We chose this restaurant as it looked very beautiful. We were not disappointed! The meal was wonderful and the waiter who served us was incredibly helpful trying to translate things for us and making recommendations. We had lamb fillets which were tender and beautifully cooked followed by a tea and rum infused semi fredo which was incredible. Even when our cards were declined numerous times (their machines fault not ours I hasten to add!) The waiter continued to try and help us with such politeness and friendliness. A wonderful evening.

We stayed two nights in the Hotel Hohes Haus. The rooms were excellent - spacious, clean and well appointed. The breakfast staff was very friendly, the breakfast was good but not excellent - which did not bother us. The location is top! The renovation of the old building is excellent. Brand new bathrooms - top marks! We also had dinner there which was very good indeed. The only little drawback is the lack of parking, so we had to park in a public car park which was not too expensive.

My husband and I arrive around 7pm to the hotel it was all dark with no one to be seen, luckily we saw someone coming out and then there was a post that we had to go to a restaurant to check in. We came in with our small suitcase into a full restaurant it felt quite awkward.. The lady was really not friendly and when she found out we've parked on the other side of town she rolled her eyes .. Very rude! We got into the dark building to climb 2 flights of stairs which was ok but there were pillows on the hallways and an extra beds ?! :-/ right outside our door.. The place looked deserted, the smoke detector was broken on top of the closet, closet was dusty, and had basic furniture horrible photos on the wall.. I'm surprise by the beauty found in Germany this hotel looks sad. They said that it was the day they were close so no one actually welcome us .. There is nothing like a person welcoming you when you arrive to a hotel! The bathroom was clean the bed was so noisy as if it will break at any moment ... Internet only for one device? Really? In a hotel where lots of tourist come unacceptable... To be honest for the price I've stayed in better hotels this is not a proper hotel is more like a guesthouse the smell of cigar is quite strong in the bedding. I most likely will not be back ... Sad that in such a beautiful place like greetsiel you find a sad hotel like this ..

This is an honest hotel; the beds are comfortable, the rooms clean and tidy, the welcome for dogs is touching. Breakfast is perfectly good. There is a massage/ wellness service which is very good. And yet the 'romantic' element isn't there. The bar and lounge are depressing - brightening up the furniture to get rid of the dark brown armchairs would help. The decision to team up with a restaurant in the shopping centre across the road will have been taken for a reason, but it is not a particularly interesting prospect to eat there if you want anything better than straightforward tourist fare. There are at least a couple of restaurants in Greetsiel, by the harbour, which are better: Fest Land ( which is the best in the village), and Hohes Haus. The hotel is well-situated, as the walk to the harbour is no more than 5 minutes, so it is a good place to stay, but it would be more attractive if it were more inviting inside.
