Former home of the Lipton Tea Family, built in 1902, this elegant mansion is set in its own fabulous grounds in the heart of the Cairngorm National Park, ideally located for the Speyside Malt Whisky Trail. It has retained many original features and offers the highest standards of Scottish hospitality. Each bedroom is individually appointed to the highest standards. Open log fires and original wood paneling. Exquisite Afternoon Cream Teas, large selection of Malt Whiskies, Local Gins and Beers. Pet Friendly.
A family of 12 eccentrics for a vow renewal and a reason to explore. Afternoon tea rivaled The Ritz. Spud the piper was welcomed like family with an offer of tea during pre ceremony preparations. We corresponded for a year with the generous hosts Iain and Elaine. They were gold star contacts on local resources. Highly recommended for groups such as ours or smaller.

The Speyside Hotel is a tranquil, Country House style Hotel in the middle of Grantown-on-Spey. The Ghille bar, open from 4pm daily, boasts a wide range of Gin, Whisky, Spirits, Wine, and Soft Drinks. Our bright conservatory can be used for private functions and events. The elegant dining room serves breakfast daily, and also a bistro style dinner for residents. There is ample parking to the front of the property and a beer garden nestled at the rear. The hotel is a short walk from all local amenities, the famous river Spey, and is a short drive to the Cairngorm mountains.
We stayed at the Speyside Hotel as a central point for day trips from one side of Scotland to the other, but one day we stayed "home" and explored this delightful town full of friendly, welcoming folks. Mark, Lucy, Mel, and Allison were helpful, friendly, and caring. The hotel itself is what I would call authentic. It has history and atmosphere. Many seating places to fit your need. The food was awesome, the bar selection vast, the service above and beyond. The location is just off the main street, so quiet, but an easy walk to town. If, or should I say when, we return to Scotland, I am pretty sure we will plan a large part of our exploring around the Speyside Hotel and Grantown on Spey. Maybe the craft beer brewery will be open by then! Thanks Mark, Lucy, Mel, and Allison

Husband and I treated our elderly mother to a jubilee break. We had a round of golf whilst she enjoyed watching the celebrations on TV She had a small but comfortable single room. The TV didn’t work but staff quickly replaced it when it wasn’t a simple fix. No lift so luckily she was reasonably fit but 2flights was just about her max. Staff pleasant and welcoming Lounge too small and bar more like a dining area Everything was comfortable and food good but I thought accommodation was expensive for an ‘Inn’

An authentic Highland inn, full of rustic charm and the perfect base for a tour of the Scottish Highlands and the Cairngorm National Park. Our award winning real ale & whisky bar is the centre of our community, providing a genuinely welcoming atmosphere and a great source of information on what to see and do in the area.
We stayed for three nights in late May while birdwatahing in some very cold, inclement weather, and the Cairn was just what you wanted to return to every afternoon. Although the room was a little dated it was a good size, extremely clean, and very comfortable. Unusually for me, I slept well. There was plenty of storage and a comfy sofa, not to mention some high quality biscuits to go with the tea and coffee. The staff were lovely. It may be my imagination, but the staff we met here and, indeed, in other hotels/B&Bs have been a huge asset to the establishments. Those at the Cairn were exceptional. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. I'm going to review the food separately. It was excellent.

Escape to the country and stay in the heart of the Scottish Highlands at our Premier Inn Aviemore hotel. We're within the bounds of Cairngorms National Park, ideal for a hike across the peak of Ben Macdui or discovering nearby Loch an Eilein and Loch Morlich. The grand highland estate, Rothiemurchus, is under a mile away and hosts fun activities like pony treks, clay shoots and quadbike rides.
This was the worst hotel experience during a three week road trip around Scotland. •Room was poorly ventilated as window was non opening. •Cooked breakfast was cold. •Member of staff I dealt with had an awful attitude. This was a very disappointing stay. I have used Premier Inns many times before and have usually found them ok.

