Real value for money and the food was ok with regards to the current situation of the country, staff was friendly and specially Mr Saman the person who served us at the restaurant was really helpful and friendly. The location is away from the city and was calm and pleasant for relaxing.

We arrived on March 31st. This was our relaxing second week in Sri Lanka after a week of touring round the island. Our room (250) was on the first floor at the far end of the hotel with a spacious balcony overlooking the sea, the pool and fortunately for us, a rather quiet children’s play area. The room was clean and spacious and the air con was pretty good. The bathroom was fairly small and the shower leaked water onto the floor but this was the only minor fault. The hotel was quiet with not many guests staying. Apparently, it is popular with Ukrainians so with the current situation it was not surprising to find none there. The pool was excellent which was just as well as the sea was too rough to swim in with the red flag flying daily. Food was generally pretty good with a fair choice. The staff were great. Special mention must go to Ajith the Bar Captain who worked tirelessly for long hours assisted by the ever smiling Sajith ( Cheers for the Stout! ) Also, Mahesh who looked after the pool and allocated us the best pool loungers every day.0

The hotel is very spacious, beautiful and luxurious. We had a nice room facing the sea in the sixth floor. There was a nice reading space in our floor and enough elevators for convenience. We stayed 2 nights in the month of May and the hotel those days was less crowded. So we had a mini buffet in the hotel. However the buffet was really good. Food was ready exactly on time as well. Rooms are spacious tidy and the hotel staff were very caring and helpful.

Hotel Coconut Bay is the greatest place in Kalutara Sri Lanka to accomodate & Dinning. Also we arrange Tours & Royal Ayurvedic treatments with massage (100% natural medicines).
Very friendly personnel, the room was spacious, well-appointed, and very clean, and the breakfast buffet was sumptuous with local and international delicacies. All rooms faced the beach and the lagoon nearby the hotel. As well the hotel has its own luxury vehicles for any kind of trips around Sri Lanka. Paradise. It goes by many names to many people; the Elysian Fields, Valhalla, the Garden of Eden or simply, Sri Lanka. Tucked away in this island, cocooned amidst a tapestry of emerald hues you will find a quiet haven, seemingly lost in time. Come experience a slice of paradise at Glenross Plantation Villa. Serenity abounds in our little sanctuary set in a lush rubber estate in Neboda, Kalutara. Amidst the tropical flora you will come across a colonial planter’s bungalow, standing as it has from ages past keeping watch over the changing seasons. Georgian windows, gables and stone walls handcrafted by Ceylonese artisans over 125 years ago blend seamlessly with touches of modernity and style while preserving the old world charm of our luxury villa in Sri Lanka.
My wife wanted to go to this place & I was pleasantly surprised hearing there's a 50%-off offer going on when she made the reservation. The location is just amazing, so is the building and the setting overall! It's just amazing!! The staff was also really friendly & caring. They were also kind enough to prepare a breakfast item that was not originally on the menu for me. The room did not have facial tissues, so we had to request one. Toilet tissue roll was also half-gone. We had to request the napkins as well for the breakfast although the cuisine needed napkins. There were two 5-course meals (we stayed one night full-board), the vegetables in all dishes were over-boiled and the soup - I literally burnt my tongue. I just kept these to myself instead of complaining, because this is a time everyone in the country is struggling. Tourism is one of the hardest-hit. I just felt happy as I'm in a way contributing to the country by taking this trip, though it is just one drop into a larger ocean... My patience went out of the window when the guy brought a full-size fried rice as the 'main course' for the 5-course lunch. I selected that as it was supposed to be a Thai rice, but there wasn't anything Thai in it - it's pretty much the same fried rice you can purchase from almost anywhere in Colombo for a buck or two. I don't know whether any of these things are intentional with the half-price package. After all, it is for a different market segment who might actually come looking for fried rice (no disrespect intended to anyone). I asked for the menu again - the name is delicately worded where you can legally argue that it's actually fried rice and it's the eggs that came from Thailand :-) This looks like a serious business and I don't know why they have to go this cheap. In any case, would like to pay 100% price and come back someday for a proper stay!

This is a small but great place to stay the room we had was very comfortable with a very large bed, with a separate seating area, we had the use of a small kitchen with a small gas hob and fridge with everything we needed if choosing to cook for ourselves. The pool was great and very well maintained. Its a short walk to local restaurants. Nothing was to much trouble for the staff we liked it so much were going back next year. This hotel is right next to the beach but it's not one I would sunbath on the sea can be rough

It is where the Sun, Sand, Sea and Surf conspire to give you the perfect get-away….. You are greeted at the Hotel Lobby with the breath-taking view of the sea that is astutely complimented with Blue-Hues of the interiors which, co-exist in an understated yet elegant manner. Spend your day exploring the region on a guided excursion, or indulge in an afternoon of pampering at the Spa. The choice is yours, to soak up the Sun whilst you take a dip in the pristine infinity pool that overlooks the ocean. As the evening draws in, indulge in the spirits of sun-set at the bar, before sampling the assorted menu of international cuisine at the All Day Dining Restaurant. And if Sea-food is your calling, you can choose to end your day at the shore-side specialty restaurant feasting on the fresh catch of day. The resort offers view to the ocean or garden with two catagories of premier and deluxe room types; each spacious and exquisitely designed to create a comfortable ambience. Enjoy the luxuries of your haven as you take in the panoramic views of the ocean in the comfort of your private balcony.
Worst experience ever Please think twice before making reservations in this hotel. Though it is a Five Star Hotel worth just the sea view only for the money spend. Worst customer service I ever had. They even don’t care about their customers. Restaurant 01. We found an ant in the jam plate. 02. So many flies were in the restaurant and they just ignore it even if we complained. 03. Plates were not cleaned well (found dust) 04. Cutleries were not cleaned well (found dust) 05. Bakery items were not fresh. Room 01. Didn’t provide essential amenities (as this is a 5star hotel) such as hair dryer, toothpaste, shampoo, water glasses. 02. Hot water is not functioning. 03. Floor is not Not cleaned well and there were no any rugs or carpet. 04. No any room cleaning service 05. We received just two 500ml water bottles and they were charged for extra water. (In 5 start hotel, they are giving only 1l water for 24 hours for couple) 06. Door locks are not functioning well. (hard to lock and unlock) Overall 01. Careless treating to in-house guests. 02. List is not functioning. 03. Time to time they are asking to settle the restaurant bills. We were asked three times. 04. Card payments are not accepting, asking to pay by cash. 05. Not issuing a bill 06. They said there is no diesel so no electricity i have checked with them before i book the room they said they have a generator so no issue. But they were lying attracting customer like this 07. We have got a cake which is a fruit cake they have just covered the cake with chocolate syrup. That was not fresh. i suggest TripAdvisor to remove this hotel from this website
