Stretching from the wooded Dordogne to the towering peaks of the Pyrenees, this vast region is a popular winter sports destination, but one without the hordes that besiege the Alps. Spring's melted snows lure kayakers and rafting enthusiasts. In summer, amateur and advanced hikers take to the hills.

Another fantastic home-style meal chez Sylvie. Fabulous food, great hospitality. And an excellent price. Everything was delicious and well presented. Veal stew and cockerel were new to us here, and would love to have them again. The Garbure as always, amazing

Excellent on every level. Modern, ecological building with en suite rooms. Knowledgeable and welcoming staff. Excellent location, quiet with views of the fortified bridge. Good breakfast. Highly recommended.

Just read a new review that warns agout the front rooms. I stayed here twice, once in 4 bed back room and once in the front (on Thursday night). I hadn't realised that people still sang in the street but there it was from about 12 to 4am - and despite my usual earplugs etc. I was awake (& then one of the others in teh room left at 4.30 so ...) but that's all part of the fun isn't it - its clean and the bedding is pristine. The kitchens are in the rooms (so not to everyone's taste depending on whether (& what) your fellow guests are cooking). Bit tricky getting in first time so make sure you arrive during one of their (very clearly identified) opening hours - once you're there its fine and very secure. If you're walking the camino the owner is very keen but I didn't feel like many people there were on the walk. If you're not, then its really easy from train and airport (tho you may need to watch out for timing as the public transport tickets "last" an hour. Big supermarket on the main road near the bus stop/metro. Don't miss the japanese garden/canal in your rush to go into the centre.

800m from the family resort of Mourtis, the Col de Mente well known cyclists both amateur and the Tour de France, the Auberge Gite Soulan welcomes you all year and offers to eat, to rest on time for a short or long stay, alone, with family or with a group or party on the occasion of a birthday or a family event.
Well worth the climb up to this Restaurant. We had visited at lunchtime in the past but decided to make the 10 minute drive up the Mountain to try the Restaurant in the Evening... Yet again, a delicious and good value for money meal was had by all. Reccomended. Probably wise to Book a Table.

We were booked into this hotel by a local person who knows the owner. It was a pleasant surprise to find such a nice room with a bathroom. The owners were very nice and friendly. We had dinner the first night there and the food was amazing!!!! The breakfast consists of bread and yogurt and beverages. There is a pool, however, the water was too cold for me. Overall, I enjoyed my stay there very much.
