Chile's Valle Central, a verdant valley tucked between the Andes and the coastal mountain ranges, has a mild climate and moist soil perfect for grape growing. Made up of four distinct wine regions, Maipo, Rapel, Curico and Maule, the area is criss-crossed by well-traveled wine roads. At the northern end of the valley is Maipo, the oldest of Chile's wine regions, famous for its Cabernet Sauvignon. At the opposite end is Maule, which still grows Pais, the first grape brought to South America.

The room smelled terrible. The front door to the hostal doesn't work properly. Upon exiting one morning while trying to open the door, I was yelled at by a staff member very rudely and loudly. It was unacceptable to speak to a guest that way. The housekeepers start very early and are incredibly loud. I would not stay here again.

Although the rooms in this hostel are not big (at all), the service is just wonderful. The staff will bring you breakfast every morning to your room, they'll clean the room every day and bring you clean towels and they keep all of the bathrooms and common areas clean. All the rooms have a nice TV set and WIFI. I stayed for a week and a half and the way the staff treated me made my entire trip to Santiago a memorable experience. Gabriela, Gloria and Mario are such sweet people. They'll make the necessary arrangements in order for you to feel comfortable. The location is just wonderful; a block away from a supermarket, a bunch of cafe's and restaurants in the area and it's two blocks away from Republica Avenue (street full of different universities and colleges). Three blocks away from the nearest subway station and just a walking distant from exciting Santiago Center. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!

Staff were really lovely. Price includes simple breakfast and dinner which isn’t bad. Comfortable beds. Room was a bit small so not much space and not many toilets but lots of showers with hot water. Good location, very central to the main center and cerro san Cristóbal.

We are located in a privileged sector of Santiago, a traditional downtown neighborhood of Providence, between metro stations Salvador and Manuel Montt, walking distance to cultural centers, restaurants, business centers, entertainment, clinics and hospitals.Just 10 minutes from downtown and 20 minutes from Santiago International Airport. At night our street is very bright, quiet and safe to walk, making you relaxing full restful sleep.
If you are looking for something super simple but good and cheap, this is the place. The rooms are small and the bathroom too but it just all that you need for a good price. The staff is super friendly and recommended us many places to go around the city. The place is well located in a safe neighborhood close to the metro station. The breakfast is included but simple, don't wait for a great buffet because here people are used to more simple breakfast than in other countries.

liked: room basic but clean and comfortable. Venezuelan receptionist super nice and friendly. disliked: lack of any generosity, as shown at breakfast - no fruit, no jam (was finished and they couldn't go and get new one), no green tea, no wholewheat bread or cereal. and the owner instructs her personnel that they cannot serve more than 1 egg per person.

The stay was good (cleanliness, kitchen, location...) but I left my bag in the storage room for 2 days and it didn't work well !! When I came bag to pick it up they had moved it to another room, opened it, went through my stuffs, left some of my belongings out of the bag and zip it back without any care : ( This other storage room was so messy that when I opened the bag I could have lost several items without noticing it, including my credit card which someone took out of a small bag without putting it back.

Casa Aborigen pass on the culture of native people of Chile through its activities, services and surroundings. It is located 8 minutes by walking of the Subway Parque Bustamante, in a central place but at the same time it keep quietness and traditions of a typical Chilean neighbourhood, you can walk to a Neighbourhood named Italia, where you can find restaurants and handcraft shops. We invite you to be a part of this experience.
Customer service is something you cant guarantee, even if you’re paying for big brand chain hotels. For what you pay, the private room is massive, breakfast is sufficient and the hotstal is super clean throughout. The reception staff don’t all speak English, but do their best to be helpful - Christian and Michelle were amazing!! Casa Aborigen is a few minutes from Barrio Italia - a great neighbourhood for winding down to brunch or chilling out after a long day. It’s close to the park, metro area and walking distance of San Cristóbal outlook if you’re strolling through the barrios. They also arrange tours and most companies will pick up from this location. The demonstrations didn’t affect my stay, but the hostel is pretty close the the activity so if you’re on foot - you may need to plan a few detours. There is certainly high security at the hostel - it is fenced, meaning you are buzzed in and out. Unfortunately, there were times of having to wait 5 or so minutes, which was frustrating, but not deal breaking.

I booked 9 nights in this hostel thinking that it was a place well located. As soon as I arrived, on January 1st 2020, I could tell that things were not as expected because the front of the Hostel was full of graffiti. As soon as I arrived I asked the attendant how was the situation of Santiago and if I were safe and the answer was: Oh this is all in TV, you have nothing to worry about. After two nights there I could tell you a whole different story. On January 3rd, when I was coming back to rest at 8h p.m I was surprised with a huge manifestation nearly 7 minutes away from the hostel. The police was throwing a lot of tear gas on the streets to try to control the protests. My eyes were hurting... When I was almost arriving at the hostel I recognised that protestors were actually throwing rocks at the Hostel and I couldn't control the nerves. There was also a fire nearby the Hostel and because of everything I had to walk around and even ask for refuge inside a beverage store. That shows how things were really bad. And the Hostel was still receiving new guests everyday since nothing was being said. Other days I would receive masks while walking on the streets. This only happened in this area of Santiago, known as the "Ground Zero" or "Ponto Zero". I already had another place to stay in Santiago were no manifestations were going on and I asked for the refund for the 3 nights I had already paid (way earlier in November). I was told by the attendant that I would get the refund directly on my credit card, so far nothing has come in. So I am here to let everyone know about how things works in this Hostel. They already knew that things were really bad since there were pieces of wood protecting all the windows of the Hostel. I would not recommend anyone to stay there. As you can see, there is a lack of communication between guests and staff members.
