Very good stay, very good service, very good accommodation, very good food choices of wild meat dishes and environment, easy access and close to Etosha Pan. The surrounding and the walks were good and the pools and eating area.

This Fort is unlike any other, the only one of its kind in Namibia, built in exactly the right spot to give our guests probably one of the best sunset views in the whole of Namibia. Overlooking the beautiful scarceness of the Etosha Pans, decorated only with its wild animals and hundreds of Camel Thorn trees that dot the landscape. Accommodation consists of twelve Bush Suites with fire places for the winter months and air coolers for the summer months. Each suite has an indoor and outdoor shower. The one and only Fort Suite is situated inside the Main Tower of the main complex. It has a large beautifully designed bedroom that leads into a lounge area and out onto a private viewing deck.
If you have the opportunity, try and arrange a 2 days stay at Onguma Fort. From the minute you arrive until the moment you leave, you are indulged in a luxurious environment. Helpful staff, led by the excellent Marissa and aided by the wonderful Claudia, attend to your hearts desires and nothing is too much trouble. The standard of accommodation is superb and the free bar within your room itself aids first class sleep, in so, so comfy beds. The bathroom are beautiful and this, combined with nice touches from the cleaning staff lead to a overwhelming feeling of contentment. The view and table placements at dinner, combined with top quality food and service, made for our best stay in Namibia. It's not cheap, but if you really want to treat yourself, stay at the Onguma Fort for a memory that won't be forgotten.

A luxurious lodge on the outskirts of Etosha National Park that is a truly epic place to stay. Amazing and friendly staff - excellent lunch, dinner, and breakfast, wonderful and insightful game drive and a perfect room and swimming pool area. Couldn't ask for anymore. We wish we could have stayed longer than two nights!

The well-established Ongava Lodge is situated along the southern boundary of Etosha National Park in the privately owned Ongava Game Reserve. Situated as it is close to the top of a hill in the foothills of the Ondundozonanandana Mountain Range, the vantage point is beautiful and overlooks a well-frequented waterhole and the plains beyond. Ongava Lodge offers luxury accommodation in 14 rock and thatch en-suite chalets. There are impressive views over the camp's waterhole from the main lounge and dining areas and there is also an inviting pool to cool off in the heat of the day. Meals are either served in the main dining area under thatch or on the dining deck under the stars.Activities include game drives into Etosha, visting hides, and nature drives and walks on the reserve. Ongava has resident white and black rhino, giving guests staying at Ongava the opportunity to see both species.
This is a beautiful lodge, in the middle of the Ongava game reserve, which is a private reserve situated next to Etosha national park, and dedicated to the conservation of rhinos. There are many rhinos in this park and the watering hole placed in front of the large deck which serves as the restaurant makes sure that you spot game all throughout the day. We saw rhinos, lions, hyenas, kudu, springbok while sitting and having a meal. Since the lodge is situated in the middle of the reserve, one is not allowed out of your room once it’s dark, without an armed escort. We had a few amazing safaris in this park.

Guests rave about the view: the restaurant and chalets, situated on a hillock, offer magnificent views of the African bush savannah. All of the 65 double room chalets have air conditioners and mosquito nets, and a choice of three swimming pools between them. Apart from the restaurant and bar there is a wooden platform for sundowners high above the Mopani bush.
This review may be a little unfair because we were travelling on a Rovos journey which is upscale, but this lodge is not. The comparison is with Mokuti Lodge which is where we stayed last time we made the same Rovos journey. We had a couple specific of complaints. The walks to the rooms is very long and for anyone older the distance could be a problem. And meals were buffet style and the food seemed to run out from time to time. I would not chose to stay in this lodge again.

Onguma Forest Camp is now the new and more aptly re-named Onguma Etosha Aoba! “Tucked into the forest along the dry riverbed is an intimate and relaxed bush camp with a taste of yesteryear safari-style.” Situated in the forested area of a riverine environment, the recently renovated Onguma Forest Camp offers high thatched ceilings, an impressive wine cellar to complement delicious meals served under the stars, a refreshing swimming pool and an elevated viewing deck both overlooking a large and active waterhole.
We loved our stay here. We had the beautiful honeymoon chalet. The whole lodge is really peaceful and all the areas are well maintained. Dinner and breakfast are great. The offered activities are everything you can ask for and the staff is friendly. We would definitely recommend to stay here!

Comfortable and convenient hotel for visiting Etosha Park, from the Namutoni Gate which is about 30 kms away (30mins drive). We loved the waterhole where oryx, zebra, eland and kudu came for a drink. Enjoyed returning to base after our morning drive, having a swim in the pool, then a free foot massage and before going off again, having afternoon tea and cake. The food was good and the room clean and comfortable. Liked the open, modern structure and the big photos of lions and game by the waterhole.

One of the nicest lodges we stayed at. The staff were very welcoming and the facilities were good. Staff were particularly helpful when we were having some travel issues. Food was great too and it was very easy to arrange a drive into the park with one of their guides.
