Nice hostal with amazing views from our bedroom, which had a balcony and shutters to block out the light at night. Our room was at the front, and I'm glad we requested mountain views when booking as it was lovely. Comfortable beds (twins, pushed together) with plenty of blankets, although the radiators were on a lot of the time so they were not needed. Bathroom with very good lighting over the mirror, which you don't often get. Easy walk to the shops, bars and restaurants and free parking in nearby car parks and on street. Owner was friendly. My only disappointment was no tea & coffee facilities in the room, so we went out and bought a kettle, mugs etc. I'd definitely stay here again if we return to Capileira.

This Hostel is conveniently located at the entrance of the village, in front of City Hall. The rooms in this hostel are oriented facing the ravine Poqueira the back and the front of the shopping area of the town. Its large Patio / Terrace swimming pool and recreation area in a landscape of extraordinary beauty. Alongside this, a garden area gives way to a pleasant summer terrace
This hotel provided superb accomodation and food in the grandeur of the Sierra nevada. As a centre for hiking in the hills it provided a good departure point and a haven to return to. The food was such that this could have been called a gourmet trip rather than a hiking trip. Service and accomodation were both first class. I can also wholeheartedly recommend IbexTrex who organised the experience.

Never been treated so bad i a place as by the staff in this place. Perhaps the man/owner? had a bad day? But I have never been treated so bad as in this place. Horrible, no sense of service. I will certainly never ever visit this place again.

It is a trek to get to Capileira. Once you get there, you have to look for the person who will give you the key and the wood for the fire of your apartment. Elena was a lovely lady and very helpful. She started our fire for us but once the fire was gone, there was not way that we could continue to make a fire and they turn off the heater at 11 pm and do not turn back on until 8 am the following morning. So, we were cold that night and the following night because we were unable to get the fire going. We did everything Elena told us but to no avail. Well, it will be so much better if they did not turn off the heater. It was zero degree!! Other than this, the apartment has everything you need: the bed is small for two people and the kitchen is adequate for a light breakfast or lunch. The place is secluded and very private and a wonderful place to make a pit stop when you are travelling in the south of Spain between Sevilla and Valencia. Recommend it but insist that they keep heater on or learn to make a fire!!!

I want to be positive but I just can't, except about woman who met us when we arrived. The place in located in a wonderful, Bohemian village full of great bars and places to eat - but I felt they are riding on this fact and just don't care about that old fashioned thing called service! The whole building smelt of cigarettes 'covered' by strong disinfectant, the apartment was dark, ill equipped, electrical fittings were unsafe; I could go on! My advice, pick another place - and there are plenty of places to choose from, which we easily found when we decided to bail out after our first night -and found a perfect, delightful and relaxing place to stay AND cheaper!

Hotel Rural Poqueira II is a 2 Star Hotel Bed. It has an excellent location near the town hall and the entrance of the village, next to the shopping area and just across the Meson Poqueira.Respects the local architecture and all rooms are fully equipped to enjoy your stay with us and enjoy excellent views of the surroundings.
Lovely rooms, well equipped and tasteful decor. Blackout blinds on the windows. My room was equipped for disabled access, which meant there was a great walk in shower and lots of space- no whiff of institution at all! Breakfast was great- good quality, varied selection. Only problem was that staff were sleeping out at night, at the time we visited, and needed to turn something on to activate the hot water, which was a bit late at 8.15 in the morning, when you have a long day's walk in front of you. Nevertheless, planning to stay again.

The building, built in stone, respects the typical buildings of the area to meet in a town considered historical and artistic. At the entrance we have a sill, which are the beams that intersect with the beams to form the frame of the ceilings, typical of our mountain area, and type of construction which gives the hotel its name. We offer you our 12 rooms, fully equipped and organized in the three plants that make up the hotel, a room on the ground floor, five rooms on the first floor and six bedrooms on the second. We want to choose among all our rooms the one that best suits your needs in terms of space, beds and price. The terrace on the top floor of the hotel, has spectacular views of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. From here you can see among other places the Veleta Peak, the third highest in the Iberian Peninsula or the beautiful Poqueira Gorge. It is the ideal place to sit and admire the majesty of these mountains, to relax listening to the sounds of nature, read a book or to enjoy a pleasant and relaxed chat. Our indoor lounge, also located on the top floor of the hotel, has sofas, tables and a fireplace. It is a bright living room with windows from which you can also admire the mountains and is a space designed to rest on the coldest days in which time does not allow out to enjoy our terrace.
The Dueno was very obliging and had extensive knowledge of the trails, connections and Apps to suit hiking. The place was spotless and the upstairs outdoor area was very well appointed with great views all around. The mini kitchen and dining area we're very welcoming and easy to use.

Arrived on a cross country cycling trip. Large complex of rooms around a large restaurant and swimming pool area. Rooms were of a decent size and well furnished. Most importantly quite and peaceful at night. Service was good and breakfast pretty reasonable. Great location at top of village with great views of surrounding Sierra Nevada mountains.
