Reviewed By Emre KIt was a terrible experience. The lobby, restaurant and ski room was packed. The restaurant legally shouldn’t accomodate more than 50 people but there were around 400-500 people sitting face to face. Sometimes it is impossible to find a place. There people having their lunch and dinner in the bar. We warned the owner about axeeding the limit over 10 times, she took out the “max 50 people” warning from the wall. Besides, the food, service and variety of food options were quite poor too.

We are honored as Kars-I charming family with the warmest hospitality in our hotel which is located in the historical and modern building of Kars city center. Kars city center is 6 KM away from the airport, 3 KM away from the intercity bus terminal and 1.5 KM away from the railway station.
Adequate
Reviewed By Jane ESeveral other hotels in Kars were booked out. While the Sirin was nowhere near my first choice it turned out to be adequate for a 1 night stay. The hotel has an interesting design from the outside, perhaps best described as Ottoman style. The receptionist had very little English but went out of his way to be helpful even calling soon after I had gone to the room to offer complimentary Turkish coffee. The hotel is a bit scruffy with very stained carpets, a bit of mould in the shower and a broken glass light shade. That aside the room was very clean and large with a double bed and a separate single bed plus a table and a couple of chairs. There was also a small fridge but it didn’t feel cold inside. Perhaps it was unplugged somewhere or not cold because the power was off when the room was not in use. The room itself was very warm in spite of the sub-zero outside temperature and the street was quiet. The hotel is situated on the edge of the main downtown area in easy walking distance of a good supermarket, restaurants and other shops. On the downside, the wifi was appalling when it actually worked which it didn’t much of the time anyway. Don’t count on it. The in-house restaurant serves only breakfast so don’t count on that either for other meals. Finally, the hotel was supposed to have ordered a taxi to get me to the train station early in the morning and even told me how much it would cost but there was no taxi to be seen at the departure time. I expect this was the taxi’s fault not the hotel’s but it was stressful none the less. Fortunately, there is a taxi stand half a block away with a driver sleeping inside a little cabin next to a couple of taxis so I didn’t miss my train. Overall, the Sirin is fine for 1-2 nights with good proximity to most things and most of the desired comforts with the exception of stable wifi.

I'm going to be honest. This hotel sucks and it's far from "Grand."

When I checked in to my room, I noticed that the air conditioner did not work. it was blowing air, but it was hot, humid, and very uncomfortable. The water in my room was all jacked up. When I turned on the sink in the bathroom, water shot horizontally out of the faucet and all over me. I had to turn the faucet on with the lowest pressure just to avoid getting water splashed all over me. When I came back in later in the evening, my friend's room was fine, air conditioner was on full blast and it was pleasant. My room, not so much. The water was not working. Just bubbling noises coming from the pipes under the bathroom floor. I called the front desk to tell them there was no water: solution? They brought me two bottles of water. I called the front desk again, and I was told to wait ten minutes, then they came up and made a phone call and the water came back on, but again, when they turned it on, the water shot out horizontally, rather than going into the sink. When they saw me watching this, they quickly turned off the sink and redirected my attention to the air conditioner, which was still not cooling the room. The man opened the window and told me "natural air conditioner..." They eventually gave up and asked me if I wanted tea. No, I don't want tea. I want the air conditioner to work so I don't have to wake up in a puddle of sweat in the middle of the night. I want the water in the sink to work properly, rather than spray water all over me. After giving up and realizing that nothing was going to be done, I decided to call it a day. Unfortunately, I woke up to knocking at the door: the maintenance technician came to fix the air conditioner, but he didn't want to come in the room? I told him to wait so I could get dressed and allow him to come in the room, but he decided rather to leave and forget about it altogether. So there you have it, ineffective water and air conditioning. I really think that for the price I paid, these are room amenities which I should have. I really think that for the price I paid, their solutions to the problems i brought to their attention, well they were just not adequate. I'm not impressed with this hotel at all; I wish I had stayed elsewhere. I would not recommend staying here in this hotel at all. You've been warned.

Reviewed By TyilService was very warm and friendly. Food was not very good. They offer variety of choices but main courses taste not so good. Location is quite good. They’d better add some things to spent the night with fun for guests like billard, fusball etc.
