Home to the oldest university in Germany, Heidelberg was hit hard during 17th-century wars and rebuilt in the 18th century with baroque buildings. For a pleasant walk, stroll through the historic city center's Gothic streets. Be sure to take in Heidelberg Castle, the symbolic heart of the city; Alte Brucke, a beautiful 18th-century bridge; and the Student Jail. Built as long ago as the 16th century, it was used to keep mischievous students off the streets for three days to a month at a time. And they say Penn State is the number-one party school!

Best situatedyou find our charming hotel directly at the old bridge in the center of the romantic od town of heidelberg. In a few minutes you can walk to the castle, the university, the bridge and the world famous "Philosopenweg" from where you have an outstanding view over the old town.We have 10 double- and 2 singlerooms as well as 4 suites, partly with wonderful view on the river and the bridge, the old town and the castle. Our breakfast buffet expect you in our cosy restaurant " Wirtshaus zum Nepomuk" which is also very charming in the evening. We serve excellent regional cuisine. When the weather is fine, we also serve breakfast in our romantic courtyard before you walk around the city.We can't promise quiet rooms as we are in town. There's a churchbell ringing, birds are singing, people are talking in the courtyard or the terrace an as well we are a wellknown restaurant, we sometimes have weddings or birthdayparties. But we try our best to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Hope to see you soon.
I would not recommend this hotel. Upon check-in the manager was confused about the reservations for two rooms and booked both guests into one room. When questioned he later found the second reservation but blamed us for his confusion. We ultimately found alternate accommodations in another hotel and enjoyed the stay in Heidelberg.

On a visit in Heidelberg with friends, locals recommended Qube's Signature Bar. It was a huge success. The music, atmosphere and overall vibe were just right for a relaxing evening with drinks. Faruk, the bar manager, made us a variety of special house creation drinks which were out of this world. Mad love. Will go again.

The NH Heidelberg is located right in the center of Heidelberg, perfect for visiting the city and Rhine-Neckar Metropolitan Region. Heidelberg is a spectacular city known for its tourist attractions, world-leading companies, science and research labs, and prestigious universities. A major sports/concert arena and a conference center are just 15-20 minutes away from the hotel.
Walking distance to the city center. Excellent restaurant near by. Very good buffet breakfast. Very friendly staff. Very convenient price-quality ratio. However, I also would like to say that there is room for improvements.

This elegant hotel is a beautiful 19th-century villa in the heart of Heidelberg, directly overlooking the Neckar River and a short walk from all historic attractions.Opened as a hotel in 2006, the Villa Marstall offers a range of stylish rooms which are classically furnished with solid wooden furniture and cherry-wood floors. All rooms feature all modern amenities, including a small fridge, 40/32-inch LCD TV and free internet access. All rooms are non-smoking with fresh-air AC ventilation to guarantee complete comfort.
We stayed in a standard room facing the river on the first floor (second floor to Americans). The room was comfortable and clean, though small. The staff at the reception were friendly and helpful, both via email when making the reservations and throughout our stay. We spent two nights with the "Experience Heidelberg" package. The package was exactly as we had anticipated, and the dinner included at the Zum Güldenen Schaf was excellent, but simply too much food! We truly enjoyed our breakfasts in the renovated basement with vaulted stone ceilings. The buffet food was good and plentiful. We took the #32 bus to and from the train station to the hotel. The bus stop is less than a block from the hotel. We look forward to returning to Heidelberg and will make the Villa Marstall our base of operations again.

Our hotel is situated directly in the heart of Old Town Heidelberg opposite the famous Old Bridge. Thanks to its unique location, all major Heidelberg sights can be reached on foot. Most of the 39 rooms offer a spectacular view over the Neckar River, the Old Bridge, and the Philosopher's Walk. All rooms are equipped with either bathtub or shower, toilet, hair-dryer, cable-TV, radio, mini-bar, safe, direct dial telephone, free Wi-Fi and soundproof windows. In addition some rooms also have air-conditioning. The front office is manned 24 hours. An elevator, rooms for the additional needs of handicapped people as well as a free business corner in the lobby including internet access and printer round up the services. The hotel is a non-smoking property. Pets are welcome upon request - additional charges apply. In the mornings you can either have a light business breakfast or enjoy our substantial breakfast buffet offering a variety of cold and warm dishes. For a couple of minutes, to load or unload your luggage, your car can stay directly in front of the hotel. Our front office staff will then show you the way to one of the public garages nearby (additional charges apply). At the restaurant Zum Spreisel in the same building but under separate management, you enjoy regional and international dishes. During warm weather your meal is also served outside on the terrace in front of the hotel.
Our stay was quite unfortunate. Let me start with the good points: The location of the hotel is perfect for tourists. Our rooms had a river view and the view was great. The city of Heidelberg had generally problems with Wifi, but the hotel offered a nicely working wifi. Now, the negative comments: Firstly, the hotel staff was not helpful and they were not welcoming. We especially had some communication problems with the front office staff Mr. Huber (staff member at the breakfast was an exception, he was very smiling and happy to assist us. Upon check in, he told us that the breakfsst situation in the hotel, whether there would be a breakfast or not, was unsure and they will decide it according to the number of customers. WE WERE VERY LUCKY, because there were “enough” guests and a breakfast buffet was ready. We experienced something we didn’t encounter before at any hotel. After check in, Mr. Huber told us tuat there will be a water outage in the morning for 4 hours. Because of this, we needed to fill in the garbage boxes and water glasses inside the room to use. LUCKILY the problem was solved early and we only had 30-40 minutes of water problem. In short, the hotel is NOT OKAY for long accommodations and for those who want to spend time in the facility. If you only want to use the hotel to sleep at night, you can book a room.
