We just spent two nights at this lovely country pub. Very welcoming, friendly staff. Our room was clean and comfortable with all the bits and pieces you would expect. There was a good selection of ales in the pleasant bar, and plenty of choices of food on the menu. The food was first class , served perfectly on very hot plates, so the food was lovely and hot. The portions were big, so you won't go hungry, especially after the wonderful full English breakfast. We will definitely stay here again.

Hornsbury Mill offers charming four star guest accommodation in a beautiful rural setting, just a short drive from the coast and a number of local tourist attractions. The converted 19th-century mill has a popular restaurant serving traditional English cuisine to both residents and non-residents. More formal dinners can be enjoyed beside the working water wheel, whilst our bar menu offers you the chance to dine by the lake accompanied by the curious resident wildfowl or sit in our cosy lounge. With ten guest bedrooms, private function rooms and a license for civil ceremonies in the romantic corn loft or lakeside gazebo Hornsbury Mill is a popular wedding venue year-round, as well as hosting intimate anniversary and birthday parties, special occasions, conferences and corporate events. Please note that our restaurant/bar close at 4pm on Sundays and Bank Holidays with no evening service provided.
This is a hotel full of character set in a beautiful location. The staff were all very welcoming and despite there being a large wedding party at the venue, this didn’t impact our stay. The breakfast staff went above and beyond and we left feeling lucky to have found such a gem.

The Lordleaze Hotel is the only 3 star Hotel in Chard. Real Ale Bar and Quality Restaurant, log fire, garden, super fast free wifi throughout, and lots of free parking. A delightfully converted 18th-century farmhouse set in rural surroundings, the secluded setting of the Lordleaze Hotel is a perfect location for those seeking peace and tranquility. The restaurant provides great local produce for a memorable meal with excellent local steaks and an extensive quality wine list. The 25 tastefully decorated and furnished bedrooms all overlook the surrounding countryside. Each, with newly refurbished en-suite bathroom, has Freeview TV, radio, telephone, tea and coffee facilities, trouser press and other small touches for your added comfort.
We have stayed in many hotels worldwide but I cannot think of a friendlier hotel anywhere. The staff are brilliant with a special mention to Martin the bar manager… Brilliant at his job and with such a great personality. The food was lovely especially the cooked breakfast. The minus side is that the hotel is in a random situation and you need to drive through a housing estate to get to it and it does need updating in places but maybe it’s part of its charm… We will definitely stay again… Terry and Wendy.

The Bed and Breakfast is set in picturesque and peaceful surroundings, within a few miles of the Somerset, Devon and Dorset border, perfect for the holiday maker and business person alike. Our five self contained rooms are detached from the main building and set back from the road. They are maintained to a high standard of decor and cleanliness whilst being cosy and providing all the little extras to make your stay comfortable.
We were in the area to perform at the local Warners Hotel. So I booked the Golden Fleece for it's convenient location. However, it's proved to be one of our very best ever B&B experiences and trust me, we've stayed at a lot. Clean room, large bed, quality towels & linens plus an amazing breakfast delivered to our suntrap terrace. I cannot recommend this place enough. Many thanks Carol & Kelly

We stayed here for one night back in July with our toddler. The hotel and room itself were a bit shabby. For breakfast it was a bit unclear what was available, but we ended up having cereals and really good bacon and egg sandwiches. There's a car park out the back, which wasn't massive, but enough for the time of year.

All rooms have microwaves fridges tea coffee making facilities all rooms en-suite with television and sky and parking available
The owner and his wife were both very welcoming. I had one of the little chalet type rooms behind the main hotel which I think was probably preferable as it was lovely and quiet on the whole. I did get woken up by I think it was a noisy fridge one night but other than that slept well and the bed was really comfy too. Only downside was there was no WiFi in the chalets at present as the owners are in dispute with their Internet provider. Personally I got round the issue by using my phone as a Hotspot though. I would stay again, as it was nice and central, very quiet in the chalets, and the room was nice, and it was clean and tidy which are all things I look for when booking.

Rooms were lovely, clean and we felt welcome. Would highly recommend. (Hidden gem!!) Will be staying again, 10 min to nice walk and 25 min to Lyme Regis.

HOLIDAY HOMES WITHIN THE HISTORIC CRICKET ST THOMAS ESTATE.Wake up to bird song with a whole day ahead of you. Stroll across wildflower meadows, through ancient woodland and down winding country lanes. Glimpse deer grazing, kingfishers flashing downstream or cast a line across tranquil water.Sip an early evening glass of wine as the sun melts into the sky. Dine out; savouring expertly prepared food just moments away. Take a nightcap in front of the woodburner’s crackling flames as mist hangs in the valley. Do what you want when you want. Fall asleep with a smile on your face.
Recommend to go, 100% the best time away! We always go away over our anniversary and birthdays at the beginning of every year. We was blown away by this place. We luckily stayed in number 9 kittwhistle Lodge, 2 bedroom 3 bathroom, open plan with big windows over looking the amazing estate views. As it is a self accommodation style I took everything I thought or normally need in others but needn't of as they think of everything. Kids plates and cutlery and high chair. Tea coffee and milk for when you arrive. Tea towel, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets etc etc. We had the check in time of after 5pm which is fine, nice to have an earlier check in to be able to spend more time there but completely understandable as the place was spotlessly clean. Check out time 9am which we just made, would be nice to have it after 10am but again understandable why. We had our hit tub which we used loads, it's checked twice a day to keep it clean. We also used the on site pool, do quiet had the place pretty much to ourselves whilst there which was so relaxing and peaceful. We walked miles on a few occasions around the estate, gardens and lakes. Saw the adventure trail but never managed to have the time to use it so we definitely want to go again and next time book for a longer stay. We didn't even leave the site whilst there. Local tesco superstore not far so can get esstials from there but the site has a little honesty shop in reception if you desperately need something. Also loved the games and puzzles you can borrow. All the staff super friendly and helpful. Our daughter enjoyed it especially the big estate road to ride her bike. Thank you to you all, we will be visiting again in the future.
