Far East Russia is a world apart from the country’s west – almost literally, lying thousands of miles and many time zones away from it. A huge area with rugged mountains and spectacular Pacific Ocean coastline, Far East Russia borders China and North Korea on its south and nearly touches the United States to the northeast. Cities like Vladivostok and Khabarovsk are here, but the glorious natural wonders (like the volcanoes and national parks of the Kamchatka Peninsula) are what draw many.

I had such a good time in this hostel! I arrived by train to Khabarovsk, and though the hostel isn't exactly in city centre, it was very easy to both get there and find it. The tram line 1 goes almost to the door from the train station. I didn't really know what to see, so I asked one of the staff about what they would recommend seeing and then 30min later she had found a local boy, who wanted to improve his language skills to show me the city! The following day, the weather wasn't so good, so I stayed at the hostel for most of the day. The staff was super friendly and chatted with me all afternoon, and we played games and I learned the Russian colours. They didn't have lockers (I didn't mind, but I know some do)

Cozy hostel in the historic center of the city, 300 meters from the sea. The hostel is located in a building built in the early XX century. Located near most attractions. Just nearby is the promenade where you can walk and swim. Near a lot of stops, from which you can go anywhere in the city. Located near the quays, the main walking street, cafes, restaurants, shops, cinemas and much more.
Staff are charming and helpful. Rooms are no bigger than a capsule. The bed takes all available space. Windows are blocked so they only open a little bit. It is very, very hot. If you are on the top floor there's only a skylight and should it rain you cannot open this skylight. The kitchen smells are overwhelming as there is no exhaust. The staircase is dangerous. Lots of hair in the shower drain. Guests leave the shower curtain hanging outside the cubicle so water floods into hallway onto slippery tiles. The building felt like a death trap. I would not like to experience an emergency in this place.

Teplo Hotel is located in the historical centre of Vladivostok, within a 5-minute walk of Vladivostok Train Station. Free WiFi access is available. The rooms are decorated in bright colours and feature a TV, microwave, kettle and fridge. The bathroom comes with a hairdryer and free toiletries.
Location Teplo is located about 5-10 min walk from Vladivostok train station. To airport train which runs at random times takes 50 minutes & costs about 400rub. The hotel does provide transfers at a cost of 1100 rubles. It also takes about an hour. Within area one can walk to Golden Horn bay where all the ships & a Submarine to visit is and on another side about 15 minutes walk to beach where there are various bars and is perfect for sunset, especially in summer at a bar called sunset something, plays Ibiza tunes but relaxing & great to lie back on bean bags & enjoy the view. Hotel is generally a great spot to walk about the city to the main sights & museums but is quiet. Room Superior room was a little disappointing with the price charged. Very small, bed ok but pillows not soft. No alarm clock or phone for wake up service. Faces a smallish TV that has nothing but Russian channels despite other (cheaper) hotels in Russia having something at least in English. Open plan wardrobe with some shelves, a small fridge but no mini bar offered. Though two bottled waters are complimentary. Plus a kettle. Two small chairs with a coffee table. Bathroom quite small & takes a while for hot water to kick in. Basic dispenser shower gel (bring your own) and shampoo only. But they do provide dental kits. AC unit is in the room on wall stand-alone unit. Though I was on my own, found space limited in general & if two people stayed here with bags it would be tighter than a cheap London hotel. But at the same price. Facilities The hotel offers free WiFi but found it dropped a lot & too slow to stream youtube. There is a shared kitchen area in the lobby but didn’t seem anyone hanging out in there. There are also some snacks in fridges to buy, such as pot noodles and chocolate bars, crisps but overpriced and noticed my bought Twix had a soft biscuit because it was one month out of date. Breakfast is also provided but left to early to try it. Staff Staff are generally friendly & helpful all but the overnight girl at the reception can speak English well & are helpful with any requests. Such a taxi booking. The pre-booking communication is excellent as well via Expedia. Staff, in my opinion, are the strength of this hotel. Overall considering it was nearly 9000rub a night, for what you get even compared to Moscow & St.Petersburg seems way overpriced especially how small the double room is. Vladivostok is to be fair, more expensive for hotels than most Russian cities I’ve been to like Kazan, Sochi & Khabarovsk but didn’t feel Teplo offered value for money & only stayed here based on reviewed but will try unlikely return on my next visit to Vladivostok. It's not really a suitable hotel for a business traveller.

