With rooms overlooking the racecourse, Premier Inn Hereford is a beautiful base for exploring the area - whether you're sampling cider, browsing bookshelves or losing yourself in Hampton Court Castle & Gardens. You could wander to Hereford Cathedral and see the ancient 'mappa mundi' - a medieval map of the world. Sample a proper pint of scrumpy at the Hereford Cider museum or the Weston's Cider Mill. And, for business, you're within easy reach of Bulmers/Heineken, Cargil and Special Metals. Our friendly team will help you enjoy your stay to the full and our new, modern rooms and extra-comfy Hypnos beds will have you relaxing into the land of nod in no time.
Clean room with everything you could need, slept for 8 hours straight, haven't done that in 3 years, lovely breakfast too. If you're lucky enough to meet Pete on reception he could literally change your life!!! Best advice EVER!!!!

Our Hereford Blackfriars Street hotel is in a great location for exploring this historic market town. It's next to Hereford's Old Market shopping centre, where you can shop for plenty of high street brands, and less than a five-minute walk from Edgar Street stadium - the home of Hereford FC. Hereford is a major historical site; the 17th Century Black and White House Museum and the world's largest medieval map, the Mappa Mundi, are both under a mile away from our hotel. When you're feeling peckish, stop by our in-house Thyme restaurant for a delicious meal and when you're done for the day, look forward a relaxing sleep on one of our super-comfy Hypnos beds.
We have stayed in many Premier Inns around the country but this one is definitely in a league of its own. Customer service is obviously very important to the team and they all go out of the way to do the best they can. The hotel is spotlessly clean from reception and the Thyme 'restaurant' to the rooms and corridors. As other reviewers have said we must single out Pete for special mention. Nothing was too much trouble and he genuinely seemed interested in talking to us about our time in Hereford.

Somerville House is a beautiful detached Victorian villa, dating back to 1895, in a tree-lined residential road, offering 'boutique' hotel style Bed and Breakfast accommodation, and blending the luxury and comfort of a good hotel with warm and friendly service. We have 12 en suite rooms, arranged on ground, lower-ground, and first and second floors, with free wifi available in all.The large superior rooms and charming top floor rooms, with interesting beam features, are decorated in a contemporary style, contrasting with and enhancing the many original features - the glorious tesselated entrance hall floor, tiny plaster cupid heads, and the grand marble fireplaces. 5 mins walk railway station, 10 minutes walk city centre, free carpark.
What a fantastic stay at this 5 star b and b. The hosts Sheila and Steve were so welcoming and had thought of everything a guest could want. My friend and I had a great 3 nights in this beautiful place enjoying the guest house and its lovely surroundings. It was comfortable, clean and a tasty breakfast too. What more could we want?

Stayed for 1 night, woken up at around 5.30 am by noise that went on for ages bathroom door when shut sounded like gunfire, breakfast was not the best at all , bacon sent back only to receive a worst rasher sausage & tomato also terrible.Had a drink in lounge,a baileys which didn’t even cover the bottom of glass , amused I asked if it was a joke. The only joke was the price we paid for a terrible experience, on complaining we were told we had a discount, so glad we didn’t pay full price offered 20% off stay but considering we did not sleep or eat well was not appreciated. I am still waiting for manager to contact me to discuss issues after sending 3 emails. Avoid room 101

