This since 1446 family owned Boutique Resort Hotel with 64 non-smoking rooms and suites is located in one of the most beautiful areas of Germany: the Southern Black Forest in the little town of Hinterzarten. The family owned hotel is headed by Katja Newman in the 16th generation. She combines both tradition and modernity in a perfect way. Last renovation: 2000. A very individual and cordial service makes guests feel at home. The individually styled rooms and suites are mainly located in the main building. Allergy sufferers will find very cosy rooms in the typical Black Forest House, some with a low ceiling height (around 1,90m). It was built in 1639 and houses the regional "Adler Stuben" restaurant. Kids will find a lot of space to play. If the weather is nice they can enjoy discovering the outdoor playground, ping pong and volleyball in the hotelpark. Mountainbike and slides can be rented out for free. For indoor activities the hotel offers an indoor playground. The spacious family suites and rooms are available for families with up to 3 children. The modern Wellness Pavillon with its 1.800 square meters is located in the beautiful private 4 acres hotelpark. Relax and enjoy a heated indoor and outdoor pool (both opened the whole year round), an indoor and outdoor jacuzzi, different saunas, a steambath, a gym, solarium, a SPA with a selected offer of beauty and health treatments, last but not least - a hairdresser. The Parkhotel Adler is rich in tradition. It is the perfect place for guests seeking for relaxation or an action-packed break. Another highlight for Parkhotel Adler guests: free greenfee on the 18-hole golfcourse "Hochschwarzwald", only a 10 minutes drive away from the hotel.

It was also very nice that we really felt children were genuinely welcome and their needs were also taken into consideration. We enjoyed a wonderful time im Schwarzwald!

Friendly, cosy and close to trains and buses
Reviewed By PR MWithin easy reach of train station, excellent location, typical Black Forest house, very pleasant and clean. The owner and team were very friendly and helpful. Excellent varied buffet breakfast. Brilliant coffee and free tea and coffee in the lounge at all times. Very comfortable bed but furniture and bathroom colour scheme somewhat dated. I understood that the owners are in the process of refurbishing the rooms. Good value for money. I would book this hotel again. Felt at ease here and enjoyed my stay.

Titisee Lake - Short Break in Black Forest

Due to the fact that it is not easy to find a hotel room for a family of five, we decided to give it a go and try an Apartment-Hotel this time. And it was a right choice! ? The Apartment-Hotel is situated on a small hill directly on Titisee Lake. It is a complex of three Apartment Blocks linked together. Each Apartment has a balcony with a stunning view towards Lake and Mountains. Amazing! The Apartment itself was very specious. There was a separate Master-Bedroom with a very comfortable bed, a living room with a sleeping couch and well equipped kitchen and a small bathroom. NATURE TITISEE Apartments does offer a good breakfast every morning. The food was very good, fresh and nicely prepared. The only negative thing was a lack of vegetables. Actually there were none! My tip for the management: please offer some tomatoes, paprikas, onions, cucumbers, lettuce, etc. Believe me, it will make a difference. On a positive note – the Scrambled eggs were awesome ? The Apartment-Hotel is situated not in a centre of the town, which is actually good as it was very quiet there. All amenities, like shops, restaurants are located within a short walk distance tough. Altogether it was a nice break in a very clean and well-designed Apartment-Hotel – very much recommended.

Charming Black Forest Experience
Reviewed By Jeff AWe had a family meet up here in honor of family members who passed and regularly stayed here each summer. We had people from Chicago, Detroit, Netherlands and Switzerland. The hotel was charming from the moment we arrived until the minute we left. The staff was very professional and were very kind to us non German speakers. The food was very good. The hotel is only a short walk to the charming downtown. Plus it is convenient for hiking in the forest. This hotel is a solid choice if you are in the area.

Reviewed By meatja13A warm welcome, comfortable rooms and an inventive and delicious cuisine. The hotel is in beautiful surroundings and our room was spacious and comfortable with a balcony. The meals at the hotel were superb. Herr Fehenbach explains what each course is and how it is locally sourced. He uses herbs and vegetables from his garden and the locality. His flavour combinations are unusual but delicious. He is a warm and welcoming host. We stayed here as part of a walking holiday and it was a real highlight.

There is a relaxing lounge with comfortable chairs, a great library and a piano (if you wish to entertain :-). The breakfast served is different, no run off the mill bread/ham/egg, but all this plus loads and loads of small dishes with homemade jams, herb butters, pastes, dressings etc. A treat. The entire decor is clearly aligned with the vision of the owner.

Reviewed By EricL211The hotel consists of rooms as well as rooms in houses nearby which are spacious and beautifuly clean and roomy. It makes it a better experience than in an overcluttered hotel. The breakfast excellent and the staff could not be more kind and efficient. Views over the lake are exceptional. We will definatly return.

A bright spot in The Black Forest
Reviewed By Trine BGifting ourselves with a luxurious spa experience, my oldest friend and I chose Erfurths Bergfried in Hinterzarten primarily for the excellent beauty offers. The booking procedure was somewhat problematic as we seemingly wanted more beauty treatments than the average guest, which was pointed out to us several times by the hotelier himself - not a very customer friendly attitude in a 4 star superior establishment to let your guest know in so many words, that you are actually a nuisance, because you want to spend good money - but the problems were solved beautifully when left in the competent hands of the excellent and professional staff in the beauty department, which is highly recommendable. Room, beds and bathroom excellent - the all over impression is of a very clean and well kept establishment - a really lovely bath- and sauna area with very fine service in the towel and refreshment department. Problems with WiFi in our room was fixed immediately Food really excellent - an experience in itself - if you are a foodie, you’ll not be disappointed. Service around breakfast and dinner runs smoothly and relaxed. The staff is friendly, helpful and easygoing, which to us as Danes is most comfortable! The establishment encourages a quiet and relaxing atmosphere and is very successful at that - the exception being at dinner, where conversations flows freely encouraged by the staff - but beware of entertaining yourself with friendly conversation over breakfast as you risk to offend the faint hearted and find yourself at the receiving end of insulting remarks from guests leaving their table, because”it’s impossible to read ones morning paper in this Italian level of volume”. The hotel offers a very beautiful salon for the purpose of reading papers in a quiet ambience, so no need to insult other guests just because they actually have something to talk about. The staff should be aware of such minor incidents and guide the guests - it actually ruined my last breakfast at the hotel and made a dent in my joy of the stay. A lovely place - especially the beauty/ massage department. Really recommendable, but if you want to indulge in beauty and massage treatments be very aware to point out your wishes regarding time of day, order of shedules etc. or even better - if possible make the appointments directly with the staff in the beauty department as they are very flexible.
