Kayu Manise Villa Bedugul is an adventure retreat encompassed in Bali’s green landscape on an botanical garden and agricultural-rich district of Bedugul. Best suited for a weekend gateway or discovery trip to experience a different side of Bali’s charm. Situated on the side of the hillside in the lush highlands of Bali at more than 1500 meters above sea level with picturesque mountain scenery a

What can we offer that the others don't? Exclusive get-away location up in the mountains with access to all the fun things to do in Bali but without the constant harassment of hawkers and touts. We have a fun location that has plenty of fresh air, great food, great drink and a laid back atmosphere. We also feature Personal Training, Organised Cross Country Runs, Rock Climbing, Camping, Guided trekks , tours to Bedugul , Kintamani Lovina and Ubud.
Johnny and his wife Utami run a 4 room guesthouse out of their home in the jungles of Northern Bali. You’re not going to get a typical well trodden tourist trail here. You’re going to be invited into the home of a passionate and knowledgeable guide who will bushwhack you across valleys to incredible secret waterfalls. The guesthouse is simple but what it lacks in luxury it makes up for in breathtaking views & hospitality and enthusiasm from the hosts. This is an authentic trekking experience! Also, I’ll let you in on a little secret.... Johnny is an Englishman and a wizard in the kitchen. Take a bottle of wine with you, order the crispy duck roast in advance and enjoy what has to be one of the best roast dinners I’ve had in my life. You won’t be disappointed. Thanks Johnny and Utami!

We hadn't any reservation for that night and we were all day driving we didn't know where to go and they opened their doors for us late at night. Very nice homestay, with lovely views, amazing breakfast and a big room with a comfortable bed. The staff were lovely!!! Terima kasih!!!

PROS: The room was spacious, comfy, and quite warm, especially at night when the temperature could go down until 16 - 17 degrees. The mattress warmer was very useful. The hot shower worked well. Breakfast portion was generous and quite tasty, especially the American option. The staffs were very friendly and helpful, two thumbs up for the hospitality. CONS: WiFi was very bad (I stayed at Cabin 1 and it felt sucks because the smart TV in the room was relying on WiFi connectivity. So when the WiFi signal was bad, the TV couldn't work properly.

Whilst it's location is fantastically close to the botanical gardens (a must-see in Bedugul!), this accomodation didn't offer much else. The staff hardly spoke any English, the sheets were torn and old and my friend and I didn't use the bathroom out of fear during our time there. The toilet overflowed onto the floor everytime it was flushed! It's a pity, as the outside of the rooms are beautiful and it would be a lovely location to stay if given an upgrade.

We booked one room for this hotel uppn recommendation of a local. The resort is situated next to the lake, 15 minutes walk to the Pura. The resort itself is beautifull, you can have cabines with nice views over the lake. The room (1) was terrible. It is bad isolated so the mist around the mountains bring a lot of moist inside. In addition our room lies next to a mosque, who where performing loud ramadam rituals during the night. Shower is decent, toilets are clean. Beds were bad, matrasses were horrible. In overall we did not have a good night. The staff are friendly and service is ok. Book a bungalow here, backpackers should prefer a homestay. We wanted a nice hotel for a change but it backfired.
