During the winter, Jackson Hole is a wonderland of snow skiing, snowmobiling and ice-skating. Summer in Jackson Hole is all about hiking, whitewater rafting, golfing and horseback riding. When you come down off the slopes, you can choose from recreation options like dog sled tours, sleigh rides and wildlife and nature tours. During the summer, you better get your energy level up because kayaking, hang gliding, hot air ballooning, mountain biking and stagecoach rides are just a few of the many options available. For climbers, hikers and nature lovers, the nearby Grand Teton National Park is an absolute nirvana. The towering mountains of the Teton Range stretch 40 miles, and include eight mountains over 12,000 feet. Keep in mind, too, that Yellowstone National Park’s South Entrance is only 90 minutes away, and another 45 minutes or so to reach Old Faithful. If you’re looking for some serious, fast-paced family fun in Jackson Hole, try the Alpine Slide, where you slide down 2,500 feet of Snow King Mountain in a bobsled. For a calmer experience, enjoy the Bridger Gondola, which takes tram riders from the Teton Village to heights of 10,000 feet. Golf enthusiasts have access to some great golf with tee opportunities at Jackson Hole Golf & Tennis Club, a Robert Trent Jones Jr. design and Teton Pines Resort Golf Course, designed by Arnold Palmer.

Things I like: Very scenic property with the creek, the paths, the multiple places to sit on the property, the cabins themselves, walking distance to downtown Jackson Hole, rainforest shower, great pool (with warm water), hot tub, and sauna. We'll definitely stay here again if we're in the area. Rent a bike on site if you have the time and bike into Grand Teton National Park with the path that goes right by the hotel (on the other side of the street). You can bike 40 miles or more into the park - it's all paved and it's all flat, and it's very scenic. Things I'd like to see improved Hot water in the showers, a bathtub vs. shower only, better lighting in the fitness room so that you can read a magazine while working out The buffet breakfast offered a wide selection but I didn't think the quality of the food was top notch.

The Lodge at Jackson Hole has a great location near (but not in) the main downtown area with all the tourist shops. Although the hotel could use a facelift, the rooms were not bad. The staff were friendly and helpful - even the very overworked bartender/server and breakfast staff. Their service was great. The front desk staff were great too. Our biggest complaint is the lack of decent lighting in the rooms.

We chose this place for its proximity to downtown Jackson Hole. Easy walk to pretty much everything in town. Our room was on the second floor and getting all of our luggage up the stairs is something I wouldn't want to do again. There are many steps to the second floor! The rooms are on the small side and there's no fridge which was inconvenient as we are travelling and had to throw everything out. One huge inconvenience is the bathroom sink. Super small with virtually no counter space or shelves other than a shelf way under the sink. This is so easily remedied but they chose to put a modern bowl sink and so we had to juggle our toiletries constantly. Beds and linens are very comfy! Our room was made up twice and the towels and floor mat were taken but not replaced. There is coffee and refreshments available but twice it was cookies that were like hockey pucks - hard and burnt. I took one bite and threw the rest away. They also offer apple and oranges. The breakfast is very very good. And the breakfast area is very nicely arranged with cloth tablecloths. Very upscale! Every day they had large warm ham and cheese croissants ready to go if you are in a hurry. Lots of other choices - sweet breads, granola, fruit etc. The omelette chefs vary and the omelettes vary as well. The first day my husband RAVED about his omelette. The next day there was a different chef and his omelette was runny with way too much cheese. If I was younger I'd stay here again!

Hotel 142 rooms including suites, breakfast included in room rate, 24-hr desk service.
Excellent location, exceptionally clean, friendly staff. Price was good for the area. Only complaint was the contortionist routine you had to go through to close the bathroom door. Would definitely stay here again in the future. lol Great stay!