16 of us stayed on a stop-off on route to a big family reunion. Upon check-in, I was first to the desk and I was asked my name, given a key and allowed in. The following people in our group were all asked a booking confirmation number (which was kept by the Booking Lead who was on a motorway and unable to send anything) and so were made to wait 40 minutes until she was able to respond and send them their information over (even though I wasn’t asked for this - literally not even the Booking Leads name, just mine?). *side note, we arrived in dribs and drabs, we didn’t overwhelm the receptionist*. Once in, I found my room basic, not very clean, stunk of weed and stuffy as hell. The bed was big, comfy and the amenities were ample (tv, kettle, tea, coffee, milk, sugar, towels, room fan). There are no facilities to eat or get a meal but I’m unaware of whether or not this is uniform for Travelodge. There is a huge Sainsbury’s on the back, and a petrol station. To the front is a Cider Museum (unfortunately being Easter weekend - all 3 were closed). I ended up getting a takeaway delivered. Around 9-10pm it became evident that there was to be no sleep had. The room adjoining mine (room 15) to the back of the bed seemed to be occupied by someone who couldn’t sit still nor walk like a normal person - all night long (in between loud, noisy bouts of intercourse). At 1am-6am the hallways came alive. We had a delightful character roaming the hallway with a speaker system playing Elton John on full blast, screeching a rendition over the top of that outside my door. It seemed every other room on my floor wanted to play a game of ‘who can slam their door the loudest and the most before the sun rises’. People were up and down shouting and acting the fool all night long. Needless to say, my 1 year old daughter didn’t find it soothing nor pleasant and so joined in with her own rendition aka screaming in hysterics because she was so tired and wanted the noise to stop (I can only imagine how daunting it just be hearing so much noise and screaming and banging when you’re in a strange place). The room was around 29338282°c - give or take a couple degrees. I can’t say for sure due to the fact my thermometer broke some point during the night due to unprecedented levels of heat. You guessed it - I didn’t get a wink of sleep. I paid £40 to lie awake for over 11 hours, with a hysterical and frightened toddler. 6am came around and we were packed up and in the car and gone! I’m aware the hotel can’t be held accountable for its guests or what they choose to do - I’m not completely arrogant to that fact. However it just spoilt the entire stay and set the start of our holiday off on a bad foot. I guess that’s the risk you take when treating yourself to a getaway on a weekend / bank holiday. Pros: *big rooms *good amenities *close to large supermarket / petrol station Cons *check ins are pot luck *no facilities to eat *not the cleanest *noisy, very thin walls *room temperature unbearable even with room fan on

Charades is only a five minute walk from the town, bus and railway stations. A fine Victorian property in a conservation area retaining many original features. A friendly atmosphere welcomes you with fine views of Hereford Cathedral. Rooms have en-suite facilities and hospitality trays. Conservatory overlooking the beautiful gardens are open to our guests. Free ample off road parking.
We had an enjoyable stay at Charades. The room was on the ground floor and spacious. This was probably the cleanest place I have every stayed, I think real effort is put into keeping the rooms clean. The sheets felt luxurious and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good as well. Would stay again!

City centre hotel close to public transport and local attractions
I stayed one night at the Merton hotel and was very glad that I did. It's not fancy, but it's clean, it's comfortable, and the staff were very friendly and helpful to me. Plus, the location was perfect, right near the train station and the bus station- with a grocery store just down the street. I had originally booked into a guesthouse on the other side of town and found it did not suit my needs at all, so this was a last minute booking that I was especially grateful to have made. I would definitely stay here again, for a short term visit.

This was a pleasant surprise and exceeded our expectations. On arrival we were greeted by Maria who assisted with us changing to a room with a double bed, I’d booked a twin by mistake. The guest house has a variety of rooms and we opted to have a room with its own little court yard. The room, bathroom and patio area were spotlessly clean, warm and welcoming. Great tea and coffee facilities and the breakfast was amazing, thanks to Anne. A nice touch was that you had the option to purchase snacks and drinks, alcoholic/ none alcoholic drinks from the bar area. Maria was extremely helpful and very friendly providing us with all the information we needed for a comfy stay, even giving us a street map of the town. Everything was in easy walking distance and the parking area was ample. All in all great central location, great spotlessly clean guesthouse, value for money and fantastic service. We have booked to come again.

I booked into this place for a two night stay, only because their info said it was walking distance to all the sights a person would want to see in Hereford. I guess that much was true, but It was a matter of risking life and limb just to cross the very busy street that the guesthouse is located on. I had taken a cab from the train station and he wasn't able (or willing) to find a parking spot anywhere near the place, so I walked the extra block to get to the door. I saw no humans at all. Very impersonal and slightly creepy to check in to a place, find your room, following notes and emails as if it is being run remotely from space. I saw the form to fill out for breakfast, but decided to give it a miss. Found my room, which to be fair, was fine. Clean, comfortable- really nothing wrong with it. Facing the street with the traffic, but the window didn't open anyway, so it would probably be okay. I stayed for one night. In the morning I decided that I wasn't willing to spend another night in a place where I felt so uncomfortable. Again, probably more me than the actual place- but it was just so strange. Plus the bathroom was not only shared, it was down a flight of stairs! I'm a senior woman, no thank you. I checked out early and found somewhere else to stay. The one point in its favour was the proximity to the Cathedral, the Mappa Mundi and to several stores, bus routes. So much traffic it was not a great walking experience and I certainly would never drive there. So that's it for me and the town of Hereford. Live and learn.
