At the foot of the Swiss Alps lies Valais, "the valley." This fabled region is a year-round favorite, with spectacular skiing in the winter and superb hiking in summer. The Matterhorn, the Great St. Bernard Pass and Zermatt are the stars of the area, but glaciers, lakes, mountain paths, castle-churches and a wealth of resorts also beckon. Visit L'Hospice du Grand St. Bernard to see the animals who helped the monks rescue travelers or the Fondation Pierre Gianadda, Roman ruins that now house modern art.

THE OMNIA – FROM THE GREAT WIDE WORLD TO THE SMALLEST DETAIL “Here on a rock surrounded by the mountains—witnesses to an era that unfolded with primordial force millions of years ago. Giant stone sculptures, dense pine forests, meadows with alpine flowers and the majestic peaks of eternal ice, ready to captivate all the senses. At 1,600 meters above sea level, a small step closer to the sun, the moon, and the sky with its passing clouds that bring the white of winter and wraps everything as if in cotton and encloses the mountainous world in silence. Here you can forget time, forget where you come from, forget where you are going. Enjoy life with all your senses. And the events of the days and nights, however big or small, are never to be forgotten. This is the place where rooms have no numbers, where the philosophy of Being and Time knows no limits, where all things tell a story of the great wide world, where they were forged and now reinvented the days in harmony with the elements.”
Our stay at The Omni was everything that we had expected. We have been waiting two years to visit since we originally had planned on arriving March 2020. After doing much research on hotels in the area there was no doubt that this would be the property that we would stay for the week when visiting Zermatt for the first time. The attention to our comfort began well before our arrival as we were emailed many times to check if we had questions or any special requests. I took full advantage of this offer asking questions and requesting their recommendations for dining, ski rentals and touring. Our transportation from the train station and our welcome to the hotel was memorable as we had just arrived after a long train ride from Paris. Enjoying drinks and a meal on the deck with a beautiful view of the Matterhorn as we waited for our luggage let us know just how special our stay would be. Our room was beautiful, perfectly prepared and had been decorated to celebrate my son’s 12th birthday. Our first dinner in town was at The Omnia and was by far the best meal we had during the trip including Paris. The food, wine and impeccable service were truly Michelin star level. Each morning we eagerly looked forward to breakfast downstairs in the same beautiful dining room. Each afternoon after skiing we swam, soaked and steamed in the gorgeous indoor/outdoor pool area. Sitting in the outdoor hot tub like snow monkeys enjoying the unbelievable views while snow fell around us was unforgettable. Each evening we would lounge comfortably in the hotel library for cocktails and sharing stories with the other guests. We want to thank every person working at The Omnia for their service during our recent stay. Their helpfulness, kindness (everyone wished my son a happy birthday) and warmth made our stay special. Your lovely staff completes the perfection of the beautiful hotel and we loved every moment of our trip. Highly recommend staying here and look forward to our future visits!

REFRESHING, RELAXING, INFORMAL SchlossHotel at one glance Always one step ahead. And always totally relaxed. SchlossHotel – with its three annexes SchlossHouse, SchlossCottage and Alex Lodge – has reinvented itself in 2020: as a place pulsating with life, for people who relish activity or blissful downtime. Cosy in winter, refreshing in summer. A place you’ll long to return to, time after time. Attentively run for generations by the Perren family, who embody the true spirit of Zermatt!
This boutique hotel is directly across the street from the train station. The spa rooms are amazing and comforting. The indoor pool has jacuzzi jets to lay down. The breakfast was fabulous with many choices, including a natural honeycomb for the honey and a waffle maker to make your waffle. The tea room had expansive choices for tea with sweets. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Only negative, no air conditioners, no ceiling fans, and no screens on the windows. The room was hot and stuffy since I refuse to open a window without a screen in the midst of a forest.

Good functional room, with a great view of the Matterhorn (for the brief moments that it emerged....!) Splendid breakfast. Convenient for the station, and not too much of an uphill hike - important at our age. A great success from our point of view.

