AL FARO Palawan, the first cosmio hotel in the Philippines combining nature with functional comfort and artistic design. AL FARO offers you the unique opportunity to discover one of the last frontiers in the Asian Pacific while you are living in a real lighthouse resort.
We very much enjoyed our long weekend at Al Faro last week. Both of our flights to and from Busuanga on Cebu Pacific were on time, and the pick-up and drop-off went very smoothly as well. It's a 30-minute drive and a 5-minute boat ride to get there from the airport, and Al Faro took care of all of the arrangements. Communication with Nenita via email was always prompt and our stay was very enjoyable. You have to climb some steep steps to get up to the resort, but the view from the top is definitely worth it. Their staff kindly carry your luggage for you on arrival and departure. Our villa overlooking the bay was tastefully decorated and we had our own covered terrace with comfortable seating from which we could watch the sun go down every evening. There's no air conditioning in the room, but the fans they provided meant that we didn't miss having it. The restaurant likewise has a pleasant view across the bay, and since it's open air, you get the benefit of a cool breeze too. The waitress service by Amor and her team was very attentive and the dishes they serve are tasty. I particularly liked the fresh fish, squid and boiled potatoes that they repeatedly cooked specially for me due to my dietary restrictions. The pizza was delicious too. There's no beach at the actual resort but they kindly organised a couple of boat trips which included lunch on nearby beaches. We also visited Calauit island, which is home to the descendants of the African animals that the Marcos family imported in the 1970s. One of the giraffes there is even called Al Faro. We'd definitely go back to stay at the resort again as we found it very good value for money. Nenita's husband would be an interesting guy to talk to as well, although sadly we the opportunity didn't really present itself until shortly before we were leaving. Hopefully next time. Thanks again for a lovely stay.

Busuanga island is made up of two towns. Coron in the east, and Busuanga in the west. It is the biggest island in the Calamianes group of islands, located north of Palawan. Busuanga is known for its dive sites, limestone islands, strings of white beach islands, water falls, lakes, virgin forests, and wildlife nature reserve. It may be the lesser known town but it encompasses most of the sites of interest in the area. It is pristine, exotic, and uncrowded. Estancia is a Spanish word for ranch, estate or farm. It is another loose translation of a place to stay or inn. This is the perfect word that the owners felt to name their vacation home, as it is all of these. La Estancia Busuanga sits on a private farm and estate, 30 minutes boat rides from nearby barrios of Salvacion, Panlaitan, and New Busuanga. It is a place not known to many except for a few select friends and family of the owners. This is their vacation home where they enjoy entertaining friends and family, which they opened in 2015 to welcome groups/individuals wanting to escape from the hustle-and-bustle of the city and enjoy nature at its best.
Our 7-day experience here is beyond words. I love how the resort is situated in a quiet part of the island away from the hustle and bustle of Coron Town. Felt like we were in paradise as every corner of the resort is a gem on its own. Their Pier has a lounge area where guests could hang out. After such a tiring day spent travelling, we spent our first night stargazing here. The view here is so picturesque esp with the lights off as you can see the stars so clearly with the silhouette of mountains and sea surrounding you. Our room was superb as well. Perfect for big groups who'd still want a sense of privacy but still stay together as it’s built adjacently, well thought of! Although wifi was unstable, there were lots of activities available to do around the resort to keep us busy. We went kayaking to explore the nearby mangroves and beach. Booked a tour to explore several islands nearby including the beautiful Black Island. This one's our favorite as it is so raw yet still beautiful. Crystal clear waters, white sand, a huge cave to explore. La Estancia was kind to arrange a lunch for us during the tour. Food here is sumptuous. Even the food back at resort's resto was great and the menu, well thought of. Food is reasonably priced considering the quality and serving size of the food we have tried. La Estancia is a place for those who prefer a quiet vacation away from the noise and crowd. With their staff's exceptional service, we felt taken care of. Will definitely recommend!

We are on the highway at the top of salvacion town. Each room provides a double and single bed. Every room has on-suite bathroom with hot and cold showers, TV's and silent type air-con with access to a veranda for view. Masters room provides king size bed. VIP room provides Queen Size bed. We are next to Sakura Restaurant that provides japanese cuisine and other local dishes at unbeatable prices.
Very friendly and accommodating. Queenie and all her staff members went out of their way to help us with everything we needed - organising our boat trips and transfers between places, preparing our packed lunch, etc. Our stay in Busuanga was easily our favourite on this trip - very relaxing and absolutely stress free. We did 2 boat trips: 1) Black Island, Dabotonay Island & South Cay from Salvacion pier; 2) Pass Island & Calumbuyan Island from Concepcion pier. We had to do a private tour on both trips as there was no one to share the boat with. Although it's more costly, it was worth it as we did not have to wait around for people and we stayed as long as we wanted to on each island without having to rush. Black/Dabotonay/South Cay have stunning beaches. While Pass & Calumbuyan have brilliant reefs. Queenie did her best to get us the best possible rate for our boat trips ???. I highly recommend White Summerville and Busuanga for anyone who prefers a laid-back, hassle-free kind of place.