The Elk Refuge Inn is nestled up against the foothills that surround the National Elk Refuge, about two miles north of downtown Jackson and about a five-minute drive to the entrance to Grand Teton National Park. We are almost your last stop for lodging to hear to the Jackson Hole Airport, 15 minutes from our hotel. Our location is unique in that our guests are able to enjoy the breath-taking natural landscapes found in Jackson Hole while still in close enough proximity to the historic town of Jackson to easily drop in and enjoy the numerous local restaurants, shopping opportunities, family and adventure activities, as well as nightlife. The greatest experience we offer you is our service; we are not a road side motel or a hotel with hundreds of rooms; at our inn every guest is special. During the winter months, elk herds in the thousands come to feed at the refuge. Often times many other indigenous animals can be seen in and around the refuge such as big horn sheep, foxes, and even a bear now and again! We are truly lucky to have such a breath-taking location to share with our guests from all over the world. Thus we kindly invite you to enjoy Jackson Hole with a stay at the Elk Refuge Inn. We’re the perfect launching point for your outdoor adventures.
We are happy with our stay at Elk Refuge Inn. Check-in and out were quick and easy. The gal that checked us in shared a lot of information about the area that was very helpful. We stayed in a kitchenette room which allowed us to make our own meals if we wanted. The room was clean and spacious and the beds were comfortable. We had a great view of the Elk refuge right across the road. The only issue that we had was the fact that there is a busy road in front of the Inn which did create a lot of road noise during the day but fortunately at night there wasn't much noise. The Inn is located a short distance from the main area of Jackson which was great for us because we like an environment that is less busy. If you want to be in walking distance of restaurants, shops, etc. then this is not the place for you. Overall a great experience.

Located in the countryside down the road from Jackson, WY, Togwotee Mountain Lodge offers year round western adventure, with premier snowmobiling in the winter and easy access to 4 National Parks and Forests in the summer; Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park, Bridger-Teton National Forest and Shoshone National Forest.
We recently took a guy’s trip to Togwotee to snowmobile. We booked the trip back in the early fall and did one of the Winter Packages. The package made everything very easy. It included transportation from Jackson Hole airport, lodging, food and a guide for each day that we rode. Sue was already at the airport when we arrived and gave us a lot of suggestions and highlighted some of the area that we passed as we made the drive to the lodge. We stayed in the main building which was perfect for a few guys as the restaurant and bar were located downstairs. The food was excellent and the service was very good. Nice big breakfasts and the dinner specials were excellent. Due to staffing dinner was served in the bar but breakfast was in the Grill. We rented snowmobiles and the process was very easy. Our guide Benton was fantastic. He did a nice job giving us some background and showed us some amazing terrain. Even with low snow totals this winter he was able to bring us to some amazing backcountry areas. The riding was intense and challenging but we rode within our limits and Benton helped us quite a bit get unstuck. I would highly recommend a backpack with a lot of snacks with lots of water. You will be riding at a high altitude and will get thirsty. We did go into Jackson Hole one evening and enjoyed the sights but stayed at the lodge most of the time. Don’t bother packing a bathing suit for the hot tubs, those are now closed. Kelly and Dan drove us back into town for our flight and thankfully they told us to arrive early. This airport is very small and does not offer a lot of services. If you are looking for an amazing adventure I would highly recommend Togwotee Mountain Lodge.

We really liked this hotel. It appears refurbished and was very clean. The staff were all extremely helpful and nice. It definitely has the old western feel, which was what we wanted. If you are looking for a fancy, modern hotel, this is not it. We loved the "cowboy" decor and the "old school" feel. It is in a great location for "old" Jackson as everything in the downtown area is within walking distance. Like everything else in the area, it is expensive. However, if we ever go back to Jackson, we will consider staying here.

In the 1960s, Founder Glenn Napierski saw many visitors to Jackson Hole sleeping in their cars. He built The Virginian Lodge as a place for these families to stay, have fun, and build memories. Today, the same holds true. We want the travelers, drifters, locals, and adventure seekers who pull into our lodge to feel well taken care of and welcome to enjoy all that the area has to offer. At The Virginian, we create opportunities for people to come together and make unique and lasting memories. We help keep the spirit of the West alive, keep people dreaming, and keep people coming back.
My wife and I spent 4 days at the Virg and had a great experience. The room was modern and well appointed. The pool and hot tubs were amazing, not to mention all of the fire pits. One of the things that makes a stay special is its staff. You can tell when a place is run smoothly when it's employees are happy. Kudos to its management!
