Located at the waterfront with amazing views across the bay, Novotel Geelong is situated within Geelong's Central Business District, close to shopping centres and local attractions. It is within an hour by car from Melbourne and 20 minutes from Avalon Airport. The hotel features 109 guest rooms, a restaurant, bar, function rooms, indoor pool, steam room, fitness centre and free WiFi. Perfect for business and leisure travellers.
Long called “sleepy hollow” Geelong has much to offer especially in close proximity to the Novotel Eastern Beach. The hotel itself is clean and the staff are efficient and very helpful and friendly. I have no hesitation in returning.

Stayed for a night on our way from Melbourne to Regional Victoria. Always good to stay in Geelong a night to beat traffic the next morning, Very central, clean, comfortable motel. Very friendly staff. Would go back and stay again. Great to see a restaurant there too.

Rydges helped us host a Professional Development event for teachers and passed with flying colours! The catering staff managed our whims with a smile and were really efficient. The food was served in the hotel, a refreshing change to enjoy a great lunch. We felt spoilt. Setting up of the room and tech requirements were expertly done. Definitely be back!

The apartment we stayed in (304) was facing a main road and not the bay and hence the noise level was enough to disrupt our sleep. It was spacious and cleanliness in both bathrooms was excellent, however, the sofa, dining chairs and cushions were visibly dirty.

Perfect Geelong location for all your leisure:business needs ✨4.5 star apartment hotel. Offering rooms and self catering apartments ✨5 min walk to Eastern Beach ✨le Cafe@ R Hotel ✨ Dog Friendly ✨Bike Parking ✨Electric Vehicle Charging
R Hotel is quite new, giving it an easy advantage over competitors. We booked three rooms (2 x queen, 1 x 1br apartment - all on Level 5) and all three parties were impressed. My room was spacious and comfortable, the bed was exquisite, lovely view from the patio and all the expected hotel room offerings at hand (albeit a bit nicer because so new, like the iron and jug). My friend's 1br apartment only cost a fraction more and was like a luxury apartment, well worth the extra. This is where we gathered for snacks and drinks before heading out. Oh, and it has a big bathtub which was a highlight, too. Everything was meticulously clean and the sliding door to the balcony meant an abundance of fresh sea air. It was an easy wander down the road to the beach and just as easy to walk to the CBD for dinner/drinks. Staff were welcoming, friendly and quick to assist - the service was excellent all round. I only wish we'd stayed longer and I can't wait to visit again.

From the front it has an almost B&B ambiance with its neat wooden fence and small well maintained garden. Our room (5) was a spacious, comfortable king studio tastefully decorated with a seaside feel. Huge bathroom, but you could only just get the water hot enough for a shower. Decent kitchen, full-sized fridge, a double electric hotplate hidden in a bottom drawer and all the necessary plates, pots and cutlery. Good selection of tea, instant coffee not so great. Super comfy bed and plenty of space with a little coffee table sitting area. Easy walk to the waterfront. Yes, there is some traffic noise which wasn't a problem for us. And anyway, what can you expect if you want to stay close to one of the main thoroughfares in a major regional city. We'd stay there again.

We opted for a “balcony room”, so we had a good sized balcony with a pleasant view overlooking the heritage post office and main street. We were warmly welcomed and assisted with our luggage (there’s no lift). The room, as has been described elsewhere, is “traditional”, but had everything we needed. The reverse cycle heating unit kept us cozy, with an extra blanket available in the cupboard in the hallway (along with irons and extra hangers). Hanging space in the room we had was limited. Parking is around the corner on the street (or in a council off-street car park, down a walkway), but is unrestricted. The building itself retains the graciousness of a bygone era, and there's a quiet area where you can relax with a book or a drink (if you tire of the balcony!) There appeared to be quite a few people in town over the weekend that we were there, and the price seemed to reflect this, given that the although the rate we paid can’t be said to have been unreasonable (after all, we did agree to it!), it wasn’t in the “bargain” category either,

The room was fine, though extremely small. Not exactly the best location in Geelong. The price was outrageous. We had not planned on being in Geelong; we were forced to stay at Best Western as everything was booked out for Easter and we needed somewhere at the last minute.
