Kenzi Rissani Hotel Discover Morocco's timeless desert and the magic of the pristine wilderness at the Hotel Kenzi Rissani. Welcome to the timeless ever open wide doors of the desert, in one of the most famous ancient dynasty cities of the South of Morocco: Errachidia. On the fascinating desert trail towards the famous rolling sand dunes of Merzouga, the Hotel Kenzi Rissani offers an ideal haven where time stands still, beckoning and beguiling the guest on its lingering journey of discovery, a symbiotic pause for the soul, to the quintessence of the Eternal Morocco and its legendary splendor.
We slept here for one night because there were no other alternatives available and having read some comments beforehand we were somehow expecting a bad hotel. We weren't expecting things to be so bad. Front desk staff is efficient but nowhere kind or helpful. Our rooms were at the end of the corridor on the main floor and everything looks dated and old kept with all the windows covered by heavy dusty curtains adding to an air of decadence. One of our rooms smelt terribly of tobacco as if someone had just been smoking in there and in fact, there were ashtrays everywhere and smoking was seemingly allowed wherever you pleased. As if that wasn't bad enough bed linen was filled with hairs (multiple different ones!!) and some machines (other rooms A/C units maybe?) were working outside our windows the entire night waking us up every other hour. The pool area had a good view of the city but the pool itself looked dirty with mushy brown water. Not very inviting at all. Breakfast was at most very basic and check-out dragged forever, way longer than check-in. The only positive point was that there was parking at the premises, with a guard during the night time. All in all: a nightmare, avoid at all costs.

This was a lovely place to stay, with very pretty common areas where you'll actually want to hang out, in addition to a nice pool and comfortable, clean rooms. My group took a cooking class here that was excellent, as well!

A beautiful gem on a small side road in the valley. the surroundings are calm, the room was clean, cozy and nicely decorated, with a very nice bathroom. The hotel has an amazing and spacious lounge room where you can unwind in the evenings. The host gave us a warm welcome with even warmer mint tea, and later in the evening a delicious home-made Tajine. Would recommend this place to anyone.

If there were more than five stars, I would have marked them! I have no words for this riad, in the middle of nowhere. Inside the Sahara, remote, isolated, nothing around but the desert itself! It's a place you go to meet and speak to God! Ideal for relax, meditation, deep thinking. The feeling is unique! You and nothing else. Equipment and furniture simple, nothing special, but what else would the nomads and caravans need? Huge rooms with many beds and meals rich, tasty in an atmosphere of mystery and REAL MAGIC.

Stayed here two separate nights. Lovely hotel - safe (for solo travelers too), quiet, spacious room, good shower, great dinner, lovely staff. Can't think of anything bad and would happily stay here again.

The cottage is located in the palm grove of the Ziz valley at 36 km from Errachidia, and at 30 km from Erfoud. the ideal place for an ecological holiday where you can enjoy interesting and peaceful days. The rooms have the windows opening onto the garden or the patio, all have their bathroom with hot water, shower and toilet. The restaurant is a typical Moroccan living room where you'll enjoy Moroccan meals made of organic products from the valley, tasty, good for the health ! And for your entertainment you will find books, games and DVDs.
We stopped over at this lovely roadside hotel en route from the Sahara to Errachidia and although we only spent one night, we were pleasantly surprised. Hosts were incredibly kind and despite the language barrier, we managed to communicate fairly well with each other. We were greeted with fresh fruit, olives and lamb tagine and our host very kindly washed our clothes before we departed for Errachidia airport early the following morning. Although we were only there for one night, it was here we experienced the most genuine kindness whilst backpacking in Morocco. Aside from the clean rooms and amazing hospitality the palmeraie itself was beautiful and provided a lot of green space for a peaceful walk, nice shade from the palm trees and garden chairs to sit while drinking mint tea. I cannot thank these amazing people enough and I am so sorry it has taken this long to put a review up. This hotel is highly recommended and thank you for hosting my partner and I. Please note: we actually travelled Morocco in February 2019, not September of that year.

We stayed two night with our daughter and all of us loved it. They recently upgraded all the mattresses and linens and it really shows, what a treat to sleep this well in the middle of nowhere. We paid 900/night for a big ensuite with dinner + breakfast, this felt very fair. The 2nd day, the owner Hassan took us for a tour of the region in his 4x4. Over giant dunes, across black mountains, through fields of wild rocket full of free roaming camels. He organised a picnic/bbq for us in a deserted valley along the old paris-dakar route, our daughter played together under an acacia; a truly unforgettable day. Thank you Hassan for sharing this experience with us, we will be back!
