Serving as the main port town for the island of the same name, the town of Ischia has been inhabited for centuries, famous for its beaches and the healing waters of its spas. The town is divided in two: Ischia Porto is the harbor district and commercial center of the island, filled with brightly lit taverns and bars, and Ischia Ponte, the historic quarter, with its ancient castle and its stone streets seemingly frozen in time.

Spent 4 wonderful nights in Ischia Porto at the Aragona Palace with 2 friends. You couldn’t get a better location in Porto, right on the water and next to a row of fantastic bars and restaurants. The staff were all friendly and extremely helpful, nothing was too much bother. Rooms were spacious and clean with beautiful sea views from the balconies. Rooftop pool and solarium were lovely. My friend enjoyed her treatment in the spa. Great caffe doppio at breakfast and a good selection of breakfast foods. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

The Mediterranean-style Hotel Solemar is situated directly on one of the most beautiful beaches of the island, but thanks to its unique position, it is also in the heart of one of the most elegant and famous centres in Ischia. You can go directly from your room dressed in your swimwear, take a dip in the healthy waters of our thermal baths, and dive into the inviting waves of the Mediterranean Sea before taking a rest to sunbath on our beach, which is particularly well maintained.
We booked to stay 5 nights at hotel solemar. The pictures looked good, but upon arriving it was clear they had been flattering to deceive. Check in was rather chaotic, the hotel was clearly understaffed and most had poor customer relations skills, preferring to defer any and all questions to a polite but overworked young lady on the front desk. there were also many raucous teenagers who were left unsupervised and despite the complaints of a few guests the hotel did nothing. The location of the hotel was good and very central for shops and restaurants, but the hotel overall was extremely disappointing, the breakfast was of poor quality and process was again rather chaotic where guests were expected to queue in a small hall way, where it was not easy to social distance and the process was rather drawn out. The view from the hotel is definitely one of the hotels strengths but overall Hotel Solemar is simply over priced for what it delivers .

As with all stays, the real importance is how relaxed and welcome you feel. In that, the Rivamare scores 100%. Constanza, running the desk, was a miracle of hospitality. For the (brutal) length of those 12 hour shifts, nothing was too much trouble, nothing was omitted, and nothing but friendliness. Outstanding. Breakfast was also served with exceptional professionalism, a real credit to the industry. Thank you so much for making our stay such a pleasure, and such a happy memory.

Hotel Hermitage Terme SPA Ischia is a lifestyle. The hotel was built in 196 and has been constantly renovated while maintaining the Mediterranean style that characterises it, conceived and wanted in this way, in the simplicity and professionalism that distinguish the true sense of hospitality. A brand new and arduous project, the result of daring style choices, which make it full of personality. The feeling of true hospitality that comes from the heart and passion of Eduardo & Cinzia. With a modern attitude but old and strong in wisdom. The 105 rooms of the Hotel Hermitage are distinguished by fineness and charm. You can admire the splendid panorama of the fishing village of Ischia Ponte from our terraces and the majestic Aragonese Castle, an icon of the island of Ischia. At the Hermitage you can experience many opportunities: a romantic and charming holiday, a holiday entirely dedicated to wellness, a spa holiday and also conference stays, where you can combine work with moments of relaxation.
I stayed here for a week to do the "relax package" and it was definitely not relaxing. Firstly, what it says on the site is included in the package was misleading. It is a face mask and a foot rub for 30 minutes, no total "massage" or "face/body consultation". My room was fine, but not what you expect from a 4-star hotel. My shower had rust in it, there were cracks in the walls, and the rooms are very loud (you can hear everything). Much of the staff was helpful and very nice, which I appreciated. But overall this was a very disappointing experience. I would only recommend staying here if you find a VERY good deal.

I was nervous about traveling alone to Ischia. Lovely woman at check-in was quick, efficient & so helpful. The whole staff couldn't do enough for me. My bed was super comfortable w enough pillows. I absolutely loved the chill vibe at this hotel. Not to mention the spectacular view every evening for cocktails by the pool. The food was amazing. You must have the Lemon Risotto. Wait staff are so kind & patient with my horrible Italian. I've traveled many times to Italy & sometimes they're not so accommodating to Americans, but this hotel is a must.