I stayed in Alam Indah Resort Hotel for 3 nights in June 2022. The best experience I have ever had, completely once in a lifetime!! I'm a global traveler, so I dont say that lightly... My partner and I got picked up at the airport in a van (1hr journey), and got given drinks upon arrival. We got given the BEST villa, a beach seafront villa/cottage with a private balcony overlooking the waterfront. The booking.com pictures did not do it justice, as it was pre covid and pre renovation. I was expecting the photos I had seen which informed me of bugs, no air-conditioning and a camp like experience. We got all the nature with the best bits of modern luxury! The villa was big with an extra large king size bed, a lounge chair, bench and room for a sofa as well. Our balcony doors opened onto the terrace that looked onto the clear blue ocean and private beach. The terrace also had a large sofa lounge chair, big enough for two people to lie down with their legs up, as well as a little table and set of chairs. The villa had a hallway corridor that posed as a walk in closet with plenty of room for clothes and luggage to hide away, and a view of the ocean. This led to the modern bathroom, with a huge rain shower room (big enough to fit a small family of 4!) and the toilet. Again, plenty of space. The villa was just spectacular, we had plenty of room to dance around, the air conditioning was more than sufficient and the bed and mattress topper was extremely comfortable! We have to give an extra shout-out to the manager, Erwin, who went above and beyond to find scooter motorcycles for us in the neighboring town. Due to COVID, the staff was short and the kitchen wasnt functioning fully to provide lunch and dinner meals, only breakfast. So these scooters were a necessity to ride into town and get food to eat and snacks/drinks to put into our fridge. We rode into town and collected our scooters with the promise to return it on a full tank. This was 500PHP per day with a 1000PHP deposit. I cant stress enough how important these scooters were... With it, we went to neighboring areas (town, the bridge) and most importantly, got to see Concepcion Falls, a hidden spring waterfall tourist destination. We ventured daily into the Busuanga Town of Salvacion, where there were a few locals restaurants and shops. This time of year, the rainfell around noon almost everyday, so we timed our trips to town around this and ate indoors whilst it rained. The rest of the time was spent enjoying Alam Indah. Tanning on the private beach, having meals served right on the beach seaside, watching the sunrise, and on one of the nights, witnessing the thousands of stars that filled the skies. We also enjoyed walking along the pier, where we were served a beautiful breakfast one morning by the staff. One morning, we even woke up at 5:30am to try to catch the sunrise and received an early morning coffee to our surprise - we felt very cared for. This location is absolutely unique. It only has 3 villas, so youre almost guaranteed peace and quiet. We were lucky to have no other guests there on our first two nights and experienced total tranquility and peace. There was very limited signal for data, so we werent using our phones much. This is the place to come to if you want to totally unwind and unplug from the world. Highly recommend especially for couples. A final shout out to our amazing caretaker, Werwin. He was there for us every morning and evening. Bringing us breakfast, sometimes waiting for us when we came back on our scooters to help us park it inside (heavy scooters with a downhill slant). He even heated up our food we had stored in the fridge one time and set the table up for us to have an evening beach meal. His kindness and warmth was truly felt! Alam Indah was the best villa I have ever stayed at. The modern villa with beautiful views and complete privacy and quiet - is a place like no other. Upgrade your photos immediately Alam Indah - No doubt you will be fully booked! I hope to return again in the future, thank you for having us! - Rachel Li @travelingrachie

Go native and stay at Palawan SandCastles, ground-zero for wreck and reef diving, including the world-renowned Apo Reef. SandCastles is a strategic launch pad to discover Palawan's islands and marine life. An expedition camp & beach resort for 4x4 wildlife safaris, dugong watching, mountain biking, sea kayaking, snorkeling and island hopping through the hundreds of islands of Palawan's Calamian archipelago.
Didn’t stay here but went for the day for kayaking. The area is beautiful and the kayaks were in good condition. The owner showed us the best places to go to and found a couple of islands all to ourselves.

We stayed here over Christmas. Unfortunately the island was experiencing a typhoon which meant all tours, etc were cancelled. Luckily for us we were staying here and the staff were on hand to help us in every way possible. This is a small resort which meant we got to know the other guests. The food, coctails, massage, etc where brilliant. The staff were the people that made this place special. They couldn't do enough for us and did everything with a smile. The hotel was very secluded (except for a hotel next door). This made it very quiet but also added to the tranquility. Because of the isolation the stars at night were beautiful! You should know that there is quite a lot of Wildlife. We had a pet lizard for the duration of our stay (it kept the bugs away!!!). My only negative comment would be that the food is quite expensive and because of its location the only other option is the neighbouring hotel. Overall a beautiful place that I would highly recommend.

Our place is 40km away from the busy town of Coron. We are in front of Concepcion pier. The only place in Concepcion with sand beach. Our dining is the perfect spot to watch the sunset and bats watching while having your cold beers or our best seller cocktail- a Mango frozen daiquiri. We have wood fire pizza oven. We have our own pier where you can sit while watching the sunset and a view. We have
The positive about this Lodge is the beautiful sunset and the view on the hundreds of thousands of Bats flying over just after sunset. Also the young helpful boy at the beach bar was very friendly. Our basic cabin was one of a double which had really thin walls so you could hear your neighbors whispering. It had two windows which we left closed because there were no musquito netts in them. The airconditioning was good. The shared bathroom wasn’t cleaned very often, the bin was emptied after three days when it was full. The other bathroom (no hot water) didn’t have any toilet paper or soap. They have a small menu which was ok but something simple as a banana pancake or fruit wasn’t there. Two of the three days there was no cold beer, only because they filled the fridge too late. When we asked for a soft drink in stead of beer they only had Coke, which we didn’t like. And yes, it all has to come from Coron town which is about an hour driving but next door at Ann & Mike’s Place the have a lot more choice so we went there for dinner and breakfast. With a little more attention this could be a so much better place. A missed change...
