We are the first hostel in Tamarindo. In business for more than 20 years, we know what we are doing. Our objective is to help you have a problem and stress free holidays here with us. Family owned, comfortable and quiet. We are always improving to satisfy our clients. We have recently gone through some serious renovations, adding 4 more rooms and a yoga studio.
My friend and me stayed at the hostel for one week and i can not say any negative things about it! It was truly amazing. The location is perfect, Leo (Manager) and all the staff do their work just great and are super friendly. Kitchen, rooms, shared areas… everything was perfectly clean and there is no way you will feel constricted. We enjoyed it so much and can truly recommend it!

Selina La Fortuna is located in the center of town and is the perfect starting point for all your adventures. Stay in our private rooms, suites, and more. Here you will feel at home, while meeting travellers from all around for the same great experience. Join us at night for a bonfire under the stars near the Teepee area where you will get the real Selina experience, meet other guests and share stories.
Amazing place if you don’t plan to sleep lol! Booked a private room for 4 for our family and I didn’t like it whatsoever : no privacy as it was on thé way across from the communal kitchen and absolutely NOT quiet with people yapping super early am up to late night in that open kitchen. This explains why they gave us so many earplugs smh! Then thé bar played loud music with deep bass until past 11pm. There were 4 bunk beds -that looked like concentration camp ones- and a full bed. Anyhow it’s great for single young travelers that travel alone and can sleep for cheap in any condition. That’s not me lol!

From the moment you enter our mini oasis, you will be immersed in exquisite nature. Paths wind in and out through lush jungle flora where dorms and rooms nestle in privacy. Best of all is the ever-present sound of the surf. The beach lies directly in front of our place and it is breathtaking. Our outdoor restaurant is casual and fun while offering a variety of elegant cuisine and the best collection of craft beers on the entire coast. It extends to tables under the palms and sand dancing under the stars. Playa 506 is one of the most spectacular values on the this side of the coast. Located in the serene little village of Cocles, it is only 2km walk or bike ride into the lively town of Puerto Viejo. We entertain a unique concept: backpackers boutique hotel. Our credo is this: We believe that true value is not necessarily one size fits all. Everyone should have the opportunity to create his or her unique experience from basic backpacker to 5-star amenities. Pura Vida at its finest!
Excellent Service Upon late arrival greeted and escorted to rooms, must carry your own luggage through sand so be prepared for new experience. Stayed in shared space with 8 bunk beds no a/c in our room in Jan room had 2 fans hanging on walls above facing beds. If you like a/c and don't like to sweat get room with a/c. Location was perfect walk on beach to town or bike ride to everything. Food & Drinks excellent! No longer Yoga! or Free breakfast but did honor; for couple of meals due to old post. Amenities and view amazing! People this places attracts to stay here..incredible relationships built that will last a lifetime. Wildlife! Live Music! Bike rentals! Massage Therapist on site! Massages daily on the beach! I can't wait to visit again! Thank you for amazing experience. If you ever need a massage therapist onsite give Jessica in Estes Park, CO. a call.

Staying here was a cherry ? on top of the cake that is MonteVerde. I also had the good fortune to get to know Ran and his wife while staying there, they're a one in a million family.

Room2Board is a newly built boutique hostel and surf school located on the Central Pacific Coast in Jaco Beach, Costa Rica. Its eco-friendly design provides adventure travelers, surfers, and backpackers a clean, safe and affordable place to stay. Room2Board was designed to have the social atmosphere and affordability of a traditional hostel and surf camp along with the amenities and style of a boutique hotel. From the moment you check-in you will feel apart of our global family. Please note we have a 2 day minimum on the weekends and a 2 day minimum over Semana Santa, March 27- April 5th and Christmas.
Room2Board is a class act beachfront hostel that has claimed its own spot in Jaco. Away from the business of the main strip, Room2Board offers comfortable shared or private rooms with a view in front of a pumping surf break. The bathrooms include showers; additionally, there are common cooking areas, outdoor showers, a beautiful pool, restaurant and bar. For remote workers the co-working space is bar-none. You can stash your stuff in a locker to keep it safe, rent a board from the surf shop if you need one, take a lesson, book a tour, you name it. The prices are competitive and a real deal for what you get. If you are a budget traveler, stay in a shared room for under $20. If price isn't an object, stay more luxuriously in a private room. The owner Brian takes pride in his masterpiece accommodation and his friendly staff hails from all over the world. You will be content to just hang in the bar/restaurant area all day long or relaxing in the state of the art pool. Hands down one of the best places to stay in Jaco. As an experienced hosteler, I can confidently say that Room2Board's value can not be beat.

This was my first time traveling solo and staying at a hostel so I was pretty nervous but the staff was very nice from the moment I checked in to the moment I checked out. It was raining quite badly when I arrived but that didn't stop me from enjoying my time there. They offer a totally unique experience in cylinder rooms and I cannot wait to go back!

Just like the tangy fruit after which the beach is named, Tamarindo is a delight for the senses. Just 30 miles from the Liberia International Airport, park yourself in Tamarindo for beautiful beaches, chic cafes, amazing restaurants, charming boutiques, and a thriving nightlife. For the traveler hungry for the trip of a lifetime, this location has it all. Beautiful beaches and biodiversity share the town with cafes, amazing restaurants, boutiques, and a thriving nightlife. First, I'd like to say thank you to Tony, Mercy, Óscar, Vale, Jairo and all the staff from this place who treated me awesome. I went from Friday 21 to Monday, January 24th 2022 and had a beautiful time. I booked a Suite room and it is perfect, clean, spacious and comfortable. They provide shower gel, shampoo and conditioner so no need to carry these items on your luggage. The swimming pool and bar area are well maintained, there was a DJ on Saturday's afternoon. Breakfast was pretty good and way satisfying. This is a place where I will DEFINITELY go back. Thank you all :)

Cons; Noisey, ear plus and sleeping pills required! We had a private room with a shared bathroom on the ground floor and had people knocking all evening as they hadn't taken their keys (not the fault of the hostel but I guess a bit of an issue with the way the rooms are set up. Pros; Great pool and Mexican Restaurant attached (his homemade sauces are incredible. Free breakfast is a real bonus. Lovely dining area with loads of books and hammocks to chill out on.

DON'T BOOK CYLINDERS (look good but completely impractical) Dissapointing place made worse by staff who just do not care in the slightest. Cons: -Usless staff -cloudy pool, with no one daring to go in it -they insist on cash only , charge 5% for cards - Almost nothing available in terms of food or even a cold drink Pros: - Quite central - Very good quality showers and toilets Enthusiastic staff would have made a huge difference. Some people left early to swap to poshpackers.