If you love endless space, breathtaking views, peace and tranquility but you also want the convenience of living in the center, then the Hotel Le Querce is the place for you. In the heart of the island of Ischia, perched on the coast, Le Querce Hotel enjoys an enviable position with stunning views of Procida, Vivara and the beautiful Aragonese Castle. It is located near the port of Ischia, in a quiet but central area. Located across the street where you find the most prestigious villas on the island of Ischia, the hotel is housed in an elegant building from the '70s revisited in Mediterranean style, has indoor and outdoor pool, spa and wellness center, free parking and large terraces surrounded by lush gardens and flowers. The 75 rooms have private balcony or terrace, most of them have sea views. In the spring you can relax in the lounges of the Rose Bar, maybe over a cup of tea, while admiring a stunning view over the Gulf of Naples. In summer you can enjoy fresh and fruity cocktails, while at night you can listen to good music and enjoy a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The games room and TV lounge are the ideal place for leisure, while the conference room is ideal for hosting small meetings, conferences and meetings. Pets not allowed.
Chose this hotel mainly based on price as was looking for an affordable week away (M-F) with partner. Having read reviews found it appeared to mostly cater for non-UK guests and some reviews (especially from UK visitors) weren’t great BUT I do not understand how anyone can say anything negative about this hotel! We arrived around 11pm and were warmly greeted by a lovely man on reception who checked us in and took our cases to our room. The room was huge, and the view from our massive (shared with next door room) terrace was absolutely stunning! I had upgraded to a superior sea view room and this was well worth it. The decor was traditional but immaculately clean and the kingsize bed probably the comfiest I’ve ever had on a holiday! (And the pillows WOW!) Room was cleaned and bedding and towels changed every day. (Only teeny issue is shower door only opens so far, anyone size 18plus may have struggled to squeeze in.) Breakfast was beautiful and fresh, typical continental, with the offer of fresh eggs/omelette, service throughout very friendly and attentive. The walk to the town/port is only about 15/20 minutes and is a lovely walk, not too steep for anyone with a low to normal fitness level. Lots of beautiful cafes and restaurants in the area and Aragonese Castle well worth a visit. Every time we left/returned to the hotel we were welcomed warmly. The hotel was very quiet when we visited (end May) we saw no more than about 10 other guests, so the pool was also lovely and quiet with plenty of beds available. (I’d worried after reading about needing a swim cap, but just wore a baseball cap in the pool and no one commented.) We had drinks in the bar one night and they came with delicious warm mini-pizzas. (Around €6 for 2 beers so fantastic value!) We ate dinner in the hotel restaurant on 2 nights and the service was exceptional - we’re a young-ish couple but I really liked the slightly formal (but incredibly friendly!) dinner service. All staff were very polite and very attentive at all times. There’s no price on the menu displayed at the restaurant entrance, and I’d struggled to find menu or price online before our visit, but we paid €45 for a 4 course dinner. Which for the quality and quantity was well worth it! The house white was also incredible. Overall an absolutely fantastic hotel, I would definitely return! Don’t be put off by the fact it’s not targeting the UK market, everyone is so friendly - and speaks great English, but they also really appreciate us trying some Italian too! Ischia is gorgeous and so is this hotel!

We stayed at the Hotel Continental Ischia for a week at the end of Sept. Check in was quick and easy. A member of staff lead us to our room. After going up and down several flights of stairs we arrived at room 339. It was on the 3rd (top) floor on the corner of the block. Room was nothing like the pictures on the web. It was very small, tired, dark, gloomy and depressing. Furniture was out of the ark. We could only get two English speaking channels CNN and another channel. The hotel said BBC was on the TV but we asked a member of staff to help find it but they couldn't. Air con was good. The Balcony in the bedroom was tiny with lots of foliage nearly coming into the bedroom, this also blocked any light getting into room. When we used the shower water leaked onto the floor causing a slip hazard. We thought about requesting a change but we couldn't be botherd and did not plan to be in room much. Breakfast was very basic, not much choice, you had to ask for proper orange juice and they would do you a plain omelette if you asked. Dinner was inedible, possibly the worst food I have had on holiday. The waiters worked really hard but it was like something out of faulty towers. Start by helping yourself to a very basic salad. You ordered your starter and main from your waiter and sat at the same table during your stay. Starters were fine (soup/pasta) but main courses were very strange. I tried sausage, but it was mainly gristle, fish was cold and topped with shaved raw potato I think?? Cheese on toast (cheese not melted on bread not toasted).Tough thin sliced beef in sauce with random veg on side. Stringy spinach most days. Fennel covered in cheese sauce, yuck!!. My husband will eat any thing, even he struggled to eat. After 4 meals we decided to have lunch instead of dinner. Get there at 1 sharp, don't wait politely, get your elbows in otherwise you won't get any thing. It's all gone in about 20 mins. We enjoyed the pools and had no trouble getting sun loungers, however the way the hotel is designed you end up moving around all day chasing the sun. Evening entertainment was very loud, even with our window shut it kept us awake until midnight. Then the next door neighbours would get back and put TV on. We might as well have been in the same room with them. We could hear everything, even bodily functions. They smoked on balcony and the smell crept through. We was glad to go home.
