Located in the heart of the Colonial Zone just minutes walk away from the famous attractions in this UNESCO World Heritage City. We offer Dormitory accommodation and private en suite rooms. Excellent location of this accommodation doesn’t mean that it is the best in Santo Domingo, and especially in the Dominican Republic. It is impossible to fall asleep from the noise of cars from the street. Also , problem is and ,sounds of alarm from the door. In rooms when someone didn’t close or locked it. Breakfast is the same every morning. juice in which a lot of water is added, fried eggs, beans and pancakes. It’s possible to find much better and more comfortable accommodation for the same money in Colonial zone

Welcome to the Coco Hotel! One of the most affordable hotels in Sosua. We are within walking distance of 3 beautiful beaches and have one of the friendliest most popular bars in town. We are a quiet, clean hotel with 24hr security & managed by a live-in Canadian family. We have the best free wi-fi in town and back up generator for those weekly power outages. Come and have fun in Sosua, the Dominican Republic's Party Town. Live among the people of the Dominican Republic and enjoy one of the best climates worldwide. A laid-back culture with all the amenities of home in a very safe environment. Hope to see you soon.
This hotel is located about 20 minute walk from the main town. Room was basic with a helpful fridge but not enough storage room. Not very clean, smelly towels and only room cleaning every 3 nights. AC was not included ($5 extra per day). No meals served. They have a nice pool but not recommend for families with kids... clients love to drink and meangle at the front bar all day long. It is a great place if this is your kind of vacations.

Afreeka Beach Hostel & Music Bar is located in one of the most colorful towns of Dominican Republic, Las Terrenas, only a few minutes away from the main restaurants, shops and nightclubs, and the best? right in front of the blue water and sandy beach of Punta Popy. The hostel has been recently renovated and has tasteful decoration based in lights, wood and recycled materials as well as cultural remarks of the africans and indigenous and creative art works of some of the locals. We offer a variety of room types for all, starting with shared dormitories to private bedrooms. Enjoy the beautiful tropical garden, an outdoor swimming pool, a bar with local and international drinks, free WIFI, breakfast, hot water. We also have a great multilingual staff that can help you arrange excursions and provide information about the bus station, the town and other important things. And at the premises you can find a diving school and a kite surf school, that offer free trials.
Just back from Afreeka Hotel, lots to tell you so you get a concise overview pros and cons. Pros- 1.) Great location across from the beach road. 2.) Fantastic beach at this location. 3.) Helpful manager in Licelot. 4.) Nice food in Restaurant. Cons- 1.) The 2 female bar Managers are the rudest people I've ever come across especially the one with dyed red hair, they basically hate English people and treat you with total disdain. They never say please or thank you they look down at you they virtually throw your drinks at you they say rude things in Spanish about you not knowing that I can speak Spanish, they are the main reason we would never ever return to this hotel. 2.) The rooms and pool are very dated, when we arrived there was only a security guard to welcome us and he basically didn't have a clue about anything he just gave us the key and left. The shower was broken, the bed had a cheap uncomfortable mattress and there were lots of Mosquitos in the room. The pool was full of leaves which we had to remove as the gardeners were more miserable than the bar Managers. Loose slabs were all around the pool that only had 5 sun beds of which 1 was broken. We had booked 2 rooms of which 1 was an executive room and cost more than the standard room but all you got extra was a fridge. The rooms were never cleaned properly and when I asked for a hand towel for the bathroom I was told I couldn't have one. The furniture is old and chipped but is ok if you are just staying a couple of nights as a back packer but not suited to families. The room safe wasn't bolted down so you could just walk off with it so we didn't use it. 3.) Breakfast- We paid in advance for breakfast and were very surprised when we went for our first time that we could only have 3 items off the menu, if we wanted anything else even if cheaper we had to pay for it, so for example if we wanted a plate of fruit that cost $200 pesos instead of the breakfast we had paid for $400 pesos then we had to pay an extra $200 pesos and no recompense was offered, basically we ended up having to order 4 breakfasts we didn't want just to get the drinks with them then order cheaper breakfasts that we liked but had to pay extra for what a complete joke. 4.) There is no where near to get any provisions from nearest supermarket is 2 miles away 5.) No credit or visa payments are possible which I wasn't told about so when I was about to leave I couldn't pay for room until I set up a PayPal account. 6.) Language difficulties- Unless you know some Spanish you will at times struggle as most of the staff don't speak English, this isn't a complaint but just advice. 7.) Dogs- Lots of dogs running around the hotel and barking in the middle of the night, the staff just ignore them. Basically the hotel is a back packer place and you get what you pay for, the website makes it look a lot better than it is.

La Hacienda Hostel is located next to Cabo Samana National Park in the Las Galeras countryside overlooking the ocean and a ten minute walk to the nearest beach. Las Galeras town center is only 3 kilometers away, a thirty minute walk via the beach . The hostel consists of five rooms, all but one with a private bathroom. There is a common open space kitchen/dining/living area. Private rooms start at US $25, doom beds are US $14 and the whole hostel is US $ 150. This budget accommodation is basic with fans available and with a rain harvesting system for water with drinking water supplied. Breakfast is available by request and is charged extra. For people who like it to have more privacy a beautiful holiday house (hot water shower) is available on the property. Our specialty is the wonderful natural environment and horse riding excursions. The animal loving owner lives on site as do a few of the horses, a number of rescue cats and two dogs. Long term renting of a room or the holiday home is possible.
We went to playa Madama with Karins beatuful and peaceful horses. We are family of four, girl is 4 and baby is one. The guides were very friendly, we enjoyed the tour very much. Karin is very nice Lady, she picked us up in the hotel and took to her ranch. I would definitly recommend this activity to everyone who loves horses. For us it was the Best family activity during our Dominican trip!

It wasn' t an simple living, it was a human experience. We arrived, me and my traveling companion and life in this apartment, greeted by our host. A very nice person, always available, special! We spent a few moments together, but that little was enough to get us on the same wavelength, we cooked together a plate of Italian pasta with tomato, so much spoken and wished the best! I recommend everyone this special place!!

This must be my 5th stay, very friendly staff, its nice to see the same friendly people again, to me this is a sign of reliable staff. I like the 24 hour doorman and using the small 4 stove burner for meals, limited room in community frig thou. Must see the nice community area on the roof. Got a tour of Class Colonial's new hotel 100 meters away, looks great.
