This is a truly magical hotel, and I think one of my favourites I have ever stayed in. Stunning location overlooking the valleys below, beautiful design works everywhere, art, mind blowing breakfasts and 5 course dinners worthy of a Michelin star. All with helpful, friendly, yet humble staff that make you feel completely at home. Incredible walks in the national park right from the front door, pools, waterfall… honestly take my word for it, it is an absolute gem of a place which I recommend 100%! Staff are not friendly or welcoming. We were checked in without checking our vaccine certificate or negative Covid test, which is against present national regulations. The room is painted brown and we would expect better furnishings from this category of hotel. The minibar was unplugged and when asked why the receptionist said she could not explain, but none were presently working. Breakfast was ok, but again for this hotel category they could iron the table cloths before laying the tables. All the cloths were rumbled and frankly looked used. The staff is not welcoming or friendly there either. The pool area did not appear to be well maintained. The grass needed trimming. We booked and paid for a room with a balcony, but on calling the hotel were told there were none available, but were offered instead the more expensive room at the cheaper rate. Seems odd rooms with balconies are less expensive. There was good water and the bed was comfortable.

This property checks every box. Staff and Service. Top notch where nothing is too much trouble. Everyone has a smile and the overall vibe is delightful. There was an issue with WiFi in my room and it was responded to quickly and effectively. Food. Absolutely wonderful. The dinner menu at 40 Euros is a bargain... apertif, amuse boche, breads, starter, soup, main, dessert, and coffee. The food is well prepared and the portions are ample. I note the size of portions is much better than a previous stay seven years ago. Room. I stayed in the suite and love its ambience. Snacks. From 4 PM to 6 PM there is a selection of snacks... sweet and savory. They are diverse and change every day. I am unable to find anything that I would change. Highly recommended.

Myself and my husband recently stayed in the Casa de Sao Lourenco. From the pictures on the website we knew it was a stunning hotel but every aspect of it exceeded all our expectations. The hotels interior is absolutely stunning with hints of the famous Portuguese burel wool tastefully positioned throughout. We stayed in the Maria Keil Panorama room and the views from our balcony were breathtakingly beautiful. The breakfast, lunch and dinner were absolutely delicious -5 star! I am a vegetarian and there was so much variety. Not only are the aesthetics, views and food 5 star, the staff are the best I have ever encountered. They are personable and so very helpful. A special word of thanks to Daniella who is an asset to the Casa de Sao Lourenco hotel and to Jose, Alcides and Vinicius all of whom made our stay so memorable. This is a MUST visit, it will not disappoint.

This is a well appointed, spotlessly clean, comfortable hotel with excellent access to the hiking trails in the center of Portugal. This hotel also has lovely outdoor swimming pool where you can swim laps and a decent restaurant. Excellent value!

We're doing a road trip from South to North of Portugal. After Evora, we deviated from our planned itinerary and found this hotel and spa in the middle of nowhere. It was a good decision. My husband and I had a nice relaxing stay at Cro Hotel. The pool was great and I had a relaxing massage. The restaurant was ok but not great. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. But I would suggest to the management to have more hooks to hang wet towels, bathing suit and robes. Hardly any placeto hang wet stuff except the closet. Also, couldn't understand why the hallways were so dark. Overall, it was a nice stay and the staff friendly and helpful.

Very good hotel with an excellent breakfast, wonderful and frienly staff, very close to skiing slopes. An amazingly varied restaurant, where a delicious buffet is served every night.Rooms' furniture is rather dingy, especially for a 4 star hotel. Would do with a face-lift.

This is a new hotel and it shows. Impeccably clean, excellent options for breakfast and buffet meals at the restaurant. Friendly and attentive staff. We travelled as a family, with 2 children aged 3/5 and it was an unforgettable experience for them. Swimming pool for children plus playground next to terrace tables, so grown-ups can enjoy a drink while keeping the children close and happy. I recommend it especially for families with children. Surroundings are, of course, also stunning. For one full weekend, no adult thought about work. We returned home fully relaxed and hoping to return.

Casas do Coro is a small boutique hotel, villas and spa, which were beautifully rebuilt, and with the dedication of Carmen and Paulo Romao, the founders quickly became a reference for housing projects in Portugal. They are simply the ideal place for those wanting to escape from the hustle and bustle of the cities and want to enjoy what this magical place has to offer, excellent gastronomy and wines, with the renowned hospitality Beira and with the beauty of a region largely unknown and much peace! They are simply the ideal place for those wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of cities and want to enjoy what this magical place has to offer, excellent gastronomy and wines, with the odd host renowned hospitality Beira and like the beauty of a region largely unknown and much peace!Breakfast consists in many of the delicacies produced in the Casas do Coro. The dinner is by appointment of 24 hours. The base of the dinner comes from a very traditional cuisine adapted by the owner with elegance and charm a space that invites you to a beautiful evening. The experiment consists of a treat table, an entry, a soup, a main dish and a dessert buffet. The wines are carefully selected by Paulo majority originating in the Douro Superior, in addition there are several wines whit the brand of Casas do Coro produced by winemakers reference. The interior decorated for comfort to the smallest detail and terraces with panoramic views landscape ensure you enjoy the most. The standard rooms and superior suites are intended primarily for couples that come alone. The various autonomous houses are suitable for groups or families of different sizes, have Kitchenette and living room with fireplace. They can be rented for two or three couples. The stones of Marialva and Casas do Coro have several centuries, but the recovery has been made gradually, with the look at the needs and demands of the day today, the comfort and functionality are the major concerns that we have for our guests in these houses.
We spent a magical 5 days at Casas do Coro. Our first night we had dinner with the owners, Paulo and Carmen, with creative, fresh cuisine that knocked our socks off (plus lots of fabulous wines produced by their vineyard). One day we enjoyed a "boho picnic" in their vineyard, which was such a relaxing experience with delicious, fresh food that we didn't want it to end. We enjoyed the sauna several times, visited the castle (unbelievably picturesque and photogenic!), visited the nearby Museu do Coa, had lunch at the Casa da Linha Ferrea, made many many memories. We spent over 3 weeks in Portugal and Casas was, if not our favorite place, in the top two or three. I saw the review about the poorly trained staff and have to say that was not our experience, that everyone was super friendly and helpful and we were struck by the high level of English fluency everyone seemed to have. Five stars, highly recommend.
