Stayed 2 nights as part of a longer trip. The first night I stayed in room 203. At first after check in I thought the smell of cleaning chemicals and perfume were very strong. I assumed they would fade and all would be well. Returned after dinner and found it was still strong but we were tired so we went to bed anyway. Woke up in the morning to the most nauseating smell of sewer gas you can imagine. We quickly packed and prepared to either move to another room or leave as the stench was unbearable. The innkeeper had another room so we moved for the second night. The innkeeper explained that they did not know why it was that way but they were aware of the problem, and could not fix it. Any red flags yet? The hotel knows there is a plumbing problem in the room which dumps sewer gases into the room and yet they continue to book guests into it. Enough said. What makes it sad is the people who work there are friendly, kind, helpful people.

The hotel lies just a few steps away from the beautiful and authentic centre of this ancient city. The hotel is well equipped, spacy and very clean! Breakfast is more than you could wish! The staff is very welcoming and helpful if necessary. I strongly recommend this hotel for both cylcists and hikers as the surroundings are awesome as well!

8 beautiful rooms, each of them is decorated by its own famous artist such as Gil Topaz, Lionel Guibout, Alberto Bali, Quadrio Lanfranco, Antoine Brellmann, Mathias Schauwecker and Yann Baco... Ideally located at the entrance of the old town of Kaysersberg (Haut-Rhin, Alsace) and close to parkings, the Hotel is open all year round.
We were a bit surprise to see that the reception of the hotel was not serviced and that the restaurants were not open. Nevertheless we were received a very friendly welcome from the woman at the butcher shop where we picked up our keys. A bit unconventional but ok. A little apprehensive as we made our way to our room but totally unnecessary. Our room was newly renovated, very large and bright. The beds were very comfortable and the room completely quiet. The owner gave us some great tips.

The hotel is set in an ideal location in this vineyard town. The room was well appointed and had wonderful views. The staff were very helpful. My original booking was pre-pandemic and we had to cancel our trip to Europe. The following year it was cancelled again. When I checked out, I was pleased to see my earlier deposit from two years ago applied to the bill. Very efficient. It is not done to carry your own luggage and as I descended some stairs with two small cases someone took one of the cases, saying let me help you. As he handed it back, I realized it was the owner/chef setting an example. That says it all. Two suggestions. Something could easily be done to provide recharging ports or electrical outlets at the desk in each room. We had 5 devices to keep charged, including phones, a laptop, and a Kindle. Also, each room should have two portable luggage racks left in the cupboard. Suitcases should not have to be opened and stored on the floor. Definitely a do again.

Dus beste mensen wees gewaarschuwd.