Brand new cozy "warm" hostel "VladStar Inn" in the center of Vladivostok is waiting for its guests and friends at any time of the day.
VladStar Inn has everything: beautiful historical, building, well located (city centre), high standard comfort, staff very nice and helpful, you need something, just ask ;) The kitchen has a fridge and laundry machine all new, there's balcony to sit outside sighting a calm courtyard. The perfect deal to enjoy Vladivostok in excellent conditions! I recommend it!

This place could be nice, because it's well located and staff is very helpful BUT 1. dorm room doesn't have enough space for backpack, toilets are small and during our stay there were many Korean girls who chose to wash hair, socks and underwear in the bathroom sink. So toilets were very dirty and uncomfortable,

What do travelers do, having trekked half way across the world? They talk about their journeys, listening raptly to the history of the city by the sea. It comes as no surprise that the city, just like people, has a life of its own. For one it is heroic, for another it may seem unremarkable. But here is what’s interesting — every port city in the world has its legends. Vladivostok has its stories too, about the sinking of Peter the Great’s gold, the ancient kingdom of the Jurchen and the even more ancient state of Bohai. No traveler can remain indifferent to Vladivostok. Anyone who visits the city even just once will forever remember these hills running down to the sea, this land of the Amur tiger, these friendly people who can not live without the sea. Here in the very heart of Vladivostok, at the intersection of two of the city’s oldest streets, Svetlanskaya and Posetskaya, our hostel is located in the old apartment house of one of Vladivostok’s most important early citizens, architect Ivan Meshkov. This wonderful location affords beautiful views over the city’s central square and main harbor, as well as the Golden Horn Bridge, Eagle Hill, the old town Millionka and Svetlanska Street.
Been' there some time ago. The location is convenient, it's the only pro. Actually it seems like just a flat with beds, not a hotel. No service, no amenities, no comfort. Noted stink in the bathroom and a family of roaches, probably they liked their stay here but not me.

A lots of Hong Kong traveler like me would prefer hotel over hostel for several reasons, but after this Vladivostok trip I realize I was so wrong! It because in the days of living in like Hostel, it brings me many unforgettable memorize and valuable experience. First of all the place are clean and safe, the staff are polite, helpful and friendly. Most important thing that is you can meet a lot friends from different place of the world, when you have a long conversation with some people that share no similar language and culture background, you understand this kind of experience are so interesting and unique that you can't find it in hotel. If you planning visit Vladivostok, Like Hostel would be an excellent choice.XD

Two double VIP rooms are equipped with comfortable modern furniture. They consist of a bedroom, toilet and bathrooms. One Room Economy Class is equipped with comfortable modern furniture. It consists of a bedroom, toilet and bathroom - are common. Sleeps. Two rooms - 8 beds with bedside tables for things, linens, TV.
The hostel itself is magnificently located on the hill very close to the interesting area, and looks very clean, so I was off to a good start . However , the good ended here . 2 ladies talking loudly from 7am in the very small sized hostel have ruined all the good experience. They were most likely housekeeper or staff, and even when asked to slow voice down they seemed not bothering . Everyone woke up at 7 K guessed as I had a single room. The loudly angry talking in Russian continued all throughout the morning. Shame , nice hostel ,but very poor manner and no English spoken at all . Avoid

I was not aware that the patronage was mostly South Korean however the staff including especially Jude were extremely helpful and pleasant. Jude had excellent English which was helpful. My room was the typical basic accommodation with an efficient air conditioner. Like many basic hostels it could do with a mirror in the room and pegs to hang clothes and towels in the common bathrooms. However facilties, staff and location more than made up for any deficiencies. Could also do with a prominent sign at the Alley entrance on the main street as location of Hostel not immediately obvious. Overall I enjoyed my stay.
