Gros Islet, on the northern tip of St. Lucia, is a blossoming destination, at once remote and exciting. The best way to explore the shoreline may be Island Riders, where riding veterans and beginners alike can trot along on horseback and chat with the locals. The Jump Up street party, perhaps the most recognized of the town's attractions, is also a must for a taste of Gros Islet's unique blend of food and music.

Nestled in the sheltered bay of Bonaire Estate, Calabash Cove Resort & Spa is one of just a select few full-service, boutique luxury resorts in St. Lucia, perched on a hillside sloping gently towards the Caribbean Sea, where cool ocean breezes provide a wonderful respite and the turquoise sea is offset by the vibrant green of tropical vegetation and views of Walcott Island. A private beach and nearby coral reef provide the perfect place to rest, reflect and dream. The resort has been designed with great care to complement and exist in harmony with the beauty of the natural surroundings. The natural elements of earth, wind, light and water are represented in the exotic wood, stone and natural materials used in the composition of the buildings. The peaceful and tranquil gardens, under the care of one of the finest landscape architects in the Caribbean, have been created to capture the natural splendor of the area and are filled with vibrant, fragrant flowers set amid groves of trees.
Calabash Cove has to be one of the best all inclusive I’ve ever been to. The staff, food, and the property all were outstanding! They go above and beyond to make you feel pampered and important. They get all the little things right here and we couldn’t have been happier. Next time we visit we 1000% will be back to this amazing resort! We will be recommending to our family and friends as soon as we get home.

Experience the tropical beauty and maritime charm of Harbor Club St. Lucia, Curio Collection by Hilton. Set in the Gros Islet quarter on the northwest coast, our resort provides a laidback getaway near some of the island's top beaches, attractions and nightlife. Each guest room features nautically inspired décor, complimentary WiFi, a 49-inch TV, espresso machine, mini-fridge and a daily breakfast basket. Customize your stay with a variety of floorplans and luxuries including corner rooms, swim-up rooms, terraces, and views of the marina, ocean or mountains. Suites are especially elegant with a separate living area, powder room, and freestanding bathtub and shower.
The hotel itself is just beautiful; for me just the right size. Not too big so that it’s catering for the masses but big enough so that a nice atmosphere is created and every individual is looked after and made to feel special. We had a beautiful King Double room with a large balcony that was completely private and could only be viewed upon from the waterways of the Marina. It was very modern and had everything that you could need (iron and ironing board, safe, tea and coffee making facilities, fridge, large flat screen tv and an en-suite bathroom including a beautiful walk in shower). There are other options for rooms, many with balconies that overlook the pool area and have views across the Marina and also some swim up rooms. The hotel itself is located in Rodney Bay which has many good restaurants and bars close by, which was part of the reason that we decided not to go all inclusive. This suited us as we were staying for 2 weeks and wished to sample the variety that’s available close by. Having said that, the food available at the hotel is very good (but the menu was a little limited if eating there every day for two weeks), if staying for a week then going ‘All Inclusive’ would possibly be a good option. This would then also give you full access to sample the fabulous cocktails that are available throughout the day served up by the very knowledgeable, hardworking and charismatic duo of Ronnie and Lex. These guys know their stuff and are the heartbeat of the poolside bar. As lovely as the hotel is, it’s the wonderful staff that take it from a good hotel to a great one. We’ve never been made to feel more welcome anywhere else in the world. From our very first minutes in the hotel, we were met by the reception staff who wanted to get us checked in as quickly as possible; as soon as they became aware of the long hot, arduous journey we’d just endured, we were invited to sit down and relax and to refresh ourselves with some complementary drinks before completing the necessary paperwork. I’d love to give all the staff who enhanced our holiday a mention but there are far too many to name; thank you all! There is only one slight negative and that is the evening entertainment, but that could be down to personal taste really. We really did enjoy the local Reggae bands and also local DJ HP, however some of the other acts weren’t to our taste. To summarise; would we return ? - Yes. Would we be happy to recommend ? - Yes

