Most welcoming service, exceptional food and hospitality. The lodge was quite, peaceful, allowing one to just drift into calmness... Aa home away from home and away from the business of life. I will definitely return!

Had an amazing stay. Very friendly staff and the room was a nice size. We sat in the garden early evening listening to the birds singing and it was so therapeutic. Breakfast on the verandah was good. We will be back.

Clanwilliam Hotel offers comfortable, modern air-conditioned en-suite rooms. There is Badgers Grill restaurant & bar on the premises & a swimming pool. The hotel can also cater for conferences and special events. Each room is air-conditioned, en-suite, with tea and coffee making facilities. There is also a small work table and chair, flat screen TV and a variety of selected DSTV channels to choose from. High-quality linen including towels are provided. Free WIFI / DSTV / 24hr Reception / Wheelchair friendly / Braai Areas / Air conditioned / Swimming Pool / Restaurant / Bar
Facilities are standard 3* however some TV's in the rooms not working and towels must be replaced because it's thin and worn The staff was ver helpful and friendly but the General Manager has no professional etiquette. She is rude and loud at reception. We had a accommodation hiccup, instead of calling me one side to sort the misunderstanding, I could hear her calling my name from the street and she continued screaming at me in front of guests and staff, according to her staff, that is the way she generally speaks to thwm As tour operators and guides it is definitely not a venue we will recommend for tourist. As an ambassador the hotel, she needs serious people skills training. The best thing about the hotel was the fresh croissants in the morning, breakfast is nothing to write home about and the coffee was awful . To pay R140 pp for breakfast is totally unacceptable and a ripoff. Can get a more appealing breakfast from Wimpy

Haus Muller was a very pleasant stay. Centrally located in Clanwilliam, it has a Spar Supermarket across the road and restaurants close by. Secure undercover parking is available close to the rooms. Self-catering facilities are available, which include a fridge and microwave oven. The two single beds placed side by side were made even more comfortable by the high-quality linen provided. It's therefore understandable that the owner strongly requests no eating in bed. Both a bath and shower were available in the en-suite bathroom, although the shower was a bit complicated, taking a while to get the hang of how it works. All in all we had a fun time staying at Haus Muller.

This review is relatively objective as I have been undertaking extensive road trips for the past 13 years, with a 2 year Covid induced hiatus. I stayed (solo) for 3 nights in late January/early February. Easily found in Clanwilliam on the edge of town. Secure car parking. Due to a communication breakdown no one to meet me, but a quick phone call resolved that issue. The admin is conducted off site, with a very pleasant Peet and Enid on hand at the house. Lovely old building with thick walls and high ceilings. Even in 43 degree day time temperatures the internal rooms were relatively cool. Wonderful original floor boards etc. My bedroom was spacious, well equipped, clean and comfortable. Loved the safe deposit box, which was a small old school stand alone safe bolted to the floor with the door opening upwards. Only down side was that the overhead fan was noisy - quickly rectified by Peet supplying a portable modern fan. Aircon was quiet and efficient. Ice was provided on request. Bathroom was spacious, clean and well equipped. Good shower pressure. Large gardens with shade to relax in after a busy day - excellent breakfast served on the patio. Decent sized pool. Front stoop perfect for an ABF beer with Peet in the evening. A short walk or drive into town for dining options. Recommended

This family-owned lodge and ecological oasis is set within a 7500-hectare private reserve. Offering five-star luxury accommodation and inspired South African cuisine, memorable days at Bushmans Kloof are spent discovering the wide-open plains, awe-inspiring wildlife and pristine mountain landscapes. Discover our special world, with unique access to more than 130 ancient rock art sites, some dating back as far as 10,000 years, and the opportunity to discover the region’s ancient San culture in the company of our experienced local guides.
We had been recommended to visit here by the staff at the Oyster Box, and we weren't disappointed. The welcoming staff created an amazing first impression. The rooms are extremely comfortable, very well appointed and are set along the side of a small lake, facing a picturesque rock face. The meals were very good, with excellent use made of local produce. The cleaning staff were extremely good without being at all intrusive - the rooms were always spotless. Kudos to them. The food and beverage staff were extremely friendly and looked after us well, although we sometimes had to wait a bit for drinks orders. The situation of BK deserves an essay of it's own. The Cedarberg is an exquisite part of the world and the scenery is beautiful in a very unique way. The rock art sites of the San People are plentiful on the reserve and I would definitely recommend taking one of the morning drives to visit them. The late afternoon drives are more focused on game viewing and are really good. I must give a HUGE shout out to our personal guide Eric. He was extremely knowledgeable and was very helpful in us identifying many species of birds that we had never seen before. The stop for sundowners was always a highlight and a chance to experience the quiet of the Cedarberg. Highly recommended!

Nestled in the picturesque Agter-Pakhuis Valley, Cederberg, 26 km from Clanwilliam on route to the historic Wuperthal village, you will find de Pakhuys Farm. The farm is widely regarded as one of the top bouldering destinations world wide. We offer self-catering chalets and camping in a magnificent Cederberg setting.
We stayed two nights in the luxury tent, Janfrederik! We were lucky to get a booking in the height of flower season - and so glad we found this fabulous guest farm. The tent has every convenience - a small and more than well equipped kitchen with wwelcoming home made rusks, ground coffee, a choice of teas (gas stove, fridge, excellent quality crockery and cutlery) piping hot water in the shower, a hugely comfortable king bed with top quality linen, and a lovely patio to sit and enjoy the splendid view, and either light a fire or braai. It was cold while we were there, so we lit a fire inside, and it kept us warm. The bed has electric blankets - a real bonus! Thys is extremely helpful and we felt very welcome. Do yourself a favour and try Thys' olives - plump and juicy. We loved our stay and already plan on a return trip!

The self-catering accommodation on the farm consists of five options. Two delightful cottages, a Cape Dutch Homestead or the Old Farm House, as well as 7 fully equipped retro caravans in our Rocklands Donkey Camp. Guests can relax by the swimming pool, submerge in our beautiful dam, enjoy several hiking trails and a visit to the farm's country winery and olive shed. Visit the Cederberg sights and marvels, using Alpha Excelsior as your base. Rocklands the world famous bouldering area and numerous San Rock Art sites are within easy driving distance.
We stayed in one of the retro caravan (Mongoose) and loved it. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing was a problem. We really enjoyed our stay and extended it for an additional two nights. The wine tasted great. The lapa was a great place to braai and eat. The ablutions where clean and sanitisers, disinfectant and hand washes where at your disposal. The best that that we encountered in the Cederberg. A place that I would not hesitate to recommend and return to.
