Reviewed By musafir163My family and I stayed at the West Gulf Holiday Hotel for one night this past June. My parents were teaching in nearby Quanzhou. We decided that a weekend getaway was in order, and so we took a 50-minute cab ride to Chongwu, a wonderful seaside town. We did not have a reservation, but the hotel staff was very friendly in helping us book a room for the night. There was a slight language barrier, but the manager spoke better English and was very polite. He made sure our reservation was handled smoothly and even led us to our room. The resort itself is lovely, with stone sculptures of animals and seashells, an expansive swimming pool, a separate children's pool, and a beachfront promenade. The lobby is beautifully decorated with columns, wood paneling, and crimson upholstery. There is a soothing fragrance that permeates the lobby as well. And close to the lobby is a gallery of shops selling swimming paraphernelia, rain ponchos (which came in handy), jade, and tea. The beach is pleasant, and I'd highly recommend walking there during the evening when the resort plays music on loudspeakers. Now, our room was very nice as well. It had two queen beds and a large balcony with a view of a temple. It was nice to just sit there and soak in the experience. The carpet was clean as well, although I think it could have been a bit more so. Also, there was a little wire from underneath the carpet that was sticking out. The bathroom was large and clean, with two sinks, a shower, and a traditional wooden bathtub. I'd highly recommend using that tub as it's something not featured everywhere else. As for meals, my family and I had dinner and breakfast at the hotel, and we were pleased with both. They have large buffets as well as a menu from which to make selections. If you're in Fujian Province and want to see the ocean, definitely come to the West Gulf Holiday Hotel in Chongwu. It's a family-friendly resort that's perfect for a weekend getaway.

Reviewed By Drc1250Stayed at the which was very nice and spacious. Whole family was very happy. Restaurant choices have dropped a bit since the last stay 3 years ago. However, relatively, this is the still hotel of choice.

Reviewed By Drc1250Decent hotel with the necessities included. In a small city like Huian this is considered one of the better ones in the city. Rooms tend to be a bit smokey esp for the folks who are sensitive to smoke. Noisy at night as there is KTV on the 4th/5th floor - singing goes to the wee hours esp on a holiday eve. There is a pretty good Chinese restaurant on the 3rd. Breakfast has improved to provide a decent selection. Some amenities provided in the bathroom eg shavers etc are charged so be aware.

服务很差 找个管事的都没有 酒店卫生不好
Reviewed By lolo201207空调漏水溅了一桌子 找个师傅差不多把空调拆了才修好，弄了一桌子一地的水。 入住客房里床垫是臭的 注意 是床垫！刚到太累了中午午睡时给熏醒的，一股骚臭味，根本没法睡，只好换房，加收了清洁费才给换！ 换房间的时候觉得态度和服务太差想要投诉，被告知经理不在，没有一个能管事的，想要跟经理电话联系投诉，经理根本不接电话，感觉很无奈~！

Reviewed By riutbaguserI've stayed here more than 5 times often for two or more weeks. And I love it. You need someone who speaks Chinese with you to check in and out. It's the cheapest hotel in Hui'an, the beds are huge, the rooms are cleaned every day and you get free water and fruit every day. I'm a fan of the simple local cuisine so the huge buffet breakfast and lunch are just perfect. I have rice, veg and eggs every morning before setting off to work. I feel totally safe and very much st home. There's a super market just across the road and plenty of local restaurants. The only downsides is that you'll often have call girls' cards pushed under your door night and the karaoke can be too loud at night. Ask for a different room and they'll gladly move you if there's space and just pack ear plugs :)
