Winner Merit Award for Best Hosted Accommodation in Western Australia in 2004, every concievable luxury, spas, en-suites, historic home antique king sized four poster bed, set in 5 acres of garden on the Blackwood river in the heart of southwestern West Australia. Banquets and conferences in historic barn.
Made a very last min decision to go for a one night stay...simply just to see those autumn leaves at Balingup. But everywhere was booked out so the best option was to stay at the next town Bridgetown. Overall my stay at Ford House was ok. I gave 4 stars for the amazing service and breakfast and garden, BUT unfortunately sleep quality is not very good at all. The historical house is beautiful and well maintained. My single Green room was clean and big enough for myself. It took a while to get warm and comfortable cos I arrived quite late, but once I did, it was great! Bathroom was clean and shared, but I didn't really have to wait or fight for it much so it was alright. The kitchen, dining room and lounge room were also all very well taken care off too. The staff were amazing and very friendly. Trish served me on my checkin and she already turned on the heater to warm up my room. I also met a very lovely couple who's a friend of the owner and they kindly offer their house for my stay when I come back next time. It's always nice when you get to know the locals. The most memorable part of my stay was the delicious breakfast! Those homemade peaches were simply delightful. The chef cooked an amazing omelette! I should have asked if I could have the fried eggs too (happy to pay extra charge) cos I heard from other guests the fried eggs were amazing. The breakfast barn and the tables and shops setup literally took my breath away. Couldn't stop taking pictures! There are lots of beautiful gifts and products to buy. The beautiful gardens and ginger bread house were very relaxing and cute. I actually spent more time here in the garden after my check out than at Balingup which actually worked out to be better cos there's barely any autumn leaves left at Golden Valley Tree whereas at Ford House, there's still one tree left, right outside of the house where I was at, that still had those beautiful fiery red autumn leaves so I took quite a bit of pictures with it LOL A stroll right up to the river and the bridge was very peaceful and relaxing. And I also love the small town of Bridgetown and the peaceful picturesque drive to/from. Now the bad parts: Like I said, I couldn't really sleep well at all. My Green Room is in a house with 4 other rooms, though it shares bathroom with only 2 rooms. As expected with shared house/facilities, you would definitely hear everything and everyone! Unless you're a really deep sleeper. Footsteps on squeaky floors, ppl waking up to go to bathroom in the middle of the night, I even heard the guy next door snoring LOL and the Green Room was right next to the bathroom so I could hear the toilet flushing, showers etc...but like I said, it was kinda expected. Hence I still give 4 stars. Also, the heater in my room was actually quite small and not enough to warm up the room. So it got quite cold at some point at night, but after I settled in with all the blankets, it was alright. Overall it was an ok stay. A detached house would be better but obviously more expensive. But other than that, it's a beautiful property run by amazing owner and staff.

Enjoy 15 quiet acres close to the town centre, river walks and local wineries.Choice of one self contained cottage that sleeps four, one queen size room, one double room, or one single room. Massage treatments, Reflexology, Reiki, Meditation and Therapeutic spa offered on premise.
This was the worst place ever,I only spent one night there and paid for three but I just couldn’t take the smell the old linen and when one leaves to go to town she goes into your room and goes through your dirt bins ,there is no privacy The room is right by her back door there’s only one window one can look through , the pictures on the add does not agree with the real deal , I paid for one room and on arrival I was told to pay another $45 because she put me in a bigger room ,watt a nightmare!! She also said when she saw I was not happy with this deal that there is no returning of money back,! I definitely think that this Pamela’s retreat must be closed down health wise it’s dirty bugs every wear!! Please don’t support this place ,!!! Watt a big mistake!!! Never will she see me again!!

Jeff and Dani are outstanding hosts. The food was excellent. The room was cosy and extremely comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble. Also very close to town centre with many eateries. Jeff,s personal entertainment was enjoyable and he is very passionate about the local history of Bridgetown.