Much like its sister Hotel on the island of Barbados, the The SoCo House offers the unique charm and exclusivity of an Adult only All-Inclusive Boutique Hotel for a discerning customer who requires a modern, high quality Hotel facility, and service. European Chic meets Modern Day Flare as the Hotels “South Beach style “Décor merges seamlessly with the rustic French Creole architecture. Set on a peninsula in Historic Rodney Bay St. Lucia, the islands leading Tourist location, the Soco House is merely a stone throw away from the Islands’ leading Beaches, Restaurants, Bars, Tours and Excursions as well as Nightlife and Shopping. The Islands rich French-Caribbean essence can be captured in the World-Class meals and drinks expertly prepared at our International Restaurant and Bars. .
On arriving at the Soco Hotel we were welcomed with a rum punch and a nice 155ec community tax which we wasn't told about! Nevertheless reception was bright and spotlessly clean. We were taken to our room which was also clean. Little things like mirrors and sockets need to be assessed, having sockets one end of the room and mirror the other side don't really work. We didn't unpack straight away because we needed a drink because of the 145min transfer from airport, bar area was clean, drinks were plentiful... Some bar staff need to brush up on their social skills (Marlon). Bianca, Warner and Elijah were great!!!! Bianca.. The Purple Rain was amazing ? ?. Restaurant staff were the best, Eloise was very entertaining, if I was manager and your reading this.....give her a bar or front of house job!!!! Service is a little slow in restaurant but everything is cooked fresh and looked very presentable. Didn't feel the need to complain though. Pool could do with a deep clean, though it wasn't bad. Only thing that let's the Soco down is lack of sunbeds. We went to the beach once, but sunbeds were really tired and parasols didn't offer much shade. Cabanas, far too many of them being unused as they were charging 135us a day, something that should charged for if all Inc. And may I add... We met some really friendly and amazing people which some we have kept in touch with. Overall great holiday, great weather, great people!!!! Paula ❤️

This original home was converted into a vacation rental from the advice of frequently hosted overseas friends of the owners. A home away from home, TROPICAL BREEZE GUESTHOUSE & FURNISHED APTS suits the down-to-earth traveller who wants to experience living in the St Lucian community during a vacation. Any reservation at the property is a wise choice because of its spacious and comfy bedrooms, and, of course, its affordability for the working class individual. The ground floor has four ensuite bedrooms consisting of a budget single room, a double room and two queen rooms each with a bidet. Guests there share a well equiped kitchen. Upstairs consists of two three bedroom apts each with their own kitchen and living room. We are conveniently located in the town of Gros Islet which is in the north of the island. Guests are in close proximity to public transportation and a bus ride to the Rodney Bay area with its shopping malls, bars and restaurants, banks costs $EC2. The beach is nearby.
I had a lovely few days staying here. The location was perfect for exploring, and for the street party! Clean, quite, comfortable, safe. Julian was very friendly & hospitable :) shared some great morning conversations over breakfast Easy to walk north to Pigeon Island National Park & surrounding area And just as easy to explore south to Rodney Bay & Reduit Bay area Perfect place for a quiet solo getaway!

