Sitting alongside the quay below Bantry House, The Maritime Hotel and Suites is built to four star specifications while the interior is finished in a modern nautical style. The hotel consists of 110 luxury bedrooms including a mix of 1 and 2 Bedroom Family Suites, the majority of which overlook Bantry Bay. A large function room provides excellent conference, wedding and banqueting facilities with a capacity for up to 270 guests as well as a range of conference rooms of varying capacity. The hotel also has a state of the art leisure centre, You Time Spa Treatment Rooms and an underground car park.
I booked two quiet rooms, I spoke twice to hotel staff prior to arrival to confirm same. On arrival, we received two rooms at the back of the hotel as requested, but one of the rooms had a fan making noise. I rang reception who told me that this would go off around 10/11pm. Not my definition of a quiet room. The other room booked was a solo parent and one child which was supposed to be a twin room. I received a double bed and the smell of smoke/musty smell was awful. I rang reception to be moved, they put me onto the duty manager who said there were no other rooms available at the back of the hotel. Totally unsatisfactory, so we checked out. Would not recommend this hotel, customer service was shocking. When I dropped back the key cards, I barely got a sorry from the reception staff.

My daughter, sister and I stayed at the Westlodge last week to attend my son's wedding in Gougane Barra with a reception in The Tin Pub, Ahakista which were both utterly magical and fantastic but I need to mention how wonderful the staff were at Westlodge in Bantry. Ada and Joanne in Reception, Tom in the dining room and Joe in the bar plus the wonderful housekeeping lady who took time out to iron my son's shirt (sorry I didn't catch her name) plus all the staff were so professional and helpful and went above and beyond to make our stay very special indeed. Thank you all very much. Sending love to you all. Susie x

When we arrived, the outside appearance did not bode well, however, once inside we were greeted by a very nice young lady who showed us to our rooms. We both had rooms with stunning views over the falls, very clean, tidy, comfortable and warm. The food was really lovely, although not too great a choice for a veggie, however, John was really friendly and entertaining! There was a young man singing and playing guitar the first evening, he was really good and we joined in! Breakfast in the morning was again a wee bit disappointing for a veggie, great for carnivores though! John's service again was really great, giving out ideas of where to visit etc. Our meal the next evening was also very good and then we had the experience of a lot of older people descending into the pub. What a night!!! The couples were Irish dancing and we were really exhausted just watching them, they never really sat down! We were asked to join in, we would not have been able to keep up with them all! Our relatives went up to bed and we stayed down to watch them, however, we had to call it a day and they were all still going!!! They did not even make a noise when leaving! Breakfast again in the morning was good and John very attentive. The only one niggle we had, was a dog barking in the room next to our relatives room, which did disturb them a wee bit. This was one of our favourite hotels during our stay in Ireland and would definitely stay again.
