This night me and my partner were having issues with a Domino's delivery. Linda went on an absolute warpath and helped sort the delivery completely out of her way to help sort the delivery, ringing up two shops to find out where the delivery was and went absolutely out of her way to help. She also took note of me saying I was struggling to find accommodation for the Durham Miners Gala and began immediately trying to sort me out for it. She wasn't able to but it was not for lack of trying, but that all the accommodation on offer was too expensive. All round brilliant service and think Linda should be rewarded appropriately for going out of her way to help someone who was having issues with something as trivial as a Domino's pizza order issue.

Just returned from a very enjoyable two day stay in Durham. The hotel iis very handily located for all of Durham's attractions. The room was excellent and overlooked the river. All of the staff were very friendly and efficient. Breakfast was excellent with a very wide choice. The dinner menu was slightly quirky but the food quality and service were very good. The only con and it was a "con" is the price of a 75cl bottle of wine which is more expensive than 3 x 25cl glasses of wine!!

Staff are wonderfully friendly although hotel was busy. Service was prompt. Only complaints are the huge pillows and faulty air con. Breakfast was standard with good choice although there was a backlog due to large number of people arriving at same time. Hotel is handy for large choice of restaurants. 10/12 min walk to cathedral.

Premier Inn Durham North. Staff went above and beyond when I had a small incident during our stay. Throughout our stay they were unfailingly cheerful, professional and helpful. I'd particularly like to thank the Receptionists, the Head of Housekeeping and the Plumber/Handiman. The restaurant was also friendly, clean and the food was hot. All in all I would definately recommend staying here.

Surrounded by beautiful parklands overlooking the River Wear and Durham County Cricket Ground, the castle is a magnificent monument to a bygone age of chivalry and honour. The hotel is ideally situated to explore the North East of England and more, being just 10.9 miles south of Newcastle, 8.1 miles north of Durham and 11.8 miles west of Sunderland. This hotel is one of the best-rated locations in Chester-le-Street.
I booked the date night package as a surprise birthday treat for my husband. First the good; All staff were absolutely delightful. Every person was polite, helpful and cheery. The hotel can be proud of their staff! The evening meal in Knight's restaurant was superb. They catered for my gluten free needs with professional excellence. The food was absolutely delicious. We loved the restaurant decor and layout. The Library bar was very cosy and comfortable and, again, good service. Breakfast was also very good. The public areas of the hotel create a great atmosphere to fit in perfectly with the historic castle. My trip adviser scores solely are based on these points. Now the not good; The bedroom was awful! We had room 56. The bed was comfortable but that's it! It was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in for customer convenience. There was no storage, including nowhere to put the suitcase so it wouldn't be a trip hazard when going to the loo at night. There was no dressing table, nowhere to plug in hairdryer and tongs with a view in a mirror to do my hair. The loo (not a bathroom!) had the only useable mirror but the light was far too dark to do my makeup. The'luxury' bubble bath was a corner bath in the bedroom and it was the size of a hip bath and the shower was over it. As the water pressure was so slow it took 20 minutes to fill the bath and we only had a dribble of water to clean our teeth. Therefore we didn't bother even trying to have a shower. The decor was in line with the castle theme of antiques which we didn't mind. The room was clean but the bed valance was filthy. I had booked a superior room based on the photos on the website. In these photos the room looks bright and modern. Room 56 is not this! When I checked out I did tell the lovely receptionist and he said he'd pass on my comments to the manager. I said that if we had been staying for 2 nights rather than just one we would have checked out.

Durham's only silver awarded AA rated and 4 star hotel. Set in a unique location, surrounded by 350 acres of private grounds with two 18 hole Championship golf courses, a purpose built luxury on-site spa complex, four bars and award-winning restaurants.
Lovely hotel, all areas clean, well kept and well maintained. What spoiled it for us is the noise of people passing our room. The hotel is basically one long corridor with rooms on either side of the corridor. All the function rooms, bar, restaurant are at one end of the hotel and if you are on the wrong end of the corridor you will have people passing your room constantly talking, laughing and carrying on well into the night. I had to listen to people coming back from a function until 00.45 with talking, laughing, shouting and door slamming constantly. Once I finally nodded off I was woken again at 2.45 by someone knocking on one of the adjacent doors in the corridor! The rooms need a door between the main door and the bedroom area. The talking and shouting in the corridors then started again at 8am so it was a late night and early start for me, not what I wanted when I was expecting a relaxing break. I would love to return to the hotel but cannot with fear that I am going to have another bad night sleep again. I spent a lot of money while on side with bar and restaurant usage and also a spa evening but it seems that Ramside are only interested in their wedding guests who will probably never return again. I mentioned to reception the next morning that I had barely slept due to the noise and she simply said sorry.

You can live on the edge at the Premier Inn Hotel Durham East. That's because we're conveniently positioned on the city's outskirts - just seven minutes from the station by taxi, and right on the doorstep for business at the Belmont, Peterlee and Dragonville industrial estates. But tapping into Durham's cultural heart is every bit as easy, whether you're making for its historic Cathedral and Castle, or famous University. Take your pick from the city's countless events, before taking it easy at the Beefeater restaurant and a blissful night in the comfiest of beds.
I find it really difficult to sit in any hotel or public toilet, the only exception to this is PremierInn… I’ve seen that every room I’ve ever stayed had exceptional cleanliness in the bathrooms. 2200 stays+ and not one single complaint.

We were visiting Duham to collect an emergency passport and the hotel was located centrally near the Passport Office. We arrived on a Sunday and checked in with a helpful and efficient member of staff. Our room was large with an exceptionally comfortable bed, sofa, wardrobe space and desk. The bathroom had a bath and walk in shower, two hand basins and good toiletries. Flannels were provided as well as towels. We were very happy with the room, but downstairs was not so good. The lighting everywhere was dim and the bar had run out of all but one beer and this was expensive. The restaurant was closed, although the website said it was open. Luckily we found a geat Thai restauant, Zen, five minutes from the hotel, so all was well. We had to pay for parking, but £11 for 24 hours was not unreasonable

FREE parking, FREE wireless broadband internet and FREE access to the Health Club
Only stayed for one night, but requested an accessible room at time of booking, received an immediate response with request being met. On arrival, disabled parking available directly adjacent to the entrance 10/10. Check in was easy and the member of staff on duty was lovely and she went above and beyond to be helpful. Again at check out the member of staff on duty was very pleasant. Room very clean and comfortable, just what was needed for an overnight stay. The hotel is very quiet, but it is close to a busy main road, so quite noisy with window open, but didn't affect sleep. Would definitely recommend.

The food here was lovely, really big portions I thoroughly enjoyed it. Starters, main and dessert was delicious. Unfortunately the service was pretty bad, there was a few younger new starters it looked like, which is fine I have patience but we sat with empty plates waiting for a dessert menu for absolutely ages, ended up having to find a member of staff to ask what desserts they had. We waited another 15 minutes before going up and ordering desserts at the bar as no one was coming to see to us, again sat with empty plates waiting for the bill another half hour, had to go up and pay. It was later on in the evening so it wasn't that busy anymore, think staff had forgotten about us.
