Located a bit outside of the town of Barreal, very nice location overlooking the mountains (Andes). Very charming posada, very nicely decorated. The main house consists of the restaurant and a lounge room and a nice terrace. The rooms are in small houses (2 rooms share a house). Nicely decorated, simple but charming. Nice terrace with Mountain View. Food is very good, good breakfast with fresh products. The choice is limited but all is good quality. Dinner is very good as well. All plates were very good. Reasonable wine list with also some local wines. The owner and his wife were very nice and helpful. I can highly recommend this charming posada. It is not very luxurious, but extremely charming. Some remarks: they do not accept credit card so ensure you have enough cash with You. The pool was nice but not very clean, but maybe my time was not ideal.

Cultural and architectural heritage The house, built in 1928 with adobe and rammed earth, is an example of typical Cuyo rural architecture. It was the first dwelling in Barreal and bore the name "Los Andes". At the time, it belonged to Mr. Adán Araya and his wife, Adila. The current owners of the large house, which had been neglected for several years, bought it in 2007. They immediately began work to recycle, restore and consolidate the existing structure and to build bathrooms. Thus, it became a model of local Cuyo architectural conservation. It is an Ecolodge because we seek to minimize the environmental impact of our activity by reducing, reusing and recycling.
While this property may seem a bit basic, it was actually very comfortable and good value. The surrounds are a bit untidy but that's part of the experience of visiting this out of the way part of Argentina. Martha was ever so friendly and helpful. Plumbing could do with some improvements but basically everything worked OK.

Barreal is a one horse town, we didn't see any other places but suspect that this place is a solid choice. It's hard to find the hotel. The best bet is to stop at the tourist office in the main street and they will give you a map and mark the place on it as it is out in the suburbs (if one horse towns have suburbs). The place doesn't have many rooms, they are more like cabins, but ours was fine. It had a kitchen and was very clean. It even had a small balcony. No air con but there was a breeze (this is a hot part of the world in summer). We asked for dinner and the food was fine, steak if I remember and a bottle of wine. We ate outside as it is still warm after dark and there were no bugs or anything. Breakfast was fine and the bill for supper seemed reasonable. Cash only but takes dollars. Wifi was very good near main house.

La posada es hermosa. Un excelente lugar de descanso. Celestino y su familia cuidan de cada detalle. El desayuno es riquísimo, casero. Las habitaciones son muy cómodas y todo funciona a la perfección. Es un lugar para quedarse varios días.

Nice place to stat in Barreal, the staff was extremely helpful (thank you so much Oriana - working on her 38+ week pregnant!) Rooms are spacious and nice, breakfast good and we had once dinner and was definitely best on we had from Barreal Only thing to improve, would be to get extension of Wifi, so it can also reach rooms (a the moment is only on communal areas as listed)

LA CASA DE FELI is a cozy country house located in Barreal in the province of San Juan, Argentina. It opens its doors to visitors from all over the world who seek to combine the hospitality of its owners, the offer of multiple services and the tranquility of the countryside.Located strategically within Barreal, it is the perfect starting point to enjoy all activities that Barreal offers, including walks along its tree-lined trails, poplar groves and weeping willows with incredible views of the Andean mountain range, horseback riding and biking. You may also visit the El Leoncito observatory or if you prefer do some fly-fishing. And for the most adventurous, Barreal offers several options such as rafting the river Los Patos, land sailing (windcar) in the nearby Barreal Blanco, mountain climbing and expeditions in 4x4 trucks
If you are looking for a place well away from it all, well this is it! The lodges at El Mirador a Los Andes are newly built, clean, spacious and very comfortable. The view to the Andes monuntains is very impressive. The draw back is that the swimming pool surroundings are still unfinished (deck under construction, just dust around the pool area). So if you are going inmediately after I write this review, beware of this detail if seating by the pool is what you had in mind. The owner, Lidia, is very friendly and helpful and she has thought of little details such as providing shampoo, soaps, kitchen roll and tea towell. The cost for a new, spacious lodge is very good value for money.

Vintage building completely conditioned with all the modern commodities. Two independent apartments, one for up to 10 guests with four rooms and two bathrooms and the other for up to 6 guests with tree rooms and two bathrooms. Green surroundings with centenary trees and plenty of history, which makes us feel sent back in time to a very particular and enchanting place.

The "Mirador a los Andes" ("Lookout to the Andes") resort includes five cabins with an amazing view to the Andean ridge. Each cabin is named after the most important mountains that can be observed from the complex (each of them are over 5500m high). EAch of the cabins are fully equipped with a private bathroom, split air conditioner and comfortable new beds with high density mattresses, a generous kitchenette with dining table and chairs, refrigerator, electric oven and a complete dinner set. Each of them includes a spacious veranda that allows enjoying an imposing landscape. The resort includes free parking place and we also offer several barbecues for you to prepare a tasty "asado". Cabin 1 is a one-room apartment (460ft2), cabin 2 a one-room apartment (544ft2) and cabin 3 a two-room apartment (700ft2).
