Surprise new hotel at Alpine

Due to the power outage at Big Bend, we decided to check out Chisos Mountains Lodge and booked this hotel at very last minute. Luckily to be able to redeem points for free night. Room was clean and well presented. Breakfast was IHG standard. Staffs kept up with breakfast selections. Nothing really special, besides its location – outsides of Big Bend NP that many people opt for it over old lodgings in the park.

They met every need we had and then went above and beyond after we checked out! I left something important behind, the manager found it, held it until someone claimed it, then went to the trouble to package it carefully and mail it to me! The entire staff and especially the manager were definitely a cut above any place else we’ve stayed over the past few years! Great to see folks with professionalism and a great work ethic! Well done Hampton Alpine!

This was one of the worst places we have stayed at in a while. The receptionist was nice at check in, but did not like to deal with problems, and no one is available for assistance after 7:00 PM. The floor in our room was dusty, had trash in most of the corners and needed mopping to the point you had to wear slippers or socks to keep your feet from getting dirty. We had to use a towel to wipe the floor in the bathroom, but she did not want to give us fresh linen because we had elected the green rate. The first night the heat didn’t work and when asking her to help with it she told me it was because I was doing it wrong. I actually can read instructions but she did not want to hear anything was wrong. Our coffee pot was clogged and dirty and when asking for another she did not have anymore after trying to pass off another broken one that fell apart when she handed it to me. The room was dark and gloomy and one of the lamps was missing the light bulb. The shower head also needed cleaning, it sprayed water everywhere. A good soak in vinegar would have helped. At checkout, I was ignored so could not address some of the issues, to include the toilet stopping up. I would not recommend my worse enemy stay here.

Great value for a short stay.

The host was quite accommodating to a late arrival. I’ve never stayed in a roadside motel before, and while I was leery, I could tell the owner has gone through great links to make it a desirable stay. While the bathroom was nothing special, the air conditioning was on point, and I slept like a rock in bed.

If you are going to Big bend national park, alpine is the best city to stay in! Close as you can get to the park plus plenty of stuff to do in/around Alpine itself! But also safe and quiet at night! Delightful

We stayed 2 nights at the Alpine B&B and enjoyed our time in the Castle Rock room. It was excellent. Plenty of room and a comfortable bed. The bathroom was enormous and was stocked with fluffy towels and many amenities such as shampoo, conditioner, bath gel and lotion. Breakfast was outstanding and if you happen to have an early departure they will put together a “to go” breakfast. We had an early morning the day we left and it too was excellent. Non alcoholic drinks were on the house which was nice. Our hosts, Sharon and Tom, took great care of us and had quite a bit of information about activities in the area as well as recommended restaurants. Plenty of maps and brochures. Overall a fantastic stay. Will book again if we happen to return to the area.

DON'T STAY HERE

Reviewed By kpolone

I do want to say that the room was clean. However, you have the check in at the diner across the street. Everyday we had to get are door key rekeyed, because they had us checked out. We were scheduled for 3 nights. They ended up charging me almost $1,500 for those 3 nights. CHECK YOUR BILL. They charged me the whole stay when I checked in, two more charges on the second day, and then the full amount on the third day. I called the manage twice and left a message. To date, it has been10 days and no call. I also called the corporate office and filed a complaint, was told I would have a call in 7 days, 10 days later, no call. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. They cater to the railroad crew.
