Great views, but Wifi quality was not suitable for remote work as the connection repeatedly cuts out. You’ll have to ask to have your room cleaned and you’ll have to seek out your breakfast elsewhere in town because their restaurant is still not open.

The property was formally a Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott but underwent a $5 million renovation in 2018 with a new focus and story. The hotel is now based on America's most loved footpath, the Appalachian Trail. Guest rooms are named after shelters found along the trail and the halls are filled with pictures and stories provided by the Appalachian Trail Conservancy, allowing guests to immerse themselves into the story and the history of the Appalachian Trail. Guests will find that the property is a family-friendly environment including many helpful amenities designed to enhance your stay. The Appy Lodge offers indoor and outdoor pools as well as a splash pad for younger guests. We have complimentary breakfast and refreshments in the afternoon providing a pleasant respite from your busy day. For guest convenience, free parking is available and a city trolley stop is located in our parking lot. The hotel is located a half of a mile from downtown Gatlinburg and at the entry to the spur that leads to Pigeon Forge. The Gatlinburg bypass for the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is less than half of a mile from the property. We hope that on your next trip to the Smokies you'll decide to make The Appy Lodge your next home away from home!
Hotel was beautiful all the staff were very respectful and kind, my only complaints would be the breakfast would be much better as a hot breakfast and the pools are both small compared to how big the hotel is. I would definitely stay here again!

There was nothing that I liked about this property. I WILL NOT EVER stay in this dump again. I didn't feel safe just walking into this place. The check-in is on the right in a room out of view of the front door (anyone can just walk in).The staff person that I encountered was very rude and did not give me a chance to ask anything when I checked in. If you are wanting to book this hotel for the pool don't. It is in the basement and looks like it hasn't been cleaned since they built it. The elevator that you take to get to it is a trip hazard, the floor in it is falling apart. There is green stuff on the ceiling above/around the pool, without the proper ventilation it is stuffy/humid, and there is also gross water that drips on you if you don't want go in the cloudy water and just want to sit. The bed was like sleeping on the floor, the mattress protector was gross. The parking inadequate and the overflow parking does not have any type of security cameras at all. This place is NOT worth it for the price. This place should be shut down, gutted and remodeled before anyone stays here. I have stayed in super 8 and motel 6’s that was nicer than this place.

Stayed here for four nights in May, 2022 and even though it rained horribly for most of the time we still had a wonderful time there. Sitting on the front porch and meeting new friends is always wonderful. Miss Bunny at the front desk is always a pleasant soul to welcome you. And the crew that serves breakfast is top shelf also! In fact, most all of the employees at the Inn are friendly and accommodating.
