Whatever the season, because of the proximity of the cable car of the Glaciers de la Meije (2mn on foot), a stay at the cottage "The Rock" is often the starting point of a sporting adventure and friendly!
I had a stay of 2 nights and really enjoyed my stay. Everyone was friendly and very welcoming. The food and wine was really excellent with very generous portions which are needed after a day on the mountains. The bunk bed was comfortable and the room spotless.

Style Backpacker (ou Auberge De Jeunesse), Cuisine Commune Ouverte 24h/24 Bar A Vins, Cocktails Et Whisky Au Rez De Chaussée
I stayed there for a few days in April 2018 and have to say the hotel manager is very friendly, efficient and hardworking. Can't recommend this place enough. I injured myself while skiing and had to abort my trip but he gave me the initial prices he quoted me for for my stay.

Hi! Situated on the Col du Lautaret pass, we have access to Serre Chevalier and La Grave ski resorts (10 mn drive) and ski touring, snowshoeing and snowkiting from the front door. In the summer all activities hiking, biking, rafting, climbing, you name it, it's accessible from here. Mike, the owner, is a qualified hiking and trekking guide and personal trainer. A great place to relax for sporty people and families alike. we have a garden with barbecue, south facing terrace and play area. Living room with fireplace and bar. Hope to see you soon!
Good service and great food! I had an awesome week up on the mountain with this charming family and their adorable dog, Lilly! The hosts went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. I also broke my snow chains and they were nice enough to help me fixing them :) Just a few minutes from the kite spot, and its also possible to go freeriding just outside the door

Am surprised by the reviews below. Astragales was basic but clean, and was incredibly good value for Demi pension. I stayed in the dorm, enjoyed hanging out in the garden, and had a stonkingly good dinner of soup, pasta bake and apricot clafoutis. The owners are both runners and have great local trail tips. They also kindly sorted me out a 5.30am self serve breakfast so I could get on my way early. Thanks for having me Merci Mel

In the GR5 long distance path this Auberge is excellently situated. Very attractive garden, dormitories but also individual rooms. Great meal included in half pension. We were given the individual room although we had booked the dormitory. In the morning a quick start is possible although breakfast starts at 7.30.

Adjacent to Abbeye de Boscodon with super views of snow-capped mountains and only the sound of tinkling cow bells outside our window. Accommodation is typically Alpine and evening meal very tasty and 'robust'. Our host was mad keen on Campagnolo cycling memorabilia (we arrived by bicycle) and was very friendly. Waking up to a sunny morning after rain and having the Abbaye to ourselves was magical! If you want to stay off the beaten track then this is it! Didn't have time but I bet the walking around here is fabulous.
