We had arranged that our bikes could be in the room. The welcome was a little luke warm to say the least but this was a nice place. The hotel is well placed in the main street and we had a comfortable time there. We had a comfiortable room looking out on the main street which was nice.

My husband, daughter and I stayed at this hotel for a few weeks and I feel I would be the best person to write a review of this hotel coz this was literally my home for that period. Their rooms were very comfortable and had all the necessary equipments I needed (i.e hairdryer, kettle, iron, mini fridge) Their breakfast was very good as well had a variety of options. As we are Muslims we couldn't eat alot of the things on the menu but the chef was kind enough to make eggs hash browns and other things for us in a different pan. The health club spirit within the holiday inn was great as well their pool was of a reasonable size and it was very clean. Their gym had all the equipments and was clean as well. Their staff were very friendly and helpful. But what I absolutely loved about this hotel was it's hospitality. I have stayed at alot of different hotels and resorts but the kind of service this hotel provides beats all the other hotels I've ever stayed at. The staff went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable with my little one and had everything I needed to make this stay as comfortable as possible. I'd like to mention a few of the staff members who have especially been very helpful- Cosmien the night manager, Manuel the operations manager and Richard, the front desk manager they have been excellent making this trip so memorable. But most of all I'd like to especially thank ERIN from the housekeeping team who was an absolute delight. She cleaned the room thoroughly and made it spotless . She is very good at her job and a lovely, friendly person. Thank you very much holiday inn for such a memorable stay and to all the readers if you're looking for a place to stay in fareham you MUST stay at holiday inn it has the most amazing group of staff.

We offer high standards, fine food and excellent facilities, but most of all, friendly personal service delivered by a team of great people.
Afternoon tea at the Lysses House Hotel in Fareham was a total treat. We had the Fareham Tea Party with a gorgeous selection of sandwiches, including smoked salmon and egg and cress, traditional scones with clotted cream and jam and delicious bite size cakes. Too much food to eat between the two of us but this wasn’t a problem as it was swiftly wrapped for us to take away for later. We were even asked if we wanted this packaged together or spilt so we could take some each. The tea was replenished frequently, wine or champagne are available but not for us this time. Staff were extremely polite, friendly and very helpful. I would totally recommend a visit and will be back again soon.

Good parking, excellent welcome, acceptable room. No cleaning whatsoever during our three night stay. Mugs and teaspoons never washed or replaced, hot drinks supplies not replenished, bins not emptied, bathroom never cleaned. Three attempts to overcharge me at checkout. Sloppy management, I think.

The hotel is in a great location for visiting surrounding areas. Our room was comfortable and clean although a tight bathroom. We stayed for three nights and after our first nights meal we decided to eat in the restaurant each evening, good food cooked well, that comment includes breakfast too. Ben and the team of staff were obviously over worked but were still friendly and professional.

What a shame - all the potential to be quite excellent in all categories. The Bugle Hotel holds claim to be a Hotel with Bars, restaurant and breakfast. There is also a function room available. Since my Daughter and Son-in Law moved to Titchfield nearly a year ago, the Bugle has been welcoming. It was an easy choice to choose as a post-covid Wedding party to invite an unrestricted number of guests to celebrate. The function room was reserved and all bedrooms (which were being completely refurbished) were reserved. The first sign that things were not going to be well managed was when bedrooms had been let out to other guests restricting family numbers who could stay despite the "whole Hotel" reservation. The welcome on arrival on Friday 3 June was good until the discovery that prepayments for some rooms had gone missing - demanding payment a second time which was eventually resolved. The rooms seemed well presented at first but were marred by bins still containing historic guests waste. Despite three rooms having reservations over two nights, rooms were not serviced or cleaned. The rooms were otherwise comfortable, pleasant and breakfast was very good quality and very tasty. Breakfast service was however what chaos - slow order taking; slow drinks service; orders not taken table at a time to ensure all could eat together. When it came to the function, it was good that we were allowed access to dress the room but in actuality, it was family and friends who needed to set up the tables and chairs as there simply was not the staff or resources available. Further discoveries were: The areas behind the function room Bar was full of rubbish and clutter as was the raised stage area; There was no Prosecco available to purchase as stocks were non-existent; The outside areas (where benches were set up) had not been cleaned and was covered in slippery moss/ organic detritus. I asked the Manager to organise a "Bar Tab" so I could cover the cost of drinks provided to guests. Despite clear instructions, on each occasion I was at the Bar, staff were taking payments from guests contrary to my wishes. Despite setbacks, some of which were not connected to the Bugle Hotel, all had a splendid time until the end. We had been aware that music needed to stop at 22:30 and most guests melted away at this time. Key family and friends involved in set up; baking cakes; acting as M/C organising reception drinks; supervising children events, all of whom were residents at the Hotel were keen to relax. We were informed we could have one drink - none after 23:00 and needed to drink up. Not the usual practice in a true Hotel in my extensive experience but just summed up. So in summary, what could be excellent on all fronts Does not operate as a Hotel A Bar which does not stock well; staff tell customers how they should have their drink served, cannot follow a simple request is not an effective Bar A restaurant which could not coordinate breakfast service and kept fire doors locked (to prevent walk in business) is not a Restaurant I would welcome contact with the owner.

I am writing as a very disappointing 1st time guest, I usually stay at another hotel locally to Fareham and though as I was staying with my Partner who was also on business that we would give this hotel a go for the 2 night booking. Check in was good, friendly staff and seen to straight away. So good first impressions. On walking up to our room we were greated with Windowsills and tables full of Glass bottles, broken and Dirty glasses. As there was a wedding taking place we didn't think anything of it as we know guests do take beverages to their rooms. But to still see the same dirty glasses in the same place upon check out is appalling which was 48 hours later. I mentioned it to the housekeeping staff who did not acknowledge my comments that these had been there for days. The room was pleasant but dated, shower curtains really are not welcome in 4* establishments. Nor are cheap plastic toilet seats. We decided to have dinner in the restaurant whereby we ordered pre dinner drinks, kir Royale and a coke, we also order 2 main courses and a bottle of wine to have with them. The waitress advised that the wine we had ordered was not available and gave the menu back to me to choose another bottle. She never returned to take my order for that wine. The pre dinner drinks we had to chase up twice and they arrived after our main courses did. I vented my frustrations at the lake of communication and slow service of 2 simple drinks, and start waiting for them as the staff walk by without an acknowledgement of the chase up or an apology. We were compensated for this at the time. I want it known wouldn't have written a review base just on the experience in the restaurant alone. You market yourself as a 4 star hotel but you need to execute this by ensuring all guest facing areas are tidy and presentable. The hotel needs modernisation and the staff need to ensure there guests are looked after. Such a shame as I had high hopes, especially as it has been recommended by local residents. It has real potential, but there are too many factors letting you down at the moment.

We stayed at the Farnham inn. The staff were really friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The chef at breakfast was very cheerful, upbeat and was playing great music. Late night reception staff was really helpful.

Eventually becoming a market town Fareham is now well known for its beautiful Georgian buildings, excellent shopping facilities and an array of superb restaurants.
What a wonderful weekend we had here. We came as three family’s of four, all related. We had a warm welcome to the stunning guest house and made to feel really welcome. The whole house is spotlessly clean and 100% covid safe. The rooms are huge with everything you need. Breakfast is amazing anything you want and more and cooked to perfection!! There is plenty to do in the area for all the family from stunning beaches to the ponies and great shopping. We would like to thank you for your hospitality and for the visit from a very special boy Eddie.❤️We will most certainly return.?
