunkport's many small boutiques, art galleries and restaurants make a visit fun at any time of year. Inveterate shoppers may want to combine a visit to Kennebunkport with a trip to nearby Kittery, where dozens of outlets and factory stores offer plenty of bargains.

Our coastal Maine Bed and Breakfast is one of Kennebunkport's finest independent, owner operated, historic Inns. We offer understated, casual luxury and modern comforts coupled with traditional New England charm. Nestled in a quiet neighborhood next to the 15th fairway of the Cape Arundel Golf Club, we are only a short stroll from bustling Dock Square's shops, restaurants and art galleries. Our five guest rooms are well appointed with queen size beds and private bathrooms. Many have fireplaces (seasonal) and there are spa tubs in select rooms. For that extra special accommodation, our one bedroom suite is equipped with a king sized bed, two person walk in shower, oversize spa tub, fireplace, refrigerator and in-room coffee maker. A three course breakfast is prepared fresh from scratch each morning using local and organic ingredients. Coffee and hot drinks are available 24 hours a day in our dining room . 1802 House is an ideal destination for relaxation and as a base to explore everything the south coast of Maine has to offer.
Our first trip to Maine, and we were delighted with our stay at 1802. As we drove up, we initially thought it was too far to walk into town, but we were wrong. Our car (whose NY license included "1802" - nice touch!) never left the lot, meaning we didn't have to deal with parking issues in town. Carl and Eileen, the inn keepers, couldn't have been more accommodating. As expected, it was a very friendly place, with an opportunity to meet new people at breakfast. We had the Sebago Suite and were pleased with the added space - whirlpool tub, porch, etc. This stop alone will encourage us to return.

We did a two week vacation on the East Coast and this was, by far,, our favorite respite! The grounds serenade you with beauty and peace! Every inch of our room was spotless! Simple elegance surrounds you! Kudos to every staff member! Every request was immediately handled with such courtesy! I am not a breakfast person but, I quickly became one when the food served is of such a wide variety and outstanding quality! I hope to make the 10 visit walkway! Thank you for a holiday for the books!❤️

With four room categories, this property provides an accommodating array of options, perfect for your romantic getaway or family vacation. Their onsite restaurant, The Burleigh, features classic Maine fare and creative cocktails. Kennebunkport is one of the East Coast's premier vacation destinations and the Kennebunkport Inn is the perfect location for your stay.
Location. Location. Location. You can't get a better location to the downtown section of this charming town. It was great to have a parking space available since you can tell that's a premium around here. We were able to walk almost everywhere and for all our meals in just minutes. We stayed during Halloween in Covid - so not everything was open (restaurant looks great but only on weekends). Staff were friendly and the room was cozy and charming. We had a dockside king with a fireplace. Outlets were few - but really enjoyed the room and the daily breakfast bag. I would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I stayed at the Boathouse for our 38th anniversary just within the last week. The Boathouse was the best experience we could have asked for. The staff at the front desk and in the bar/restaurants were extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was exceptional. Spacious, clean, and the bed was so comfortable. We even got to visit the roof deck which was amazing. The contintenal breakfast was a pleasant surprise. Our overall experience was "awesome".

My daughter and I stayed in both the main house and the cabins and loved them both! Beautifully appointed with plenty of room and exceptional hospitality, the property was elegant and convenient. Breakfast was a photo-worthy event. My daughter has special dietary needs and the staff accommodated her perfectly. Brandi and her team were all helpful and knowledgeable giving us lots of insider tips and information. We can't wait to come back!

Guests choose from two distinctive locales to book their stay: The landmark Cape Arundel Inn’s Main House on Kennebunkport’s exclusive Ocean Avenue or the nearby Club House, a vintage manor tucked within 15 wooded acres. Guests staying in the Main House building’s guest rooms enjoy breathtaking ocean views, onsite restaurant, Ocean, and a spacious lawn area – replete with Adirondack chairs in which to sit and soak in the fresh sea air. At the Club House, a short drive away, guests can enjoy the clubhouse featuring vintage pool table, lounge bar, library and spacious patio surrounding the heated lap pool. An a la carte breakfast is available daily at Ocean Restaurant. While the time away on your chaise lounge at the Club House, soaking up the summer sun’s rays, then enjoy a stroll to Cape Arundel Inn for an afternoon porch cocktail as you drink in breathtaking ocean views.
We stayed here on the final two nights of our first trip to Maine. We chose a “bungalow” room, with a small patio overlooking the Atlantic. The room was beautifully decorated, spacious, with a modern bath…..and a bottle of our favorite champagne. The breakfast items delivered to the room each morning were just right to start the day, along with coffee made in the room. The front lawn is spacious and well landscaped with plenty of Adirondack chairs. The front porch has seating with views of the Atlantic. On the second day we made our way back to one of the annexes that had the pool, plenty of lovely seating areas inside, around the pool, and in a screened porch. My husband was able to play some pool on a beautiful antique table. On our final night, we ate at their restaurant and it was also worth the splurge. Food and service were excellent and each table has at least a partial ocean view. Each night after dinner, we would sit on our patio, bundle up in blankets provided, and finish our bottle of wine while watching the moon, stars and ocean.

Welcoming and unassuming, The Lodge on the Cove is a happy place to visit, perfect for multi-generational travel, couples and young families.
In my 70 plus years, this is one of my worst experiences regarding hotels and lodging. Upon check-in, I ask for change for $10 bill for soda machine. Front desk had no change. In our room, No washcloths, Broken coffee maker. Other worked ok but NO regular coffee, only decaf. Bakery bag next morning, not like what our friends got in another room. Front desk opened from 8am to 6pm. Pool opened 8am to 6pm. NO streetlight in parking lot- VERY DARK. Discussed these items with Manager- but no reduction in cost offered. Brochures and Website look very nice, BUT don't be fooled. NOT WORTH THE HIGH $$$$$$
