Reviewed By Lodewijk HThe place lies just outside the centre and is quit and piece full. The owners Luca and Erica give you a warm welcome and make you feel at home. They give you everything you need and help you with tips and give a excellent service. We enjoyed our stay here for three nights. We also made use of the restaurant located beside the B&B and they have excellent food and service for a great price. Thanx for the great time. Best regards, Lodewijk

Hotel's got new management since March 12th 2012. Located just 1 km outside the motorway to Florence (exit Altopascio) 3 kinds of rooms (economic, standard and comfort). Restaurant inside and outdoor with a full choice of Tuscan wine, buffet breakfast, Wifi free in all the hotel, large parking for cars and bus. Distances: Montecatini 10 min. - Montecarlo 10 min. - Lucca 15 min. - Pisa Airport and Florence Airport 30 min. Available on request transfer from and for the airport.

Reviewed By June FI stayed here very briefly while on a walking trip. The accommodation was adequate for the purpose and the property is well located in the town. I left my tablet behind, but thanks to the helpfulness of the and assistance of the team there It was returned to me in the UK.

Casal Sant'Elena, is a former Tuscan old farmhouse completely renovated in 2009. Situated about 2 Km from the center of Altopascio and the historic town of Lucca. Easy access from the A11 highway exit. Close to the city, but at the same time in the peaceful Tuscan countryside; near the main art and historic cities like, Lucca, Pisa, Florence, Siena, San Gimignano and seaside resorts like Versilia, Torre del Lago e Forte dei Marmi.

Reviewed By Mariana_z00We spent a weekend in the hotel and it was really nice, it is a family owned business and they were always nice and friendly. The hotel is strategically located close to Lucca, Pisa and Florence as well as other small towns, the rooms are nice and clean. Definitely would come back.

Hosted by Romano, Anna and their charming son, Matteo, we enjoyed a delicious homemade lunch, several wine tastings and a brief tour of the winery. Absolutely fantastic! If their hospitality for our two hour visit is any indication of what it would be like to stay there, I say run, don't walk to book your stay here. Molto bene!

OK. NOT in Altopascia !
Reviewed By lipstickloverThe hotel is about 2-3 miles from Altopascia. It was fine but not quite as grand as it looks on the website. The entrance shown on the website is round the back - when you arrive at the hotel the front doesnt look very inspiring. I had emailed several times and requested single beds but on arrival both rooms were made up as doubles and we had to push to have them changed.We had to wait 30 mins which was annoying as we were tired after a long walk on the Via Francigena. The rooms and ensuites are Ok - clean but nothing special. Breakfast ok. Quite noisy because near a busy road with railway line behind. *** However, after the bed debacle the manageress was extremely helpful and gave us a lift into Altopascia for our evening meal and also the next morning to continue our walking.

Peaceful and beautiful location
Reviewed By Eleanor MWe had a lovely stay in this hotel following our first leg of the Via Francigena from Lucca to Siena and it was a wonderful experience. Fabio who took care of our booking and orientation on arrival (and picked us up from Altopascio as we were unsure of the walk down the road) was so friendly and kind. We loved the location and enjoyed a swim and relaxing hour at the pool. Clean and spacious room with plenty of towels etc. Only downside for us was that we should had brought some wine or snacks with us from the town as no bar available onsite. Walked ten minutes in the dark up to the restaurant Tratorria Natale which had wonderful food and we really enjoyed that but forgot we had to walk back!! Seemed longer that way! Overall I would highly recommend this lovely agri tourism hotel in the middle of the country though a little far from Altopascio - would have to get a taxi there and back as no lighting on the road so be aware of that.

Ok for one night
Reviewed By Nicole NWe made a reservation at this place as we would be passing through while we traveled through the region. Altopascio is a quaint little town with places to eat downtown. Some interesting buildings. I'd give it a 3/5 as the rooms are dated and not that great considering; however the host was very friendly upon our arrival and so were the women serving us breakfast which made our stay that much better.
