The All Inclusive 24h Hotel Riu Palace Boavista opened its doors in November 2018 and is situated on the Boa Vista Island, with direct access to the Praia das Dunas beach and next to Hotel Riu Karamboa. Palace is the most elegant category in the RIU hotel chain, with hotels that meet the highest standards in terms of luxury, excellence & sophistication, creating a unique experience. The hotel has 505 cozily furnished rooms with free Wi-Fi & offers modern amenities; Swim-up double rooms exclusive to guests over 18 years old. Relax in our spa or get in shape at the gym. 3 outdoor pools, 2 with swim-up bar, Children's pool. Day&evening entertainment, RiuLand kids'club, Pacha discotheque at Riu Karamboa. Our son and family rebooked Cape Verde for the third time and so we tagged along based on their rave reviews of the other Riu hotels. And the Riu Palace was absolutely excellent- spotlessly clean with the best staff I have ever come across anywhere in the world, excellent food - not boring as the choice was vast at every meal, the three pools were great, very clean and not deep. The grounds are enormous and the accommodation spread which means that the music never reverberates round the hotel late at night unlike some hotels I could mention. When we had minor room problems they were sorted quickly and efficiently. Beach is empty and stunning. So what might be wrong? Well Boa Vista is a poorly populated desert island so don't expect a lot of exciting trips unless you are lucky enough to be there when the whales are present in the bay or the turtles come ashore to breed, and similarly don't expect professional entertainment. Also it's often windy which means you need towel clips and can't go in the sea for most of the time. But the temperature is more or less constant with very little rain. It's very safe, with little evidence of human or animal predators and no snakes, no swarms of mosquitos but an occasional donkey which wanders into the grounds at night. If I were to be picky I'd say the hotel sunbeds were a little hard but you don't need to go reserving them, there is an abundance. There's no buses for self-explorations and not really much to explore anyway. There's some building work going on at the moment, Riu have another hotel next door which is being refurbished so can be a bit noisy. So absolute top of the list for a slob on the sunbed with a book and a dip in the pool kind of holiday. Good for families if you don't expect lots of water slides and the like. And at the moment it's not expensive, although given the sheer number of people who return every year that may change soon.

Me & my partner stayed here for 1 week at the end of May and had the best holiday with no complaints. The hotel was immaculate, gardeners worked really hard keeping the grounds clean, our room was cleaned everyday, the pool areas and restaurants were always really clean and tidy. Entertainment was good, the staff were always really friendly and just wanted to please people. A number of restaurants and bars, you will never be hungry or thirsty! A lot to choose from in the buffet restaurants and always really good quality. I enjoyed the iced coffees from the pool bars, they were really refreshing! The beach is the best beach I’ve been on, white sands, sea was bright blue and clear. We had a walk to Santa Maria down the beach which was lovely. The sea is a little choppy but the flags were on yellow whilst we were there so we were able to go in, we didn’t go in far, just for a paddle. We did the lemon shark experience. It was only a couple of hours but it was amazing seeing the sharks in their natural habitat, would recommend. The tour guy was a marine biologist so it was interesting finding out about the sharks and other sea life. Thank you for a lovely holiday, we will be back!

Situated on Sal, one of the 10 tropical islands forming the archipelago of Cape Verde, Hotel Morabeza invites you to stay in a charming setting, along the finest white sandy beach and just a few steps from the village of Santa Maria. We are confident that you will find your stay at our hotel to be a most enjoyable and memorable one. We look forward to welcoming you!
We were due to fly to Cape Town for Easter but PCR results didn't arrive back in time! We were distraught but friends suggested The Morebeza in CV and having never heard of either we decided if we could get a family suite and flight we would go ASAP (8 and 10 year old boys). Called the next day and a 7am flight from Bristol the following day along with a Sea side Duplex were both available so off we flew. Arrived at what can only be seen as a tropical island... although felt very moon like and dry and poor upon landing but clearly areas where tourists reside. Arrived hotel in the glorious heat and were shown to our duplex which was perfect.. boys had a twin room and private balcony upstairs and we had king size balcony downstairs with glorious views of a big clean pool and the hassle.of Santa Maria. So many plus points here are a few: Morebeza/faultless in our opinion.. Great food (best on island to be honest) and so clean.. we ate at the beach restaurantevery lunchtime (the tuna is to die for). The boys lived in the pool opposite our duplex so we were able to let them come and go (CV is apparently the safest island in Africa). Staff also delightful. Breakfast was the same every day but plenty of it. Other points of interest: leave the hotel and explore! My husband is a surfer and joined a group who went off to find the waves... he has one of his best surfs in years on our 3rd day. Do an island tour with Monica... a fabulous day! Snorkel or dive.. the PADI centre towards the Hilton was brilliant. We swam with turtles and trumpet fish and puffa fish etc.. a highlight! The bar opposite.. Ola Brasil... a daily hour or two for Caiprihinas is a must! Live music and shuts at 8pm. I'm an animal nut and walked to the end where the huge TUI hotels are every morning (over a mile.on the beach) feeding stray dogs and giving them water... heart breaking.. (I went with a local around the poor areas of the island feeding the strays one afternoon which was a wonderful experience). We were due to fly home after a week but decided to extend by another week... life is too short! I'm just amazed it isn't totally over developed.. people are worried its too windy... whilst it was blowy we weren't overly aware of it being awful and it didn't stop us lying by the pool etc. If you like Dubai and 7 star service this won't be for you/failing that go! It is going to be our staple 2 week Easter holiday from now on!Show less

