Former home of the Lipton Tea Family, built in 1902, this elegant mansion is set in its own fabulous grounds in the heart of the Cairngorm National Park, ideally located for the Speyside Malt Whisky Trail. It has retained many original features and offers the highest standards of Scottish hospitality. Each bedroom is individually appointed to the highest standards. Open log fires and original wood paneling. Exquisite Afternoon Cream Teas, large selection of Malt Whiskies, Local Gins and Beers. Pet Friendly.
A family of 12 eccentrics for a vow renewal and a reason to explore. Afternoon tea rivaled The Ritz. Spud the piper was welcomed like family with an offer of tea during pre ceremony preparations. We corresponded for a year with the generous hosts Iain and Elaine. They were gold star contacts on local resources. Highly recommended for groups such as ours or smaller.

We had a very warm welcome from Ann at front desk when we arrived. But then found outroom was 2 floors upbut never mind.i had ask for a twin but only had aking. Ann did say she could put a mattress on the floor the answer to that was no. The room was ok a bit small and noisy at night yoi could hear roof tiles rattle all night. The milk sachets in room were of not nice. Went for breakfast at 8 am. After 15min girl took order but breakfast did not arrive till 8.45 and then Was not very nice. Plus the room(bar) where we had breakfast had signs up on wall not very appropriate for a hotel i think. (if you dont like it tough) (hail hail the boyos are here). Dont think i will be back sorry.

Arrived at 2.40pm, wasn’t allowed in to use toilets in our rooms, was told to find public toilets in town after a 4 hr drive. Owner was not friendly, check-in is between 4 -7pm we had 2 double rooms booked, sign outside said they still had vacancies. Cancelled and found alternative accommodation but were still charged the full amount for 2 rooms £180, even though we were never over their door. Wouldn’t recommend.

The Speyside Hotel is a tranquil, Country House style Hotel in the middle of Grantown-on-Spey. The Ghille bar, open from 4pm daily, boasts a wide range of Gin, Whisky, Spirits, Wine, and Soft Drinks. Our bright conservatory can be used for private functions and events. The elegant dining room serves breakfast daily, and also a bistro style dinner for residents. There is ample parking to the front of the property and a beer garden nestled at the rear. The hotel is a short walk from all local amenities, the famous river Spey, and is a short drive to the Cairngorm mountains.
We stayed at the Speyside Hotel as a central point for day trips from one side of Scotland to the other, but one day we stayed "home" and explored this delightful town full of friendly, welcoming folks. Mark, Lucy, Mel, and Allison were helpful, friendly, and caring. The hotel itself is what I would call authentic. It has history and atmosphere. Many seating places to fit your need. The food was awesome, the bar selection vast, the service above and beyond. The location is just off the main street, so quiet, but an easy walk to town. If, or should I say when, we return to Scotland, I am pretty sure we will plan a large part of our exploring around the Speyside Hotel and Grantown on Spey. Maybe the craft beer brewery will be open by then! Thanks Mark, Lucy, Mel, and Allison

Not had the chance to revisit since 2017 due to lockdown. However this hotel never disappoints. Extremely Friendly helpful staff, comfortable rooms. Excellent service - good food. The facilities for wildlife watchers remain excellent with very helpful input from a visiting guide every morning. "Club room" with well stocked library and a good range of wildlife books for sale too. Plenty of advice/information available. On one evening the gas supply to the hotel failed resulting in some disruption to the evening meal. The manager put himself up front and personally explained to all the guests what had happened and offered very reasonable alternatives. Sometimes a business can be judged when things go wrong - the manager responded in an excellent manner, others would have hidden away in their office and let staff deal with it Not this one!! Highly recommend this hotel especially for wildlife lovers/watchers. We will definitely be returning.

Old world charm at the newly restored The Craiglynne Hotel. Our Victorian granite hotel, situated under the majestic Cairngorms, has just been restored and refurbished to the highest standards. With 82 stylish rooms and superb grounds, relaxing here during your stay is irresistible; however we also highly recommend visiting the beautiful villages, mountains, rivers and forests nearby. After a day exploring, there's nothing better than sinking into an armchair by one of our roaring log fires to share stories of Lochness, Inverness and the hugely popular whisky trail. When you are looking for hotels in Grantown-on-Spey, near Aviemore, stay with us and be one of the first to enjoy our restored hotel.
Great staff and super room, clean and tidy and modern. However the food offering was not good. Presentation of food looked amazing. I had the Chicken with Haggis. The Chicken was overcooked and partly chewy. For over £20 not worth the Money. I opted for the Cheese after and this was perfect. As for breakfast I would have gone to McDonalds! All the food was in warmers and not very hot. I left most of it as it was inedible. How can I hotel like this get it so wrong. To sum up. Fantastic staff at front of house. Modern room. But I won't be returning as the food served is very poor. Lots in the kitchen area of this hotel requires improvement.

The best bed and breakfast we’ve ever stayed in. Isla’s porridge is amazing, a different ‘special’ every day and that’s only the beginning of the wonderful breakfast. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room spotlessly clean. There were a lot of added extras too which we hadn’t expected like a pillow spray to help with sleeping and delicious shortbread in a jar. We wanted for absolutely nothing and if the fresh milk needed replacing we only had to mention it and it was done. Never were we made to feel that we had to go out and every night the stove in the lounge was lit for those wanting to have a change of scene from the bedroom. It was ideally situated, has free parking off road and decent Wi-Fi. I really recommend this wonderful B and B. We shall be back!

Stayed for 2 nights as part of a visit to family but wish I’d been there longer! Tom makes guests feel so very welcome and is an exceptional host. Rooms are spotless, linens and towels very fresh and there is a range of luxury highland soap products in your bathroom. The breakfast is top quality, and the homemade granola is definitely something you don’t want to miss!!

A country style hotel based in the heart of the Highlands.
We visited the Garth hotel for a celebration. We'd been before and the friendly staff and amazing food made us want to come back. The table was booked in advance with a very good value for money menu. Communication was amazing and the hotel are so friendly and easy to deal with. The staff were very friendly and attentive from the moment we arrived. Service was great. The food was better than I could have imagined and everyone loved their meals. The only problem we had was that we struggled to finish dessert. I wouldn't consider anywhere else to eat. Thanks to Peter and his team for everything, we had a great time and will hopefully be back soon.