The Bridgetown Hotel is a Grand 1920 Federation Style Country Hotel in arguably WA's most beautiful country town. The hotel encompasses 8 spa suits accessed directly from the hotels first floor balcony, restaurant, cafe and bar on our ground floor that are open for lunch and dinner every day, outdoor garden deck and boutique bottleshop within a short stroll of town shops, galleries, breath taking scenery and the magnificent Blackwood River. Guest rooms offer a flat screen TV, air conditioning, and a refrigerator, and Bridgetown Hotel makes getting online easy as internet access is available. You can also take advantage of some of the amenities offered by the hotel, including room service and outdoor furniture. In addition, guests can enjoy an on-site restaurant during their visit. As an added convenience, there is free parking available to guests.
The hotel is lovely, the accommodation has lovely large room with front verandas. The bathroom is large with spa but there is no exhaust to draw out the moisture and the floors become very slippery, I tried to put the vertical window up but would not stay open so had to hook it to the blind. The complimentary breakfast was very nice with good variety. After returning from our day out return to room and the only housekeeping to be done was rubbish bin emptied, supplies replenished and two replacement bath mats as they where extremely wet. No fresh towels, no bed made, no coffee cups washed and set up. When your paying full price for second night the room should be completely refreshed for your return, so was quite disappointed with this. Location is great close to all shops.

Tweed Valley Lodge is an RAC rated 4 star adult retreat offering luxury self contained accommodation in a tranquil setting on the banks of the Blackwood River. Magnificent gardens and native wildlife abound and daily bird feeding is one of the highlights. The lodge is just 2 km from downtown Bridgetown.
While reports had shown that this property was a bit hard to find, we arrived and found it easily. There were notes waiting for us on Reception door indicating our unit and where to find the key. When we entered the room, it was bright and open stretching from a small entry with bathroom beside it, then into the kitchen and a large bedroom with table and two chairs, plus two sitting chairs and a small tv. On the wall. Immediately outside was an enclosed space with another table and three easy chairs to sit outside in the fresh air. It is early spring and as we drank our cup of tea, the birds were visiting the deck to eat seed which had been laid out for them. The deck is a large area with more tables and stools to sit at while enjoying the barbecue also there for guests use. Several guests came out to enjoy a wine in the lovely fresh air. The area is quiet except for bird noises and general low hum of what little traffic was nearby. From the deck you can see down into the gardens and into the small river below. Our unit led directly onto the deck but there were several others with their own balconies and bird feeders. I suspect they were the slightly smaller units as we had sourced a king size bed. These units had under cover parking, however our parking was in the general carpark, this choice probably affected by the lodge’s units following the rivers process. A continental breakfast was provided in the kitchen which you could prepare yourself. There was fruit juice, cereal, bread & butter and a supply of condiments. The normal tea and coffee were also here. A toaster, kettle and small frypan were also available for use.

The house is purpose built, with 4 large bedrooms each with ensuite, 3 with balconies. The spacious guest's lounge has a relaxing atmosphere overlooking the beautiful gardens and valley.
We stayed here for the wonderful Bridgetown Garden Festival, and it was perfect. Four wonderful rooms (there were 4 of us, so a room each). Great beds, with excellent linen, everything super clean. Everyone loved the fresh bread made each morning with local jams. Nice large grounds to walk in. Every room had an en suite. Thanks!

Roger and Luda welcome you to Country Cottages of Bridgetown. We have 4 x 2 bedroom and 1 bathroom fully self contained cottages. Close to the picturesque Blackwood River and 3 mins by car from Bridgetown, winter capital of Western Australia.
Stayed here in 3 cabins with my extended family in January. Clean comfortable rooms. The kids liked the animals. Pool was unavailable but I was told that but their laundry area was unavailable too as no washing machine. Nice spot to unwind and relax.

Everything you need, nothing that you don't, would highly recommend if staying in Bridgetown. Rick & Kate were very easy to deal with, wonderfully accommodating and their property is beautiful. Breakfast was delicious, too!
