After belonging to many empires over time (including Roman, Byzantine, Ottoman, and most recently Yugoslavian), Macedonia gained its independence in 1991, and Skopje, with about half a million people, is its largest city and capital. Despite its age, the city looks quite modern, owing to a massive 1963 earthquake that destroyed 75% of its buildings. Skopje has long been shared by Christians and Muslims, who still come together at the fascinating Old Bazaar, one of the Balkans' largest markets.

Hi Skopje Hostel is located in the comfy zone, at the base of Vodno Mountain, outside hustle and crowds, yet 10 min walk from center of Skopje. It’s location on a hill, makes the place secure and perfect for the fresh air, for the sunrise side and the wonderful panoramic view of the city. We are two girls that own and run this hostel, and after lot of traveling, we make a hostel like Skopje deserves. With its own garden of 600m2, Hi Skopje is one of the few places in the city, where you can relax, have nice stay and meet new people and cultures. The warm atmosphere in the garden is enriched with summer cinema and lounge parties. Its own natural beauty, with hundreds of plants, inspired us to describe the 4 elements of the nature, within the hostel. Hi Skopje has clean and comfortable mix dorms and private rooms, and each of them has element that represents the natural beauty of Macedonia. There is a large multi-purposed room, with PC , Wi-Fi internet access and a cozy fireplace, where you can share your traveling experiences.Every morning we serve free breakfast, and a free tea and coffee during your stay at our hostel. We’re expecting you!
Great experience and highly recommend Hi Skopje. The host is amazing loves his city and always ready to help, for advise or a chat. Simply loved my stay. Ended up extending my stay because Skopje was amazing. There is a bit to do in town and a few really interesting day trips. The hostle was very clean and comfortable. Good wifi, excellent info on local tourist sites.

Get Inn is a hostel with an exceptional position in the heart of Skopje. It is a perfect choice if you are seeking calm and intimate surroundings in the center of Skopje at fair price. Experience the richness of Skopje’s architectural history in this beautifully restored “before the earthquake” building, which is a fusion of the authentic look and its modern design.
Very cosy hostel, next to center city. Around you can find shops. Friendly staff and warm rooms. Double bedroom with AC, we stayed in January and it was warm in room, when outside was -10 in some days. Big balcony, computer, and staff can help you to find everything what you need.

The staff was really friendly, and the room was really nice and at a good price. Skopje is not a very big city, so you can walk from the hostel to the center such as the stone bridge. Highly recommended.

The hostel is located in the center of the town, 500 meters from Kale Fortress, city park and lots of museums, restaurants and cafe bars. All of the rooms have a hand basin with hot and cold water. One room had its own bathroom. Costumers can enjoy and relax in our beautiful garden.
Hostel is old, but ok. Beds are crappy with the springs in your back. Owner just visits the place, cleaning lady is at reception most of the time. We forgot a toiletry bag. Owner said for a week long that he would send it by post tomorrow... After a week he just said he didn't want to do it... Not a nice guy at all. Hope nobody spents a dollar there.

Maki (the CEO of the hostel) always went the extra mile to make sure that all of the guests were happy. He would listen to them and then intently give the best advice that he knew in not only traveling, but everything. He would socialize and try best to make it so that everyone was happy and I truly appreciate him for doing that. Not only this, he also made sure that you had a great breakfast each morning as well with fresh yogurt, adjvar, cheese, eggs, bread and perfectly made coffee. It didn't stop there for he also got me burek on my first day and then he would get great rakija from a reputable maker so the evenings were happy. He also bought boxed wine a few times for all the guests. Things like this don't get unnoticed and I for sure can appreciate such hospitality. I felt so guilty at the end for indulging in all the hospitality that I had to get him a bottle of good Bourburn as a gift and a token of my appreciation for being so hospitable. Thanks for the great time and I hope that we meet again someday:)

We located 3 minute from bus and train station.New hostel renovated.
When I first arrived I was a bit skeptical from its exterior look which is like a run down apartment building.I was greeted by the owner, Valentin. Friendly person who furnished me with the details and what to see and do in Skopje. The room is clean and tidy and the kitchen and bathrooms are clean and tidy too. The crowd is decent and friendly. This is NOT a party hostel. It is easily located near the main bus station and not far from city center.

Opened in June 2019, with the capacity of 8 rooms and 100 bunk beds Hostel INBOX is designed to accommodate 116 guests in total with 24 shared bathrooms and showers. Eight of the rooms are equipped with private bathrooms, hairdryers, Philips Android Smart TV. Private parking and Wi-Fi are available for all our guests. Hostel INBOX has a superb location in the well-known and historic Old Bazaar. Hostel INBOX is the perfect base for exploring the city and all it has to offer. Our hostel is located right on Skanderbeg Square, only 5 min walking from Macedonia Square, the main square in Skopje. The Old Bazaar in Skopje is the largest bazaar in the Balkans outside Istanbul. The Stone Bridge, across the Vardar River, connects the Old Bazaar to Macedonia Square in the new part of the city. A 24-hour front desk is at guests’ disposal and an airport shuttle can be requested. The Bus station is 1.5 km away and Skopje Airport is 16 km from Hostel INBOX. The property is within a very short walking distance to various shops, restaurants, cafes and cultural monuments. These are just a few of the landmarks located near our hostel.
The hostel is well-located next to the old bazar district. The hostel premises were on -1 floor in the same building as Hotel de Koka. The service in the reception was top quality and we got supreme tips for getting around in Skopje. Though, in the pictures the hostel looked comfy and clean, but in the reality the dorms were filthy, had no windows and for some reason half of the toilettes and showers were blocked with a table? The -1 floor had suspicious smell indicating a significant water damage and mold growth. I advise you to avoid this hostel if you're allergic or asthmatic. You should be aware that they don't have proper common living room or kitchen facilities. The alternative front door was open all day without anyone guarding allowing all bypassers to enter the dorm rooms (all the way to sleeping area!). Don't leave any belongings in the dormitory.
