The View Oman is located at 1,400 meters above sea level, driving through 8 kms of winding off road from Al Hamra to Hail Al Shas in a 4WD vehicle. We are just 2 1/2 hrs drive from Muscat, 45 minutes from Nizwa and 15 minutes from Al Hamra, it is a perfect getaway with 30 exclusive rooms for a truly relaxed and comfortable stay. It isn't just an 'Eco Luxe' retreat, but an experience where nature holds pride of place. Where service and hospitality is at its finest. It's an ideal port of call for visitors wanting to start adventurous trekking expeditions and excursions towards the peak of Jabal Shams Mountains. The View provides stylish accommodations apart from enjoying a relaxed time by the campfire or taking a dip in the infinity pool.
On our Oman trip we stayed one night in the front premium cabins (#25 and #26). Indeed, the view is exceptional, in particular around sunset and during the night. Enjoy it either on your balcony, in the bathtub or swimming pool. Dinner was very tasty and our extra Indian dishes were freshly prepared at request without extra charges. The rooms were clean but need to be refurbished. During Ramadan lunch and breakfast was served in the room, hence the quality was not that great. However, all over all The View is a great place and recommended to be part of your trip in Oman.

Beautiful traditntal hotel, had everything we needed for one nights stay, would definitely have stayed another night to explore the area. Host was very kind and helpful. Dinner and breakfast was great. Very pleasant stay with beautiful views from the roof top.

Traditional guest house with nice view from the terrace on all the village. Located near the parking and the honey shop. Dinner and breakfast are included with traditional food.
perfectly located at the entrance of the town, we had a lovely stay at Ahmed's guest house. He is really friendly, attentive and will give you tipps of the surrounding region. The balcony view is incredible as well as the dinner and breakfast (vegetarian freandly)! Next to the guest house he has a nice shop with local typical products.

As a newly established deluxe hotel, located in the top of Hat Mountain, Al-Hamra, and Shorfet Al-Alamin offers you and your esteemed customer to taste the fantastic overnight stay. Shorfet Al-Alamin Hotel completed with 24 deluxe rooms with private balcony and veranda. A fine dine-in restaurant serves various cuisines with the best and experienced chef available.
Overall this place is in a time warp. Has a depressing run down feel to it. Major maintenance issues. Taps leaking, smelly drains, shocking decor. The staff were friendly enough. The dinner was nice and tasty, would probably recommend the Indian options and breakfast big hearty overdone serves. Needs a smarten up but adequate for an overnight stay.

Misfah Old House is in the middle of the old village of Misfat Al Abryeen in Sultanat of where local people are mainly farmers. Our Misfah Old House is about 220 km far from Muscat airport and it is very easy to reach. It is about 40 km south west from Nizwa city (GPS location +23° 8' 24.06", +57° 18' 44.94" ).The houses have 12 rooms with 8 shared bathrooms, We serve Omani traditional food cooked and supplied by local families and we also arrange guided tours within the village and surrounding areas with Omani Local Guides. Also please be kind and inform the guest that:Smoking is not allowed inside the house ( ask for the smoking area )Alcoholic drinks are not allowed at all by Oman Government lawPlease make sure you wear decent clothes in the villageCarry small luggage for the stay in the house only as they have to walk for 5min to get to the houseCheck In time should be before 5 pm as you need to walk for almost 5 min to the house so better doing it in the day light :)
Definitely one of the most "original" experiences made during the trip. The main building (where you have breakfast and dinner) is very typical. The "rooms" provide "sufficient" comfort, and some of them have also a small private bathroom with a shower. You will stay in the midst of a palm plantation, surrounded by aflaj that are full of water or not, according to seasonality. The dinner was good, the breakfast was disturbed by tens of flies. Definitely a must!

Jebel Shams Resort is located in the Wilayat of Al Hamra which is part of the Ancient city of NIZWA. The Resort is built atop of the highest peak in Oman. Jebel Shams is known as "The Mountain of The Sun" and rises to an altitude of 3000 metres. The most amazing sunsets can be experienced from here. A 4 x 4 vehicle is the recommended form of transport to reach our location and takes approximately 40 minutes to ascend from the nearest town of AL-Hamra. The area is home to weavers of heavy woolen rugs in distinctive colours and geometric designs. The views of the Grand Canyon from Jebel Shams Resort are amazing, ideally situated just minutes walk away from the Canyon and some fabulous Trekking and Mountain Biking, just some activities available to our guests. The temperature in Summer is ideal, usually around 30 degrees Celcius, which makes it an ideal place for a weekend break from the heat of the city's of Muscat and elsewhere for weekend breaks or a great place to explore for visitors around the Globe. Please come and visit us at our retreat and enjoy a wonderful welcome from our staff and take in the fascinating view of the Grand Canyon and the entire plateau.

Me and my husband stayed here 2 nights and it was perfect. The only minus point is the breakfast which is not in the house and you have to go to a restaurant. And in that restaurant there is no breakfast for the Europeans. Only omlet. The rest is Indian and Arabic breakfast. There is no bread, no butter no jam no cheese. Ahmed is such a nice and helpful person. He arranged a car for us which we could drive to Jebel Shams. I will stay here again.

Half an hour uphill drive from Al Hoota caves toward Balad Sayt, you reach this little rest house. Facilities are very basic, but ok for a night stay. The climate is much cooler than the city. Evenings have cool breeze, wonderful to watch stars if the sky is clear at night.