Eforea spa with beauty salon, relaxation lounge, sauna and ice well. 4 restaurants and lounges, plus 24-hour room service. Casino, nautical centre, Kids Club and other leisure activities. Stylish event space with latest A/V equipment for up to 300 guests.
Amazing luxurious hotel with genuinely great hospitality from all staff, especially Giesla, Ansio and Danilo. Giesla was particularly helpful in arranging excursions, and advice on local places to dine out. Rooms and communal areas are always cleaned to the highest standard and the food was excellent; great range of freshly cooked culinary dishes and desserts. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Other facilities I liked included the sauna, steam room and tranquility space even though the jacuzzi wasn't working during our stay.

Ok holiday, won’t be going again- take euros 841785562 We arrived at the hotel after a 3 hour delay at Manchester Airport. This was at the height of the recent delays, so we were lucky it was only 3 hours. This is a typical Riu Hotel that is large, airy and looks really grand both inside and out. Staff, they are what make this hotel and one of the true positives about the place. They work so hard for very little pay. They all deserve every penny, tips, gifts that they are given. They continuously keep the hotel clean and endeavour to meet your needs constantly. The rooms are again as per every other Riu hotel room, large and spacious. We had a rear facing hotel room on this occasion and overlooked the road at the rear. This looked like a lunar landscape. In fact the majority of the island looked like this if it wasn’t in the shoreline. The hotel is in a very remote area of the island which is only an hours journey from the islands tiny airport. The road that leads to the hotel was built specifically for the hotel as there is nothing else there. This hotel is in a very remote area of the island and there is nothing around. And I mean nothing. So don’t expect a little trot out to local shops or a local pub or sights as there isn’t anything. If you do go anywhere, take euros as you can spend them as Escudos and not stuck with them because you are not able to exchange out of the country. Food in the hotel is ok. They create a massive range of dishes to try and suit all people and all types. On questionnaire days is when they push out the big dishes. If I noticed that other people must have. The specialist restaurants are better especially the Asian in my view. Let’s not talk about the entertainment apart from the Riu team try their best. Trips organised by TUI are hot and miss but we did two while there. We did the Whale watching and the visit to Sal Rei the capital. The whale watching in my mind was excellent but we only saw two whales for most of the trip, a mother and baby, and later on a male joined them. They should be honest with you and say it’s the end of the season in May/ June and that you are not really got to see anything as some people may expect more. Me o on the other hand loved even seeing a tail of the whales. The boat we sailed on was a Turkish Gillet. Wonderful trip. The sights of Sal Rei is difficult for many reasons. Mainly is that the island is a very poor and deprived place. There is intense selling, but this is uncomfortable from a cultural point of view. They are desperate for you to buy as they have very little money. They have very little in possessions and modern appliances. Just to prove a point there is a communal clothes washing station. Swimming pools. There are a few at the hotel and one in the adult area part of the hotel. Silver bands denote this privilege. You are not allowed in this part unless you wear one. Can’t comment here. But as the hotel got busier the beds became a prized possession and reserved at rediculous times in the morning by selfish people who may well take more than one for their needs. The hotel does not enforce any reservation policy, in fact I don’t think they have one, unlike other Riu hotels. Use the beach I hear you say… can’t swim. Red flag is flying all the time as the sea is so rough. Casualties are regular from the sea. Bars. There are several with a basic selection of drinks available, and beyond the beer on draught, and some spirits, cocktails are pretty naff. Finally in summary this is not a great holiday for us. As much as we like a quite chilled out time away, this really was comatosed. We liked the chilled nature, but even other Riu resorts there were accessible places to visit without having to shell out a lot of money to get there. And one final note. The airport really is a rip off so be warned.

My friend and I stayed for a week at Iberostar late May 2022. The staff were welcoming, professional and respectful. The hotel is spotless and the grounds are stunning. The rooms are well appointed and clearly the team of cleaners are well managed; as are the grounds staff. The Animation team do a fabulous job and the entertainment is well rehearsed and very enjoyable. The food in the dining hall shows imagination and quality. The themed food evenings ensure there is a constant selection of food from around the world. Lots of fish, seafood, meat in addition to pasta, omelettes, pizza etc. The Head chef should be congratulated for the immaculate presentation and the variety available. The location of the hotel is perfect. A truly wonderful holiday. Thank you to everyone. You are rightly proud of your hotel and I will be recommending it highly to my friends.
