The place is incredibly beautiful! It's a few km away from the downtown but it's definitely worth it! Bungalow are so lovely, food is great, staff and locals are very friendly and, in general, vibes are amazing. I highly recommend it if you want to live a unique and unforgettable experience. The bamboo terrace is the cherry on top, you can enjoy sunrises, sunset or just the landscapes on Mekong and plantation fields.

In a luxurious garden with plenty of fruit trees, Mekong Bamboo Hut Guesthouse offers an amazing way to discover Cambodia. In the island of koh Pene in a middle of the Mekong river front of Kampong Cham, cross the biggest bamboo brige of Asia and come discover a Khmer traditional life style. In our Guesthouse, guests sleep in a hut, using a hammock or a matress with mosquito net for 3$/night. The place is very relaxing with a platform overlooking the Mekong. We have a bar restaurant with homemade food. Nice beach for swimming on the dry season.
I loved it here. I only stayed for one night, but spent almost the entire day chilling on the deck and reading (except for a few hours that I explored the island with one of the Hut's bikes). The atmosphere is relaxed and lovely. The owners are sociable and friendly. The food they serve is good. And the hammock I slept in was surprisingly comfortable. I loved this place, but I can imagine that not everyone will. You sleep in a hammock under a thatch roof (no walls) and there is no hot water. If that doesn't put you off, I recommend staying here 100%.

A bit out of town but right in the middle of a village. The owner is very helpful and one of the few places where we could rent a motorbike . Having wheels made it easy to visit the French tower and the temples. Also one of the few places where one can refill drink bottles.

I arrived at the hotel for 3 nights. Near the hotel there is a village 1 km away and the village people like to listen to music very loudly. They sing into the microphone and it's all well heard in the hotel. For 2 days I got tired of howling into a sweat microphone. Bass resounds in the eardrums and blood flows from the ears. I wanted to leave as soon as possible and never come back. The music started at 7 am and played until late in the evening. I'm very angry and tired ????? I wanted to rest but got a lot of stress. Squeaky loud music all day long. The nature is good, the air is fresh, the staff is friendly. Stress 200%

The price is reasonable and room were fine but the services was very poor of receptionists. I asked him many thing about Kampong Cham Province but he seems know nothing. I was waiting about 20-30 minutes to request for paid invoice.

I stayed here after four weeks working in PP. It was excellent, had a front room looking over Mekong. Could easily walk to Bamboo Bridge, 'downtown' and along the river front. The biggest issue was no breakfast, so I walk to Smile Cafe one morning and LBN Asia Hotel and had one of the $5 buffet breakfasts. Dined on floor 12 one night, So a good spot to stay.

Dropped in for food 2 days running. Very happy with the food and prices. Never went inside the hotel section, so know nothing of that. If in that area again, would drop in for more calories. Its on the main walkway along the front, so easy to find.

Honestly, I don't get to write reviews often, for the simple reason that most of my experiences on the road are nice but that's it. Trying to contribute a bit in 2020, I'm going to start with this one. And in that case, it's kind of really really nice. I randomly chose a place over a booking website that I won't mention for avoiding cross-platform advertising issues. After crossing Bavet border by motorbike from Vietnam, Kampong Cham was the first city on my way. One of the main factors that led me to choose Sunrise Villa was the price, which was really cheap. But once I got there, I realized that the place was way above my expectations. Thol, the guest house owner, opens his family house to travelers. Staying there, I got a chance to get vibes from a local area. Forget huge hotels with high service and overcrowded dorms in backpacker hostels. Here, even if you're super comfy in a private room with ensuite shower, you'll literally be staying countryside (which is a fun word to use in that case as countryside is just about 10 minutes away or so from the town center by motorbike). Breakfast is simple but good, you can choose among 3 possibilities. Thol and his wife propose a laundry service and can cook lunch and dinner for a pretty cheap price. Besides, as I've been spending the New Year celebration at Sunrise Villa, I can tell that was quite something. I got to see how local people actually celebrate in villages out of town. Would definitely recommend the place, as I haven't seen any guest houses around Kampong Cham with such an affordable price for a local experience.

We stayed in this place for a week. We asked for a discount the receptionist said $10 a night after few hours we came back and the price suddenly change to $12. This is a discounted price since we are staying for a week. Our room was at the mezzanine area, big windows no view. It was a very comfortable place. The wifi is good, decent enough for online work. The staff are friendly your rented motorbike will be surely taken care 24hrs. The also help us with our food panda delivery. We just dont know when you go around we cant find a decent place to eat, but when you check the food panda app, tons of options. We find this city beautiful it just the people that not so nice as they overcharge way too much. We are aware if you are "barang" you pay extra but in general we just pay way too much. The hotel price was perfect, with amazing wood work. The place is clean and its very convenient to some nearby AMAZON cafe and small convenient store. We always stay out in front of the hotel at the riverside enjoying the view. MONOROM VIP Hotel, is perfect if you wanted some comfort during your stay in the city.
