The largest city on the Adriatic Coast, seaside delight Split has been under Roman, Venetian, Austrian, French, Italian and Yugoslav control. There is an abundance of restaurants and wine cellars. Sites such as Diocletian's Palace and Mausoleum, the Grgur Ninski Statue and the Cathedral and Bell Tower of St. Domnius justify its position as a UNESCO-designated World Heritage Site. The city's coves offer several lovely beaches, including central Bacvice. Ferries link Split to Dalmatian summer resorts.

If you are a fan of the Mediterranean and looking for accommodation that will provide you with traditional Mediterranean environment, hostel Dvor is the perfect choice. Its appearance is reminiscent of ancient stone houses of Split’s Old Town. In the traditional vernacular architecture, “Dvor” (inner courtyard) was surrounded by high stone walls, and in our hostel it has been repurposed into the external living room leading directly into the rooms on the ground floor. We are committed to providing only the highest level of service to our guests, which is confirmed by the ongoing work to improve our offer, and keeping up with current trends in the market.
We had a great experience on our stay with a group of 36 people. Never have I been in such a modern, neat and clean hostel before. Also the breakfast was better than I have previous experienced with included breakfasts. The staff is helpful with finding good experiences like wine tasting or booking a transfer. Would recommend!

We stayed in a private room, so can't comment on what it would be like staying in a dorm. Positive points: * Clean * Wifi * Air conditioning * Fantastic location * Friendly reception staff Negative points: * The room was very small, which made it quite difficult to maneuver round with two suitcases. * Our room was right outside the reception, which meant that it was quite noisy with people coming and going during the night I wouldn't have liked to stay much longer than we did (3 nights) but for a basic base for sightseeing it was fine.

Good location. Nice atmosphere and people. Helpful staff. Bit of a strange layout though. Mostly clean and tidy Bed sheets were ripped. You have to walk through another room to get to your room. Bathroom was next to the kitchen. Just 2 women's showers with curtains so not a lot of privacy. Just one single hob to cook so didn't bother queuing to use it.

Villa Simoni Apartments is a family run business operating since summer 2004. Perfectly located, just 3 minute’s walk distance from the old town and all the noise and hassle. But still, very conveniently just behind the ferry port, bus station and the train station. On the opposite side, also 2-3 minute’s walk distance is the most popular sand beach in Split, Bacvice. There is a free public parking in front of the house in the case You are coming with Your own vehicle. In our offer we have rooms and studio apartments, some of them overlooking the sea and the old town. There are double, twin, triple and quadruple rooms available, suiting all Your needs. If You are coming as a group, there is a common room in the lobby for all of You to hang out together. Our staff is here to answer all Your questions, don't hesitate to contact us at any time! Looking forward on meeting You soon.
The location was a short 5 minute walk to the Riva. There are 2 bakeries and two grocery stores about a 3 minute walk away. Very close to bus, train, and port. I enjoyed the large balcony. The room had everything I needed. Very convenient to have the mini kitchen and an extra bonus for having an ice tray! The towels here were very stiff. On occasion, I had problems logging into wi-fi but definitely not a deal-breaker. Everything was very clean and I felt safe there (female solo traveler). The air conditioning is fantastic.

Being literally situated in the center of Split and near all public transportation (train, ferry, and bus station-including bus station for the airport) we are an ideal spot for travelers and backpackers. Hostel is situated in a small and rather quiet alley, a few minutes walking distance from the historic center, main city market, etc. In the neighbourhood you can find bakery (opened 24 hours), pharmacy, supermarket, exchange office, post-office, as well as coffee bars and restaurants. Being managed by a young team we wil provide you with information concerning transportation, places to visit, sights and cultural events that must be seen, and we'll provide you with city maps. We do not have common area which is why we are an ideal spot for short stops and quick rest, though we have a fully equipped kitchen. Accommodation types we offer:- Twin private en-suite located 10 minutes from reception equipped with AC, TV, computer, free internet access and kitchen.1. 2 mix dorms (each 8 beds), located next door to reception, includes AC, fridge, free of charge internet, WiFi, satellite TV and shared kitchen2. We stayed in a 4-bed dorm with ensuite bathroom, which was very useful. The room and the lockers for your luggage were definitely big enough. The location is also a large plus, close to the bus and train station as well as to the city center. However, the kitchen/common area was very small and we had some noise from the street and from the room above ours.

Quality budget accommodation in the heart of split, Croatia! With an unbeatable location in the very heart of Split, Old Town is a cozy little hostel run by locals and travelers always willing to show you a good time and make sure you have a comfy, safe and fun stay. Important: *Reception hours: 8am-10pm *Check-in time: pm *Check-out time: 12:00 (noon) *We don't take credit cards! Payment must be in cash.
Pros: - Hostel is located in the heart of the old town, only thing is good luck finding it! It’s tucked in an alley across from the Muslim centre of Split. Took us about an hour to find unfortunately but once you catch your bearings it’s easy enough - staff was friendly Cons: - no hot water, just enough for one person 5 min shower. If hostel has other guests chances are you will be showering in ice water (3 showers all were cold) - wifi is horrible, not sure why they havent fixed this issue. Had troubles loading even Google. - no atmosphere or lounge room (warranted its a tight space for a hostel so it’s very small and not much room) Which means the rooms are all very close and you can hear everything in the hallways.

Newly renovated, centrally located in the heart of Diocletian Palace. Surrounded by all the popular attractions and entertainment, only a short walk to Split's greatest museums, shops, restaurants, nightlife and beaches.- Free Wireless/Guest Computer- Free Linens- Free City Maps- Free Tour Info- Daily Happy Hour at Charlie's Bar (12pm-8pm)- No Curfew / Lockout
Had such a great time at Fiesta Siesta. It's a party hostel (there is a bar downstairs) but it closes at midnight so it isn't too loud. The staff is super friendly; my friend and I had a great time hanging out with them at Charlie's and playing drinking games at Booze and Snooze. There is also a laundromat across the street which was very helpful.

We arrived at the property later than expected and the lady kindly waited for us. We received a warm welcome and agreed to check in the following day. The following day while checking in we mentioned that we were backpacking and that we would be cooking our own meals, she then moved us to into an apartment which had better cooking facilities and gave us more pots and pans! The apartment was perfect for our needs, we couldn't have asked for more! The host was very friendly and helpful, and the property was clean and comfortable. There are plenty of bakeries, cafes, bars, markets and restaurants around the property. It's a short walk to the sea front, and it's only a 10/15 minute walk to the main bus station and the ferry port.

Price: affordable stay with breakfast included Location: very close to the old town and the main attractions of Split Staff: can’t complain - everyone was nice and helpful Standard: our room was old and the equipment was of poor quality. Hot water is heated in a small boiler so it’s barely enough for one person Summary: 7/10 (good price and quality balance)