The Duke of Gordon Hotel is situated in the Town of Kingussie in the heart of the Cairngorm National Park. The hotel was originally a Coaching Inn built in the mid 19th century as a horse changing stop for coaches traveling between Perth and Inverness. The hotel was extended several times during the 20th century to the building you see today. The hotel is a traditional style Highland Hotel offering the comfort of a country house but with modern amenities. The hotel was used as a filming location for the BBC Series 'Monarch of the Glen' from 2000 to 2005. The Clan Macpherson Gathering has been held at the Duke of Gordon every August since 1938. The hotel is a popular wedding venue and many family events have taken place in the Ballroom. All guest rooms are ensuite with flat screen Televisions, Direct Dial Telephone, Hospitality Tray and WiFi throughout the building. Ceud mìle fàilte (a hundred thousand welcomes)
Just stayed 2 nights at this lovely hotel with my husband and family. Food was absolutely gorgeous, I had haddock on first night and salmon on the second and both were so good. Throughly enjoyed our starters and desserts. Powerful shower, one of the best, home from home. Also, a very comfortable bed. Enjoyed driving around the local area and seeing the sights. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone having a trip to the Cairngorm National Park.

The Nethybridge Hotel hotel is a splendid Victorian building nestled in the Cairngorm Mountains. All rooms have en suite bathrooms, hairdryer, television, telephone and tea and coffee making facilities. The hotel benefits from a lift to all floors. WiFi is free in all Public Areas as well as in Superior Room and all rooms when booking direct with the hotel. Guests arriving by car can take advantage of the free onsite car park. The beautiful gardens are the ideal place to relax in. The games room is available whatever the weather. The Abernethy Restaurant specialises in Scottish dishes using fresh produce. There is a selection of fine wines available to accompany each meal. The bar and lounge has a bar snack menu and a selection of Scottish whiskies. The nearby River Spey is filled with salmon making it a perfect location for angling enthusiasts. The Cairngorn Mountains are often snow covered making skiing possible. The Strathspey Steam Railway is also worth a visit.
On the Nethybridge Hotel website it clearly states that they do takeaway. You can browse and select from the online takeaway menu. We like to eat early as my 5yr old goes to bed early. I popped into the hotel just after 5pm (when the theoretically available food begins). I wandered through the large restaurant and bar area. Empty! One lonely looking chap propping up the bar. I found 3 or 4 staff at reception. I asked if we could order from the takeaway menu. I got this response: 'We normally do takeaway but we're too busy tonight'. 5pm... Not a single restaurant customer in site...

A country style hotel based in the heart of the Highlands.
We visited the Garth hotel for a celebration. We'd been before and the friendly staff and amazing food made us want to come back. The table was booked in advance with a very good value for money menu. Communication was amazing and the hotel are so friendly and easy to deal with. The staff were very friendly and attentive from the moment we arrived. Service was great. The food was better than I could have imagined and everyone loved their meals. The only problem we had was that we struggled to finish dessert. I wouldn't consider anywhere else to eat. Thanks to Peter and his team for everything, we had a great time and will hopefully be back soon.

Refurbished 4 Star hotel in the Cairngorms National Park. Dating back to 1765, previous Guests include Queen Victoria and the present Queen. Facilities include Restaurant (AA Rosette) and Café Bar. The Hotel prides itself on its friendly and comfortable atmosphere. With some of the best wildlife and bird watching in the U.K. on its back doorstep, the Hotel is a must for bird watchers and naturalists. Direct bookings welcome. Please ring us for Special Offers.
Not had the chance to revisit since 2017 due to lockdown. However this hotel never disappoints. Extremely Friendly helpful staff, comfortable rooms. Excellent service - good food. The facilities for wildlife watchers remain excellent with very helpful input from a visiting guide every morning. "Club room" with well stocked library and a good range of wildlife books for sale too. Plenty of advice/information available. On one evening the gas supply to the hotel failed resulting in some disruption to the evening meal. The manager put himself up front and personally explained to all the guests what had happened and offered very reasonable alternatives. Sometimes a business can be judged when things go wrong - the manager responded in an excellent manner, others would have hidden away in their office and let staff deal with it Not this one!! Highly recommend this hotel especially for wildlife lovers/watchers. We will definitely be returning.

Can’t believe some of the negative reviews, we had a lovely weekend in the hotel, family of 9 were treated brilliantly by staff, food was excellent and will be back as soon as we can, we’ll done John and Frauke for leading such a friendly hard working team of staff in such a challenging time for recruiting into the hospitality business .