The hotel is ideally located within walking distance to two large supermarkets which sells almost anything . Even a pharmacy . Local restaurants and bars are all about 5 mins walking distance . Big chef serves excellent cuts of meat . Highly recommended for meat lovers . The best outside the hotel . Beach is about 5 mins walk from hotel . The hotel allows towels to be taken to the beach . Unfortunately very few umbrellas and sun beds are provided at the beach near Coco Palm . The beach by Spinakkers , ( beach restaurant ) has sun umbrellas and sun loungers which can be rented for the day from the beach boys who are very helpful . Sea is quite calm, clear blue and clean : ideal for swimming all along Rodney Bay. There were curfews which had to be followed by all by 10pm . On some days it was 6pm. This was in Dec2021/Jan2022. It may change later Marina is about 15-20 min walk . It is another place to have lunch or breakfast . Great to watch all the boats moored . Be prepared for sudden short showers while walking about . Best to carry an umbrella . Excellent reception staff . Very receptive to complaints and responded immediately and rectified the problems . The signage in reception area was well placed according to govt Covid rules . Hand gel stations were carefully situated in restaurants , toilets , and hotel corridors . Wearing face Masks and social distancing was encouraged in all areas necessary . Rooms that stepped down into the swimming pool area were quiet and private . All rooms were well equipped with A/C and ceiling fans . Cleanliness was of high standard . Bathrooms are well designed even with a marble seat to have showers seated . Showers were a bit stiff to operate . Probably it’s old fittings . Ground floor Rooms facing the gardens had the afternoon sun . Suitable for private Sunbathing. It can be noisy with traffic passing . And local dogs ruling the night ! Suites are on the first and second floor . Larger and suited for families . Balcony space a little tight . Storage space for clothing etc can be improved especially for those staying for long periods . One swimming pool meant there was a lack of space / sunloungers / sun umbrellas for all guests to sunbathe on the sunny side . Generally the hotel occupancy determined this esp during Christmas . The hotel is served by one restaurant . The food was good but limited in variety . Breakfast time can be challenging . Staff were generally good . The gardens were meticulously attended and the landscaping was a pleasure to be in. Poolside rooms are designed for privacy by beautiful botanical specimens strategically planted to provide shade and screen from prying eyes . The constant breeze was a bonus to be out in the grounds . The bar served good cocktails . A good hotel that can be thoroughly recommended. Most enjoyable stay made possible by good staff .

I stayed at Caribbean Dream Vacation in September and October in flats #7 and #6. Hanah and Lucius are super hosts! They are very friendly, helpful, and approachable. They do their best to make sure their guests are happy. Sherolyn, the housekeeper, is also friendly, helpful, and hardworking. It is a 10-minute walk to the Massey grocery store and a 15-20 minute walk to Reduit Beach, depending on your entry point to the beach. The area is hilly and pretty, with bougainvillea and chirping frogs at night. If you walk up the nearby steep hill, you will have some unobstructed views (i.e. minus overhead wires) of Rodney Bay. Beautiful! There is a small swimming pool right outside of flat #7. During those hot September and October days, it's great to pop in for a dip! There is also seating beside the pool. There is also an open rooftop area with seating and a BBQ. While housekeeping is provided for bedding, towels and room clean up, guests have access to the laundry room. Here, you can wash and dry your clothes. There is also a drying line. The laundry room is attached to room #7 and directly beside room #6. Convenient! Flat #7 is a studio. It is bright and open, with a small kitchen, including a stove and full-size fridge with a freezer. Perfect for one person! Room #6 is a one-bedroom. Again, with a kitchen, that includes a stove and full-size fridge with a freezer. The living room area has a sofa. Perfect for two-people! I was happy and comfortable in both flats. There are a couple of smaller studios and a few bigger flats. Something for everyone :) A big thank you to Hannah and Lucius for making my stay so pleasant! I hope to return in the future!

I had a similar experience to the recent 1* review. I had booked to stay at Hotel Chez Marie but had to cancel. I cancelled well within the allotted time however when I reached out to the hotel about my deposit refund they deny ever receiving it. I was able to provide my Visa statement which shows the hotel charging a deposit, as well I provided an email that THEY sent to ME containing the details of the deposit that they charged onto my Visa. Yet, they are still refusing to refund me the funds and say that their bank “cannot find” proof that they charged me. Apparently my Visa statement, as well as an email sent FROM THEM is not enough. I cancelled over 8 days ago and they are still declining to refund me. Be very cautious if looking at booking this hotel. Ensure you get a receipt for everything and get EVERYTHING in writing, though in my case even that didn’t make a difference.