Carina reconnects you with your senses. Surrounded by nature and peaceful calmness you find time to enjoy the essential things in life. See, feel and smell this natural setting. Time to yourself, for your family and loved ones. Make memories, but also remember. Our Play n’ Stay area invites you to do just this, take a book, play some games, enjoy a freshly brewed coffee or glass of wine from the honesty bar, which you can access 24/7 - hydration is key in the dry mountain air. If you really have to, since life doesn’t stop, just when you do, get some work done, with a fresh spirit and creative new thoughts. But make sure to take a break play some Pinball, make a handstand or find your balance. Recharge, enjoy, smile, and spend your precious time with more or less meaningful things. Be your own judge, or simply don’t judge at all. Laugh, connect and be yourself, be us, be we.

We had two rooms here with a Matterhorn view and could not have been happier. The hotel is so close to all the shops and restaurants in Zermatt but is off the beaten path enough that it was a perfect location. And the breakfast that was included in our rate was well worth it--great wide selection of foods! I would definitely stay here again!

I booked this hotel from the internet and I was hoping that it would be a good experience, but was prepared for it to be hit and miss - Zermatt being a hot spot for tourism. Before I even arrived at the hotel I was impressed with their service. I was contacted by the reception, while I was traveling to the hotel, to arrange a lift from the train station. That was a nice and positive touch that saved me a walk. On check in the staff were super friendly, explaining everything about the hotel facilities and the area. It felt very welcoming and that is always a nice touch. The room - a deluxe double - was not enormous, but it was really well designed and that made it feel nice and cosy. The terraces were really nice and added space. I did not eat in the main restaurant except for breakfast (more below), but ate two meals in the pub. The chicken nuggets are lovely - gourmet rather than fast food and the soup was generous and tasty. Back on the breakfast, they even offered champagne as part of the buffet. I don't see that at top 5 star hotels and it is beyond generous to have this on a breakfast included rate. While I did not drink the fizz, I did eat an omelette, which was one of the best cooked I have had. From check in to check out, this hotel exceeded all expectations and perhaps the nicest part was how very friendly every staff member was. In the reception, the bar, restaurant and housekeeping - everyone was super nice. I will be telling all my friends to go stay here.

The mARTigny boutique hotel is a modern and design concept, which opened the 1st of October 2015, 3 minutes away from the train station. With 52 rooms, it delivers very high quality services. It is also a pioneer in social integration, since a part of our co-workers have mental disabilities. An excellent restaurant with local and peruvian gastronomy and a wine bar complete our successfull concept.
Spotlessly clean, good service, nice restaurant, good price. The location at night is a bit strange, but when daylight comes you see how the town works: mostly new buildings in the valley around the station.

Design & Lifestyle in front of the famous Matterhorn.
My partner and I stayed 3 nights here and we loved every second of it! We wish we could have stayed longer. The rooms and our private panoramic view were spectacular. Buffet breakfast and afternoon snacks were delicious. Location was right next to the cable cart station and the staff were exceptional! They are so willing to go the extra mile to make everything perfect, they really made our stay special. Would definitely recommend Focus to anyone coming to Zermatt.

The Alpen Resort is a modern first class hotel with large and quiet rooms; most with a view of the Matterhorn. The hotel is close to the train station and only a 350 meters from the ski-lifts. We also offer an outdoor tennis courts and indoor facilities such as billiard, Ping Pong and Table Tennis. We offer a complementary pickup service from the train station in Zermatt (7am - 9 pm). All guest rooms and public areas have free high speed WiFi internet.
I've booked 2 rooms for 4 nights at this hotel from 29 May - 2 June 22 without reading any review from any platforms. I chose this hotel based on its location [ about 350m away from the train station ] and price. I didn't regret my decision. The hotel is super cosy , the furnitures are modern and new plus I get to see the Matterhorn from my balcony [ Room 005 - 1st Floor]. The room is also spacious and I can see the heated pool from my balcony. There are many shops selling food, souveniers and other stuff within walking distance from the hotel. A halal fast food store [ Take It Doner ] is located 1km away and the meals tasted really good. My only complaint is - the pillows are too soft. Other than that, the staff were super nice and friendly. Breakfast was sumptous and tasty. I will definitely recommend this hotel to all my relatives and friends.
